Markle's credibility is certainly in question as well. Five friends that gossiped to the media about Markle's father apparently did this without Markle's knowledge, and this doesn't bother her. She's only bothered when her father sets the record straight.

He certainly proved it when he was challenged on the contents of the letter. If he produced the tuition receipts, would we see another lawsuit?

Since he has accused her of lying about who paid tuition saying he has the bank statements to prove it, he needs to produce them.
Or maybe he was lying or grossly exaggerating about his contribution.
Then being caught needing to produce the bank statements threw her out her letter to him instead to change the conversation.
Which it did quite handily.

I want to see proof of his statement that she lied about the tuition and he paid every penny of her tuition.

I want to see proof that Markle paid for her entire education. She made the claim. Today we have good reason to doubt her word. If she wants anyone to believe her, she should prove it.

I think the jury’s still out on whose record is strait. There seems to be twists & ugly communications on both sides- including media imo. I prefer to take it out of the Markle vs Markle realm & focus on the bigger picture of how the ruling might impact the rest of society, including countries outside UK. Mo

He has apparently supplied the court with financial records that support his claim to have paid all her tuition.

Markle's father owns the letter. He can do what he wants with it. It would be a strange world if I could give someone a gift and then, after the fact, dictate how the gift can be used.

Agree! And she owns the words. And the rest is what the court will decide regardless of any of our opinions. But again, this will have impact far beyond Markle & Markle & rag news. Hopefully the court will be completely void of the hostility & blinders that both sides of the argument seem to have & bring forth a sensible fair decision. Looking forward to that for sure.

Interesting article from 2016 about the royals and press intrusion. Does anyone know why in the past they have always gone to the press complaints commission and this time they have gone to court instead?

What I really appreciate about this article is that it brings it all back to the issues of privacy, libel, slander, etc., which is what I believe to be the core issues here, the heart of the matter. And that impacts us all, far beyond royals & celebrities. Who owns information? If someone shares a letter, photograph, artwork with someone, under what conditions can someone else profit off it? If I paint a picture and give it to a friend for Christmas, they can’t then use the image to create a logo for their website, even though I gifted the painting. And if I share photos of that painting with friends who tell others about it, it shouldn’t change things. I don’t perceive the letter much differently. This really isn’t about a family feud or who is lying about what, imo, so it ultimately doesn’t matter if you’re camp dad or camp daughter. It’s a way bigger issue. Moo, jmo, etc.

Sounds like she has some credibility, right? Charles' relationship with Camilla is a love story - no matter what, he couldn't get her out of his head, married her even though she was old and divorced with children.

I'm guessing she carefully vetted everything Markle's father said before publishing.
