CBS of course. The Daily Beast is one of the few that has maintained some objectivity. Most US media didn't get much further then 'how is Amanda doing?' and 'how is the family holding up?'. None has ever questioned Amanda's innocence. Never the question 'could she have done it?'. All just following the PR media spin campaign setup by the Knox/Mellas family. Whatever sells best I suppose. JMO.

Amanda already confessed after about 2 hours of questioning. The reason was that her boyfriend dropped her alibi after just half an hour of questioning. It was all about how she would babble herself out of that situation. She got stuck. So she accused her boss just to buy some time.

I remember that, it makes me go Hmmmmm.......

BBM: "Whatever sells best" ... and that's what the Knox Family did -- hire a PR Firm for "THEIR" Media Tour ...

Oh, and I forgot about RS when he said that Amanda had NOT spent the night at his apartment ...

Hmmm ...

bolds by me

one: this is also what I think. I think knox is somewhat unlikable. this does not make her a murderer or an accomplice to a murder. hubby and I've been going over this case today as he isnt too familiar, we agreed she would never be a friend of ours...but this is not a reason to jail her unfairly which we think is what happened.

second bold: this is why I could never come off the fence about their guilt maybe even if there was stronger forensic - who meets someone and less than two weeks later they get together and murder someone? that just is so not logical.

there would have to be strong forensic evidence IMO to ever shake me off the feeling that there is no way they would do this together, only knowing each other a week or two.

This was one of my issues with it as well---aside from poor physical evidence, it just seemed outlandish that AK and RS, newly dating, would somehow meet up with RG whom they didn't know, and then proceed to horrendous sexual violence just out of the blue like that. And female on female sexual violence with a knife?? Just seems incredibly rare and that to get to that point there would have been SOME sort of sign..some sort of progression on AK's part.

Does anyone know of a good factual website to read up on this case, or a reliable timeline? Obviously I've heard about it over the years, but haven't followed closely and it seems like there is a lot of confusing misinformation out there.
Thanks!

I posted this link sometime yesterday - it's not very in-depth but seems objective enough:

There is no truely objective one. There are several, both for and against. You kind of have to read both sides in order to pull out facts and compare and contrast. Makes it very time consuming.

Or you could just read here. Our sleuths have argued every point over and over and done a really good job of it :)

Salem

Well, said Salem!

But, to get a good overview I started with Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-Grinberg_p3-36

Then I went to... http://www.injusticeinperugia.org/index.html

Next, I read through the info on http://truejustice.org/ee/index.php

But, I have to agree the sleuths here have argued every point!

After years in an Italian prison, Knox speaks flawless Italian. If she's released, I bet she will never want to speak it again.

I was gonna ask if anyone who speaks Italian can tell us how well she's speaking it now? It sounds good to me but I don't speak Italian so of course I can't say lol.

I speak Spanish, not Italian but I am good with language, accents, etc and Italian being close, I can understand a lot. Her accent is almost impeccable. She is speaking clearly such that the translator has no problem translating. She appears confident in her ability to express herself and is expressing complex feelings. She is using complex verb forms. She also appears to have acquired an Italian manner of gesturing when speaking, to emphasize her words.

There is nothing to indicate, to me, that she is not 100% fluent at this time.

Thanks for sharing this! I went to the link... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...Knox-Guilty-or-innocent-five-reasons-why.html

But, after reading the article it still surprises me how journalist can get information WRONG! Grrrr...

My comments below are in RED

1. FIVE REASONS KNOX IS GUILTY

1) The confession. (Ruled inadmissable! )

2) The false accusation. (Coerced/suggested by policed and prosecutor and obtained in a confession that was ruled inadmissable!)

3.) The alibi (It was suggested to RS to imagine how he can't be SURE Amanda was there at his flat all night because he was sleeping.)

4.) Computer and telephone records (Computer records were lost by POLICE when they were examining computer. Because of this, it could not be proven RS told the truth.) :banghead:

5.) The staged break-in (Independent experts appointed by the appeal Judge testified the crime scene was consistent with a breakin.)

It is no wonder everyone is so confused by this case! YIKES! :furious:

I found the revelation in Amanda's statement to the court, that when asked by police to name any suspicious people hanging around the cottage that she could only describe Rudy in appearance but did not know his name, to be a very strong piece of evidence that should help her.

Anyone wondering why she accused Patrick or a black man in general should know that police mistook the message in her phone to Patrick saying "see you later" to mean a meeting, and therefore thought she was lying about staying at Raffaele's for that reason.

Anyone wondering why after that point she didn't just keep resisting police's demands that she had left and gone to the cottage should know that the interpreter/police insisted that she was for a fact at the cottage but didn't remember because she must have been traumatized by witnessing the murder. We know this happened because Amanda was able to recount the interpreter's own personal story of being traumatized after an accident.

After that, anyone who thinks Patrick being arrested and incarcerated for two weeks was only Amanda's fault should wonder why police didn't question the reliability of the statements, given that she said the memory felt "unreal" and wrote a letter hours after the interrogation in which she recounts the events of that night and never mentions Patrick going to the cottage or even herself.

That simply isn't an accurate statement. There was a lot of questions about Amanda's part in what happened in the beginning. As time went on and Seattle media spoke to family and friends, her background was checked, school records but nothing ever showed up that would led people to believe Amanda was what the Italian LE were saying- so yeah then media here supported her more than throwing her to the wolves.

Really not sure why the media caring about the Knox family is a bad thing- unless you want to admit that British Press has attacked the family for supporting their daughter while Meridith father had full media reign to condemn any and everything that went against perspective of the case-

Funny but it is the people of Seattle and the media here that has always kept Meridith's name in a spot light (not so much with RS) It is supporters of AK and RS who have pictures of all three young people displayed front and center candles burning and prayers being said for all three.

The fact is I am tired of Seattle and my country being attacked because they question this case- this very glaring example of all the wrong that can happen in the Italian system- (don't pop a cork as the same media and people here questioned what happened in FL as well)

But I have to admit some of the media here formed biased views on the Italian case- you know after a power crazed man tried to bring charges against them for doing their job in their own country..

Right, but they cover the counterpoints in the next section - innocent.

Yes, they did. And I probably should have put the 5 "Innocent" points they gave in my post. I just couldn't believe what they put as the "Guilty" points... Given, the truth has come out in the Appeal. As it stands the Guilty Points that were listed are NOT even accurate/valid points to make. :waitasec:

I do have serious concerns about the Italian justice system. Right now, a bunch of scientists are on trial for manslaughter for failing to predict an earthquake: http://articles.cnn.com/2011-09-20/...nology-l-aquila-seismic-activity?_s=PM:EUROPE

The lead prosecutor in the Kercher case was found guilty of corruption and had interrogated a crime writer who was writing about a slew of murders over there, and accused the writer of murder. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/10/03/earlyshow/main20114649.shtml

Michael McCarty and his son have been in legal limbo in Italy for years after the mother kidnapped Liam, despite the fact that she has been declared unfit by the Italian courts and Michael has been granted full custody, in Italy, by the same court. Liam is still not home, and he only gets visitation with his father. It has been four years. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/40923.../t/dad--year-custody-fight-italy-clings-hope/

I defended the Italian legal system strongly at the beginning of this case, saying that European courts are not much different from ours and that our sense of nationalism causes us to be unfairly suspicious of foreign legal systems. (My folks are European so I have experience with what goes on over there). But after years of seeing this stuff, I have come to realize that there are major problems in the justice system in Italy. One more reason for me to question Knox's verdict.

:waitasec:

I just thought of something that y'all :innocent: MIGHT agree with me on :innocent: ...

IF Amanda is released ... it is my opinion that she will "boot" Casey Anthony out of news coverage for a while ...

And AK will probably get all sorts of "interviews ... "movie deals" ... "book deals" ...

:seeya: Bye Casey ...

Anyone ?

MOO ...
