It rather interesting that all those kids testifying at the Casey Anthony trial know how to dress appropriately for court.

Quite seriously by who?
Read the piece, and decide for yourself by whom it is being taken seriously............ (just kidding)

Oh I think AK has 'seen the light' regarding behavior and attire in court... maybe a little too late.

Doesn't all that 'stuff' come from that guy Girlanda? IMO he is out of his 'department' and doesn't know squat about the case anyway.

Right ... Girlanda is that married politician that visited Amanda too often and then wrote a book where he was dreaming about Amanda.

It is something she can use to argue that now she's all grown up, rehabilitated and no longer inclined to murder roommates.

Yes, I thought it was nice that Tony L wore a shirt and tie, and the girls wore dresses. So many people these days do not take the courts seriously. Being a big watcher of Court TV/In Session, I have seen people amble in all disheveled and casual. Not very good. As I once said, I think Amanda prided herself on being the "Seattle hippie girl" but it was not so good back then for her image.

I realize which group is taking it seriously... only they have not been able to influence the Italian court so far, much to their disappointment.

The ante has been upped..............

You could also turn that around a bit:

Since the defense representative was there and was broadcast to Italians... would they do anything to sabotage/hurt the case right in front of them?

How does that make any sense whatsoever? Are you saying you're rubber and I'm glue?

The point is that ILE allowed the media to film the techs working. Perhaps unfairly, finding "nothing" on national TV would be very embarrassing to ILE. (Are you old enough to remember Geraldo and Al Capone's vault?)

But instead, ILE not only finds something, they find the "smoking gun" (against RS) and pass it around for the benefit of the camera.

One has to suspect they knew this would be the outcome, which means the bra clasp was found earlier and who knows how much it was handled then?

The defense rep may have been there, but he wasn't doing anything but observing. How could he influence what ensued, even if he wanted to play for the cameras?

Not only was it broadcast live, and not only did they happen to find the the key piece of forensic evidence against Rafaelle in that broadcast, but it was the day after his family revealed on TV that the bloody prints ILE had matched to his shoes were not a match at all. So, in other words, the day after Raf's family proved the evidence tying their son to this crime was false, ILE pulls the bra clasp out on national TV. That's a huge coincidence.

Indeed. So what I said above times a thousand!

Would a high conviction rate indicate that the prosecutor is particularly excellent at his or her job, or that he or she likes to persecute the innocent?

Prosecutors are officers of the court doing a job. They're qualified before they're hired ... it has nothing to do with me.

It could indicate either. I just said some might find it a relevant and fair piece of info.

In what universe is everyone hired for any job "qualified"?

Doesn't it bother you and otto to think AK was convicted--even in part--because of the way she dressed?

  • #713
No because I KNOW that is not why she was convicted.

But just like in the casey anthony case... behavior and attitude is RELEVANT but not the TELL-ALL regarding the case.

Fair enough. But maybe it's time to stop mocking her clothing.

Yeah, read what was written in the article. I don't recall saying anything about the 'others'.

I read the article and saw nothing implying he is "out of his department" or that he "doesn't know squat about the case". Please cite which parts of the article indicated that to you.

So now Raffaele's lawyer is trying to mix politics with law?

Can you explain what Rafaelle's lawyer has to do with this?

  • #717
Quite seriously by who?

Are you sure you're reading the same article?

11 lawmakers, all members of Premier Silvio Berlusconi's coalition. It asks Alfano to consider sending inspectors to judicial offices in Perugia — a move that is considered very serious in Italy and is typically read as a sign of discontent from Rome.

I have never, ever suggested that Knox, Sollecito and Guede were convicted because of the way they dressed, their gymnastics, or any other ridiculous attention getting tactic they used.

Let's put it on the record, one more time, that those murderers were convicted based on the evidence presented in court. That is the one and only reason that I believe they were convicted.

I don't think so. It is relevant that Knox and her family attended court as though they were dressed for the beach. This speak directly to the fact that they did not respect the Italian court process - that they wanted everyone to think that it was a big joke.

He's got the hots for Knox.
