Do not like what the Italian citizen says on Youtube :( May follow them tomorrow, though...

http://storyful.com/stories/1000008901Italy awaits Knox verdict - YouTube

Actually, regardless of the Italian citizen's opinion on her guilt (and notice how...dispassionate he was about that) he had a very good point - on both sides, this trial has gone far outside the normal processes and very often has little to do with the truth.

The reporter sounded like she's been smokin a little of AK & RS's dope, though - seriously, if she showed any less enthusiasm, people would be checking her for a pulse.

SMK I love your posts on this case but stop being a nervous Nelly it's freaking me out.
lol
Look at it this way, we have no control over what is going to happen, and this world is filled with injustice and always has been so I would not be surprised if another injustice happened tomorrow or this week and the convictions were upheld.
I hope that science (lack of DNA or physical evidence connection) wins out over talk of over sexed she devils and witches. I'm prepared either way.

I had thought the same thing, and feel like contacting Reuter's to see if I can apply as a reporter---I could do better than that, even half asleep.:furious::crazy:

Hi there, everyone. I mainly lurk on this thread, but I was wondering if anyone knew the approximate time everything is getting started over there. I guess she still has to make her statement, then there's the deliberation, right? Just thinking that with the time difference, this will all likely be over fairly early in our day here in the US... TIA!

I have always believed Amanda was innocent of murder (of being young and stupid not so much)
I live outside of Seattle so if people want to call me biased so be it but the truth is there just wasn't evidence of guilt and the Prosecution started leaking unflattering information about Amanda way to soon a pretty good indication they were not sure of their case and wanted public opinion on their side.
Not sure I understand the venom being spouted about Amanda's family - I would have told every media outlet I could find that my daughter was innocent, why anyone believes the Knox's shouldn't is beyond me. Million dollar PR firm? not so much- they have probably spent a million on the trial and on their support of Amanda- the back and forth from Seattle to Italy alone amounts to a small fortune- the family is broke, and when I say family I mean even her grandmother is broke.
This may be unpopular but it is bugging me- Meridith is the victim here I don't believe anyone has forgotten that- but this is AMANDA's appeal so it should be about Amanda and the evidence.
I find how the system works in other countries to be fascinating - and usually I can find something I think is good about them- but the Italian system is nothing short of terrifying- the power the prosecutor has is in it's self something to fear- (the man didn't like what Seattle media said about him so he tried to charge them with a crime- not for something reported in Italy but for stories done here in Seattle- that is not only scary but shows how this man believes he is above everyone)

OK all that said I do believe this was a case tried and decided in the media and it was the Italian prosecutor who fine tuned the media.
I am afraid that even with Italian opinion on the case changing I think the prosecutor has made it clear if the verdict tomorrow is anything other than a win for him it will look bad for the country- wow think about that, he just took this to a whole new level and pretty much threatened the panel.
The Knox family is very optimistic especially Amanda's sisters and I am really afraid that to prevent the country from looking bad to the world they will give Amanda life not her freedom- God I hope I'm wrong, because I don't think Amanda will survive without hope.

From what I have been hearing via journalist tweets, the Judge has ordered lunch and dinner, and deliberations may go into the night. They are 6 hours ahead of New York,(EST) so if it is 9 pm there, will be 3 pm here; midnight there, 6 pm here, etc. Amanda, Raff, and Mrs. Kercher will address the court in the morning, I presume.

Nice post; yes, this is about Knox and Sollecito, not the victim; I hope you are wrong, too.

Thankfully, the murderer of Meredith Kercher is in prison, though not for nearly long enough. Rudy Guede is the sole perpetrator of this heinous and evil crime.

It does the Kercher family and Meredith, especially, no good to convict 2 innocent people of her murder. The Kercher family should take solace in knowing their daughter's/sister's murderer was caught and is behind bars. No one forgets who the victim is here.

But now there are 2 additional victims who have been wrongfully accused and convicted. Thank goodness Patrick Lumumba wasn't convicted. Now with AK and RS, those wrongs can be and must be righted for there to be justice in this case. If only RG's sentence could be made into a life sentence!

Hey I hope I'm wrong too, heck I was wrong about Casey Anthony.

I actually feel really bad for Meredith's family that the case wasn't handled in a less sensationalistic way and that they got the prosecutor the did because I just think anything that man does will be called into question- he isn't an honorable man and I think this trial was always about him redeaming himself not about Meredith.

I agree. Did not serve the victim well, nor the defendants.:furious:

I think I remember us discussing the fact that a guy wearing an unusual jacket was captured on the TV in the time before Meredith supposedly arrived. The jacket was expensive and atypical and Rudy stated he had that jacket but it was purchased for him after the murder. Which is weird, right? Am I remembering that correctly?

Another thing I was just thinking of: maybe the toilet bomb hoax wasn't so oddly coincidental after all. Maybe Rudy fled, racing along the road to get away, and he runs into, of all people, the police. They are there investigating the toilet bomb hoax. He then dumps anything on him that he thinks would connect him to the murder.

About 40 minutes before Meredith came home, the car park camera captured a man in a dark coat. It wasn't all that unusual, but did look like the one Rudy had when he was arrested. The Italian magazine Oggi had an article about this in September of 2009. It may have been Rudy, or just some guy that parked his car.

On the next point, your theory has a lot going for it. The toilet bomb hoax occurred around 10 pm. The police response would have been sometime later. When Rudy left the cottage, he would not want to run into anyone. His direct path home is on a fairly busy street and goes past the basketball court where he hangs out. An alternative is through the park outside the city walls. There is a side gate in the wall less than a block from Rudy's apartment, but it would have been locked. The trail comes down to the road before going up to a gate that is open all night. Right across the road is the entrance to the villa where the cell phones were found.

Knox prepares final speech to prove her innocence
By Peter Popham in Perugia
Monday, 3 October 2011

It will be the last chance they have to prove to the court that they had nothing to do with the murder of Ms Kercher, who was Knox's British flatmate.

If the bench decides to give weight to the opinion of the court-appointed forensic experts, who ruled that the evidence on which Knox and Sollecito were convicted was unreliable, it is possible that the pair could be freed.

But there are many more elements in contention than just forensic evidence – in this case, the clasp of Kercher's bra and a kitchen knife found in Sollecito's flat that the prosecution claimed was the murder weapon.

Above all, there is the persona and character of Knox herself, the object of fierce contention by both sides in the original trial and during the appeal that followed. She admitted that she smoked cannabis on the night the murder was committed and she was said to be casual about hygiene and housework. She had had several lovers since arriving in Italy.

It's not blood. It's a chemical used by the forensic examiners. The bathroom looked clean to any reasonable student definition of clean when Amanda took the shower.

You might like to ask why this grossly misleading picture was released to the media, inviting the publication of stories claiming that Amanda had showered in a bathroom that looked like a slaughterhouse.

Thank you for the answer.I was looking at that photo wondering how in the hell Amanda could take a shower in that bathroom.I also thought it looked more pinkish as opposed to the color of dried or drying blood.

No that isn't how the bathroom looked when Amanda took her shower.

You're right of course. I see a blood-soaked room every week of my working life, and how it looks as it's cleaned up, and that pinkish colour is way wrong.

So the verdict will be guilty with time served and that means the Italian court system is saving face? I didn't click on the link ... is it about guilty with time served? ... like guilty with no time? ... something different? ... like overturn the verdict but admit no guilt? Guilty but free? Free and no guilt?

This post should surprise me but alas it does not.

How does one attempt to describe something at a link that one does not listen to?
