Travalyst, led by PH was developed to "promote sustainable tourism". One of the features they recommend is using Skyscanner to determine the flight with the lowest CO2 emissions before booking ( with booking.com of course). No mention is made of CO2 emissions of private jets though, that I can find. They should check with PH if they should list those since he is a frequent private flyer. Although I think I know his answer will lbe an unbelievable, " I only do it to keep my family safe".

Wouldn't that be during normal booking times? They flew right as the Canadian US border shut.

Sustainable travel is his passion. Or not, depending on if a private jet is offered to him.
Booking.com the search engine that is part of Travalyst operates 24/7. Their flight out of Canada was at 0735 on March 14th. The border was not closed until March 20th at 23.59. Plenty of time to take a commercial flight - he could even have checked with Skyscanner.com to find the one with the lowest emissions.
You should not try so hard to defend the indefensible. Before you know it he will be promoting sustainable travel again ( for plebs, not him obviously) and will be irate if anyone points out his inconsistencies.

The border closure doesn't prevent people in Canada from flying to the USA. It does prevent people from the USA from going to Canada for non-essential reasons. Therefore, the closure had nothing to do with Markle and Harry moving to LA during a pandemic.

"That means, for example, that a Canadian who isn't showing symptoms of COVID-19 could be allowed to fly or sail to the United States.

However, an American trying to enter Canada for non-essential travel would be refused, say officials with the Canada Border Services Agency.

"We can't speak for the U.S., unfortunately," wrote CBSA spokeswoman Ashley Lemire. "For those trying to enter Canada, the restrictions for non-essential travel applies to ALL modes of travel."

I didn't know that. So they were under no pressure then, it was strictly a matter of choice and opportunity when they flew.

No pressure. They decided to move to LA for personal reasons. Canada closed borders to everyone who is not Canadian, the USA has not done that. Non-Canadians are free to leave Canada any time they want, but they cannot return.

That includes Harry - not allowed to enter Canada during pandemic.

In many ways, Canada was used and cast off in typical Markle fashion. They freeloaded off a Russian, living rent-free in his house on Vancouver Island for a few months, demanding that Canadians pay millions for their security. They gave nothing back. I haven't heard of a thank you from the couple to the Canadians for their generosity.

Their sense of entitlement is quite shameful, and certainly lacks the grace typically seen in the Royal Family during visits to Canada.

I'd really like to know who is paying the legal bill for the lawsuit, as it strikes me that they wouldn't do it if it cost them anything. They take whatever they can get their hands on and move on.

I have the same thoughts Otto pertaining to the lawsuit. I also think their sense of entitlement is shameful. They are pushing 40 and not early 20 year olds. I still cannot believe that 'Daddy' has to pay for their expenses. I have been supporting myself since I was 17 years old.

BTW, it was me that mentioned the 100k maternity dress. What a waste of money and it did not even look good. Some people work for years to earn 100k over a few years. Grrrr.

I think the DM just deftly revealed the names
of 4 of the 5 'very close friends' that talked to People mag. The 5th lives in Toronto IMO.

Indeed! Friends are part of the discussion and the lawsuit, and friends are identified in MSM. We don't know whether these are the Five Friends, but they could be.

"They include key figures in Meghan’s life such as long-term friends Benita Litt, Heather Dorak and Abigail Spencer.
...

The married mother-of-two was one of the first friends to visit Meghan on Vancouver Island after she and Harry announced they were stepping back from royal duties.
...

Meghan’s friend Serena Williams, also 38, lives in a neighbouring gated community."

This answers the question of whether they are again freeloading

"New York gossip column Page Six suggested the family were ‘house guests’, rather than renting the empty mansion"

Freeloading again in LA after freeloading in Canada for 5 months. I like this idea of financial independence.

This is one reason that I doubt Markle is paying legals costs. She doesn't want to pay for anything. There's also the point that the lawsuit was initiated when she was a member of the Royal Family - meaning all costs are covered.

If she's not paying lawyers, she has no reason to settle or to spare her friends. If the Royal Family is covering the costs, would that be the British Taxpayer?

Who is paying for the security? Prince Charles?

If one friend has to be thrown under the bus, I'm putting money on Mulroney. I think she has to be very careful in how she moves forward with this.

For an official working visit, not personal. No Hollywood directors onboard. Just the wife of the 2nd in line to the throne. Taking her to Northern Ireland does present particular security arrangements.
Also I don't recall her ever telling the public to monitor their own carbon footprints and think twice about travel while ignoring the same rules.

Gonna be $$$ if MM has to transport all 5 to London to testify. Maybe there's another private jet she can borrow from an influential friend.

If she wants to win this, she has to produce the 5 friends. If she's not paying, then she doesn't care about the cost. She'll probably agree that they can each fly by private jet to drive up the costs.
