Melody Stanton and "the scream"

I don't see how it is ridiculous. They were rich, and had access to high-powered attorneys. These attorneys have further connections. I don't think they had to influence hundreds of people either.

Patsy couldn't even get her housekeeper to take her side but total strangers whose careers could be made from this case and who work in law enforcement were ALL so easily manipulated and have remained so for nearly 20 years.

Ridiculous

So you don't think rich people ever get away with crimes? If you do, how do you think that happens?

It's not that I think it's impossible for them to have influenced some people, it's the large number of different people this theory relies on them manipulating. Their lawyers, the entire DA office, the Stantons, Joe Burnhill, Burke and their other two kids, three of JARs friends, Lou Smit, members of the police department and on and on.....

Apparently the only one they weren't able to brainwash was Kolar.

It's ridiculous after a while.

For me I'd like to know why two different witnesses who changed corroborating stories were not intensely investigated.

That's a huge red flag in a criminal investigation.

How do two different people misremember the same wrong story???

"Large numbers of people they were able to influence"

Your list of potentially influenced people contain many that wouldn't need to be "brainwashed"

*anyone in the family wouldn't need to be brainwashed
* their lawyers? That one makes no sense to me
*people in DAs office. There is a wealth of info documenting the close ties between the DA and the Rs attorneys. And no one has said the entire DAs office was corrupt, a look at Kane's interviews gives a good example of that.
*Lou Smit...came to his conclusion, IDK how, but he came to his conclusion very quickly (well documented), and he is most certainly guilty of ignoring critical evidence. I am not saying he is corrupt, or inept. It is what it is

So IMO the list of brainwashed people is actually pretty short.

Why would the housekeeper EVER take Patsy's side? She was the first person they pointed the finger at. And the list of people they pointed their finger at was long, very long.

No, I just think in this case it is a ridiculous premise and that it's melodramatic and unnecessary.

I have my own theory about Patsy doing it which I posted and am waiting for approval on. But it doesn't require a conspiracy theory of a gaggle of corrupt law enforcement to have happened.

I've often wondered whether this was Patsy's or Jonbenet's scream.

I have wondered the same.

I believe Mrs Stanton had been questioned about this. She was asked whether she was positive the scream was a child's scream, because frankly, I could absolutely see Patsy screaming on discovery (or realization) of what had happened to JB. Mrs. Stanton was adamant that it was a child's scream, saying "I think I know what a child's scream would sound like" (or words to that effect)

How can someone be "so sure" about the sound and then parlay that into "Jonbenet's energy calling out." It's just ridiculous

Did they ask her whether she thought it might be a coyote or a fox scream?
