That's the place that is nicknamed "The Rose Garden." I believe Gibson lives in Malibu. I can't keep track anymore.

Until those tapes are ruled authentic I'm not taking sides. Who hasn't said mean things when they're fighting, this girl sounds like she's reading at times. I know I'm gonna get replies for this but some of what he said IMO sounded really funny.

It almost sounded like they were in cahoots with each other, and they were cold reading a (bad) screenplay.

I'm just intrigued that it is being alleged that all of those tapes were made in one day. One day!. What happened? If you listen to them again that they were made in one day actually makes sense. "Don't hang up" etc.

After listening to these tapes, I agree. Maybe Mel's mind has blurred the line between movie acting and real life. I'm almost not joking!

Saw this on another board. An interesting clip from The View at the 4:00 mark. They transcribe the argument between O and MG. MG's words are transcribed in white:

He says: "you hit me... you were hitting me"

She then responds loudly with "Your sick etc. etc." That is when he flies off the handle.

It seems to have been overlooked because O's voice is so much louder.

my uncle that raised me, and who i still live with, is prone to go off on tirades occasionally. he says all kind of crazy stuff and blows off steam, then is the most loving of men. he hasnt had one of these tirades in a few years, mellowed with age, i reckon.

only difference is the racist/sexist part, so i am still disappointed with MG. i always thought he was a family man.

Mira, people say all kinds of things when they are angry and it does not mean they will act on them or even believe them. I know a few people like this - and they would be he first person to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

In my younger days I worked in advertising with some very privileged Miss Porter's School WASPS. They were all upset because a friend of theirs who was a wealthy publishing heir had married an Italian girl. I am Italian but I do not look Italian and my maiden name sounds WASP. They referred to this girl as a "greasy ginzo." Little did they know I was also a "greasy ginzo." I did not say a word. How could I shame them more than they had shamed themselves? I don't take most people's rants all that seriously - mostly they come from insecurity, upbringing, anger. Of course there are some exceptions. Some people are truly dangerous. Regarding MG's sexism - I recall when he referred to a police officer as "sugart!ts." If were a police officer pulling over an intoxicated man and he referred to me as that, I would have to stifle a laugh.

Well, unfortunately, they likely have no clue they have "shamed themselves" since no one called them out on what they have said. I realize it is hard to call out your supervisor or a co-worker when they say something like this, but what exactly makes this a good story to use in defending Mel Gibson? I really am having a hard time understanding why some posters here are bending over backwards trying to excuse Mel's alleged rants, at the same time blaming the girl. I understand he is a big movie star, and some people put movie stars on pedestals as if they were god-like and can do no wrong, but still.

It's because this is a crime board that people are trying to be objective. It's not bending over backwards, it's trying to look at facts without an emotional response. Would you like my view of some celebrity cases to prove this is not about stardom: OJ, guilty. Robert Blake, guilty. Phil Spector, guilty. Charlie Sheen, guilty (even of things we don't know about). Michael Jackson, unsure. Did I miss anyone? I'll let you know what I thought.

Facts regarding this case.

. O being investigated for extortion.
. O didn't contact LE about abuse that involved her oldest son being thrown into a table at a party 1 year ago. No witnesses have come forward
.O leaked evidence photos of physical abuse, laughable
.O violated gag order and leaked possibly altered tapes
. O's first attorney quit on her after being reprimanded by a judge regarding this case. Attorney's arguments were called "disingenuous at best" and "very disturbing."
.O continually leaking stories to the media that are fantastical and quickly proven wrong and confirmed by LE.
.O allegedly recorded Gibson on a single day. Not over time.


.M on tape, in a rage making racist comments, threats (cause of fight unknown and authenticity of tapes unknown)
.M still has visitation despite evidence that was presented in court.

Well I hope he has something to show for it. Considering a photo showing her broken teeth didn't impress many here, I hope he's got photos of himself covered in blood gashing everywhere, teeth broken, black eyes, etc, etc, etc.
