Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex vs Associated Newspapers

  • #261
The regular British Taxpayer sees the duchy as their money (because Charles gets this mostly from the land) - It isn't true but the royals exist because we want them to and that's where the problem lies. The dress was too much, especially when she isn't going to wear it again. Not in an official role that she was able to get the dress through anyway.
But no, they didn't walk away because of bad press or privacy.

TMZ is worse than the UK tabs. They are more aggressive to get a picture.
The comments from Canada were that all the press was involved in trampling the neighborhood around the Sussexes, startling people by hiding in bushes, cars and trees.
TMZ is aggressive for sure, but MOO is just one of the pack.
Anyway DM pays the best, 25,000 an accepted photo.

Ah. So the English claim ownership of all the Royals assets. Well at least Harry and Meghan have a little separation.
Megan spent less on her wedding dress than Kate and more on her maternity dresses.
Still absolute bias, dishonesty and unfairnness in her treatment.

MOO the English are just too gullible or jaded to resist the drip, drip, drip of negative, out of context articles designed to provoke a little outrage.
This dress thing turns out to just like Frogmore. Press negativity over nothing, or more accurately, taken in context there was nothing outrageous, so it is unfair.

Which was the claim of first part of her lawsuit. One deemed irrelevant for the copyright but Judge Warby took the time in the ruling to say the claim could be pursued at a later time.

So it looks like the eco warriors are up in a 25,000 sq ft mansion in BeverlyHills. That's an awful lot of space and huge energy consumption for 3 people. Imagine the carbon footprint for that! When the newspapers call them out for their hypocrisy, preaching climate change and energy conservation, they will play the victim again and whine about being bullied. Maybe one day they will understand that the reason they get negative press is because they earn it. More examples here- Well done, Prince Harry, for talking about population – but ditch the private jets | John Vidal

Why are they paying for renovations that had to be done anyway.
They already paid for the actual remodeling.
Did you look at the cost of renovations made to the other residences like Royal Lodge?

M&H were modest in their choice of Frogmore.

Royal renovation costs compared – from Frogmore Cottage to Buckingham Palace

They are paying for changing Frogmore Cottage from several units to their private home because they wanted to live there, wanted it done their way. If they had remained where they were, Frogmore Cottage would have remained unchanged.

Please provide a link to where Meghan said she does not trust the court.

What? I was responding to your request to speculate on whether Markle could trust the courts.

Well they probably aren't using the whole house. It is the house of a friend. Being stalked 24/7, MOO the British and other stalking press should pay a fund to help defray the cost of people keeping away from them as its a big carbon footprint, and not just the royals.

I see, it was your opinion. I want clear in that, it seemed to me you said as a fact she does not trust the courts.

The coverage was negative because of her behavior.

Yes, I agree. IMO, She over estimated her power (lack of) and her popularity.
So now she's having to deal w/all the repercussions, and wants to blame everyone else...

It must be important for them to have their own space and not see each other. I wonder how Harry feels about the rejection of portions of Markle's lawsuit.

Not fair at all.
They dont get a house? So Royal Lodge 7 million, Kensington 4 million, Buckingham 396 million all and more get renovated, but then Harry is not supposed to have a house.
He chose one that had fallen into derelict condition and was already on the schedule for restoration. So whether or not H and M lived there, the structural restoration would be have been completed as planned.
H and M personally paid for the remodeling that was done on top of making the building habitable. Like the kitchen etc.

Do you not recall bringing up the issue about whether Markle could trust the courts?

As an example though, they should probably be driving a Prius or hybrid, not the Porsche or Escalade gas guzzlers they are using. You just cannot preach to people how they should live their lives being energy conscious, and then drive something like these cars, with their conspicuous consumption then plead Security when the British press reports it. They will just accuse media of carrying on a vendetta against them. Either they are totally unaware of how they are perceived by the public, or don't care. Rules do not apply to them. Do as I say, not as I do.

Have no idea, disappointed probably. He has his own suit going from his phone being hacked.

Who hacked the phone?

MOO fighting climate change isn't about wearing a hair shirt.

They are most definitely the targets of dishonest, unfair and biased press.
