Go back and read the post and you'll see all the questions.

I've read all the posts. What question is it that you think I didn't answer ... I'll do my best to get the right answer.

Another interesting theory from that book I'm reading, that I mentioned above.

I guess it's his theory that the police told AK that she had HIV to get her to list her partners, because they'd wanted to trick her into listing RG, but she didn't, of course.

I'd never even given that any kind of consideration, though I'd certainly wondered why they'd tell her something like that and return to say "never mind."

You're right. She wasn't tricked into naming Rudy, and she wasn't even tricked into naming Raffaele. The guys she named were other guys. She did name the guy downstairs ... and others. Funny thing is that she went on and on with Patrick and her roommates about PJ or JP (the climbing guy in Japan) saying that she felt guilty about cheating on him with Raffaele, implying that she was in a relationship with him. She recently broke up with him so she was single ... with a lot of guys ... besides Raffaele. Weird that Knox told so many people that she was still seeing the guy from Seattle when they both accepted that their lives were going in different directions ... and were no longer seeing each other.

The prison doctor didn't tell her that she had HIV to get her to list her sexual partners. The doctor told her that tests came back positive, but that it was probably a false positive and not to worry. She went back to her room and tried to figure out how she got AIDS ... listed her partners and methods of contraception in her prison diary. Not surprisingly, the prison diary was confiscated.

Several people have alluded to a true copy of the court documents regarding the Perugia-Shock blog that was recently yanked off the internet.

Does anyone have a link to these documents?

For clarification, is it going to be okay to link to the cached and ripped versions of the Perugia-Shock website that was removed from the internet, via court order, on this website?

Rudy was on trial for murder, and his lawyer had to protect his rights. When Joe Tacopina started publicly mouthing off about how Rudy was obviously guilty, Rudy's lawyer had a responsibility to protect his rights. Perhaps it's okay for Joe Tacopina to mouth off in New York, but mouthing off in Italy does not seem to be allowed. I think Italy has made that much clear to everyone following the murder of Meredith Kercher. It doesn't really matter if Tacopina was stating an opinion, it had the appearance of attempting to influence the course of justice.

protecting rudy's rights or favors for a friend?

"Mignini is considered an optimal prosecutor," Biscotti told the P-I recently. "As a man of law and resident of Perugia, I cannot accept these unjust criticisms of Italian magistrates and the judicial system coming from Seattle."

Cover letter for the order

Perugia-Shock website attached to the court order.

here is a link:
“I didn’t defame Mignini,” Frank said. “He doesn’t like drugs. I know very well that he keeps a stable house. I just said who he trusted. And it’s not my fault if his witnesses are into drugs! Next time, pick better people.

So you think that Rudy's lawyer filed a lawsuit against Joe Tacopina because the prosecutor was in bed with Rudy's lawyer?

Which link is the link to the Italian court order from the Court in Florence?

Again, could we please have clarification whether links to Perugia-Shock, even though it has been removed from the internet by court order, are acceptable on this website? There is a court order removing the site from the internet. I am looking for clarification as to whether this website will continue to link to cached and ripped versions of the Perugia-Shock website - thereby circumventing the court order - or abide by the court order. We are still looking for a copy of the court order but the understanding at this time is that a court order has required that the original site be removed from the internet ... and it has been removed.

Meredith Kercher is the victim in this murder.

How far are people willing to go to go against the jury's decision regarding the verdict?

looks like a good way to score some extra points ... after all, Biscotti was in the process of having Rudy's sentence reduced

Exactly. That can't be repeated often enough as you would think otherwise reading this thread. I will say this though. If they are acquitted on appeal I will admit that the evidence wasn't strong enough to convict.

Now, lets see if any of the conspiracy theorists has got the balls to admit the evidence was strong enough if they are convicted on appeal. Any takers? :)

Yes, there is some hypocrisy there, isn't there? Mignini's lies are "part of his work" (albeit the part which got him convicted on a felony) and little Amanda's are the result of her evil soul. :maddening:
ETA: The only sort of lies that bother me - as we indeed all tell white lies - are the destructive ones, the big ones, the constant ones, the devious ones intended to oppress or rob others.

Part of the problem with police interrogation is that in Italy--as in the United States--police are allowed to lie at will without consequence (except for a few, specific offenses) while suspects are expected to stick strictly to the truth and any errors are held to be signs of guilt.

The primary problem with this system isn't that it is unfair, but that it allows interrogators to create a fictional world where almost any response by the suspect has to be a lie.

This is oversimplified, but think of the classic question, "Have you stopped beating your wife?" This is a logically invalid question, but one that LE is allowed to ask. It assumes a fact not necessarily proven, yet leaves the respondent no answer that doesn't confirm the faulty assumption.

honors or not, every person who writes creatively is not a born writer. Know what I mean? you have to have a flare for creative writing. It doesn't really come from books or studying, though you can study enough to do it successfully. Just like people who have musical gifts but can study to sing or play and instrument, I guess, is what I'm trying to say.

I haven't read the writings, because they are not relevant to the case, and I don't really understand why they keep being brought up today. I'm not beefing about it, but thought I'd add to the discussion, since it's going on and on. I know you didn't start it, but I don't see the need to grade her writing skills or discuss her writing. I'd rather grade her inability to have committed this crime, cause I think she gets about A in that.

The writings are brought up again and again because it is increasingly apparent there is little to no evidence against AK or RS. So we hear a lot about short stories, cartwheels and other irrelevant stuff.

In Cold Blood took years to write and pretty much destroyed the author in the process. That is not the same "crime novel" trash that we are seeing today - no comparison. Dostoevsky is as dry as Kafka. Sure they say something about politics, justice, crime, culture, society and so much more, but Preston is not in the same league anymore than Amanda is in the same league. If you see Preston and Knox as in the same leagues as Mark Twain and famous Russian authors ... great. My opinion drastically differs.

BBM: You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but apparently literature isn't your field.

For the record, it wasn't the writing of In Cold Blood that devastated Capote, it was his relationship with the killers. And whatever its effect on the author, it didn't turn him into a killer.

That work has rarely been equaled, but there is plenty of quality crime writing being produced today. The point was that violent subject matter isn't incompatible with quality writing.

That's incorrect. In fact, my opinion of Knox, Sollecito and Guede is based solely on following the trials. Patrick knows Amanda, and stated that she is not evil, she simply has no soul. Dempsey added that to her book. You're not thinking that reading Dempsey means I'm influenced by tabloid press are you?

Dempsey isn't all you've read.

Lumumba's nonsense is understandable given the trouble AK caused him, but there is no reason to believe it. It doesn't even make sense.

Rather like your own description of AK as dull, but violent and perverse. One imagines you huddled over your thesaurus, simply making a list of random, negative adjectives.

You may admit what you like, but I don't devote the hours I've spent here just to accept a jury verdict without question. I can make up my own mind.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the book description of his meeting with Prosecutor Mignini ... or did you not find the 2 and 3 hours questioning odd?
Well, I must admit, from what I recall of reading Preston's account of the interrogation, it did not seem all that long. Of course , he may have abbreviated. I do recall his saying Mignini kept saying, "You said this, Dottoro, now you say THAT!". And that Mignini was soft spoken, sweet, apologetic at the beginning, and suddenly became loud, angry, brash, and confused the hell out of Preston. But I do think Preston's writing style, the rhythm of it, his choice of words, is excellent.

This statement that "Meredith Kercher is the victim", which I have seen on many sites for many months, has always puzzled me. Of course she is a victim. No one in their right mind could dispute this, or fail to have deep sympathy for her and for her family. But if Knox and Sollecito are wrongly accused, they too are victims. Presumably suffering more than MK, if you believe in justice beyond. If the jury upholds the convictions, I will still feel they have done so in error, from all I have read. Otto, if I am murdered, and you are wrongly accused of it and put in prison, will you not also feel victimized?

Always impressed with the clarity of Nova's writing!

Steve Moore said it:
"He also slammed Italian authorities for their initial interrogation of Knox, which he likened to tactics used by "third-world intelligence agencies."
