I believe it was MG. My concern is that the tapes may have been tampered with and spliced. I would need to see that evidence presented in court in order to make a determination. I also need to hear the full context of the arguments, not just want Oksana has released and wants us to hear.

Sadly, I think this woman completely lost me with the picture of the baby pimple. The more info she releases the more she seems to lose credibility with me. If she has an attorney he needs to pull the reins on her... like... a few weeks ago.

Another thing to consider is that these tapes are being released in an out of order fashion, so it's hard to get a fix on the entire picture. When I heard the first tape I thought, "So what is he so mad about?" But I must admit, things don't look good for Mel. Then again, I don't consider Oksana a sweet innocent angel in this whole affair.

Thank you very much for pointing this out. I too have been confused about the order. In fact, I am still a little confused as to whether these tapes are from a single phone call or from various phone calls on different occasions.
If anyone can point me to some information on that, it would be helpful.

Leaving aside, for the moment, the question of whether the tapes were altered, my question is one of this nature:
a) if all the tapes are from a single event/phone call, it could be argued that this was a "one off" in the relationship ; an aberration. (I'm not saying it would be "true" simply that it could be argued that way by MG's lawyers. it might still be arguable that way, even if they were multiple phone calls, but on the same day/evening)

b) if the tapes were recorded on various occasions/dates, involving several phone calls, then of course, it represent a pattern, and could be appropriately argued as such by Oksana's lawyers.

The texts are almost irrelevant to me at this point. They don't prove anything definitively except that something happened, we're not exactly sure what, and Mel felt that he was unsafe to be around (this could refer to "emotional safety" as well as "physical" as anyone who has ever attended an Alanon meeting knows) and that he felt the need to apologize for that something.
The texts also do not convey human emotion and motive in the same way as a phone call, or a meeting in person. Additionally, it would be difficult to prove that MG was actually the one who entered the characters onto the phone and hit "send". This could have been done by anyone if Mel had left his phone unattended for more than a few minutes. The reverse is also true: it will be very difficult for MG"s lawyers to definitely prove that Oksana sent HER message saying he "broke their agreement", and thus attempting to prove extortion. All the texts, from both parties, should be thrown out in my opinion. Additionally, it could be argued on both sides, that the texts sent were sent via a PC. Anyone can send a text to any phone number, and claim it be from someone's phone number. Only a forensic analysis could prove it.

He doesn't deny knocking her teeth out, and now a text message has surfaced where he says "he's sorry, and have they been fixed yet?" Granted, we don't know if these texts are authentic, but as of yet - Mel hasn't denied the alleged allegations. Oksana MAY be responsible for pushing his buttons and other unbecoming behavior, but Mel is responsible for his own behavior in my opinion. Speaking to anyone like that is despicable and abusive, and physically harming anyone like that is also abusive AND criminal.

I agree with you. Thank you. I'm new here but I believe what you have said is indeed the spirit of this board, and I know I have been very fairly treated here, all in all.

I am a formerly battered woman so certainly it is not my "mission" to defend someone who clearly appears to be very objectionable as a human being. Having said that, even though I am a former victim, I still believe strongly that people, no matter their gender, their race, their nationality, their age, sex, whatever, are INNOCENT until proven guilty in a court of law. If that makes me naive, I would rather die and have "Naive" emblazoned on my headstone, than "Jaded and Corrupted."

We all have a duty to listen and hear the evidence from both sides. Questioning that evidence is part of being a good juror, and here we are only in the court of public opinion. I am glad I am not on an actual jury that will decide the fate of these very imperfect, very fallible human beings. That is a responsibility I do not want. I hope and pray for justice to be served, and for healing to begin.

well....not that I want to necessarily put this out here...I've been there as well...everything MG says sounds eerily familiar...the ongoing rants about dressing too provocative,the jealousy,his rage...I can very much relate...after years of it...after years of strengthening my self esteem,I did call the cops,this was after he broke almost every piece of furniture in our house and listening to the same old threats for the 1000's time...guess what the officer said? (when he arrived 2 hours after I called 911 for the fifth time with 2 small children locked in the bathroom) He said it was "his right",the property is in both of our names ,he can destroy it if he wants to.....
..he asked me "did he physically harm you?" ...and I said "no,not this time" ...and he said "well,there's nothing I can do"...and I asked "what right do I have?"...and he said "You have the right to leave" wow,just wow....MG's rants resemble rants of so many guys and I'm being completely objective....so many guys that may have money and power and may not...how many of these rants end up in crime scenes?...how many of these rants end up in dead woman and children because the man feel entitled,because the man feel they OWN them .Let me look at O. objectively if you like,let me paint her in the worst light possibly...she's an extremely gorgeous woman that may have married MG because of money and fame,that may have had a child with him so she could gain more money and fame....oh well,so what????...isn't it clear by the way MG speaks to her what he liked about her?..didn't he have an alternate motive waaaayyyyyy more sinister than money and fame? ...doesn't anyone here see that he only wanted her for sex?..He's disgusting.....and what about his racist comments ,do you guys want to argue objectively that black people pushed his buttons so it's ok for him to call them ? Are those texts real? What proof have we seen? Those are Oksana's leaks to Radar. I need more than her word for it.

As for the rage, death threats and racists remarks - so what? People say things when the are angry and drunk. It doesn't mean they act on them. Is it right? Of course not.

After I split from my ex he had a falling out with his sister. A woman who in my opinion is pure evil. They had a long history so this was just one more but it was the big one. He called her every name in the book and threatened to kill her in a drunken rage. She threatened to call the police. It was nasty. I lived with this man for 18 years and despite his verbal and emotional abuse and his drinking problem, he never laid a hand on me or my children nor threatened to kill any of us. So, you have a guy (my ex) going through a tough time (our split) and he gets drunk and flies off the handle with a person that brings out the worst in everyone around her. People do that. Knowing my ex I know he would NEVER have acted on those threats to his sister in a million years. He was not a physically violent person.

Gibson has no history of physically assaulting anyone and so far Oksana has not produced any evidence that he has -- at least that I have seen. When she produces it I will gladly evaluate it and try to make a fair determination. The pics of the baby pimple and the chipped veneers with no tissue damage to the mouth or gums did not convince me any violent beating took place. And if those tapes are doctored in any way they do not mean that much to me either.
