We do know where they got it from:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-scene-reveal-apartment-bloodbath-horror.html

So why did the police give them a photo of a bathroom covered in pink dye?

We can debate whether a UK tabloid publishes facts again. That tabloid claimed that Knox was fired from La Chic because she was seducing the customers. It must be true.

I'm a little surprised that the discussion is not about current events - like the final arguments made last week.

We have no idea where the photos came from and whether that was one photo amongst 100 or simply one photo. Regardless, it was the newspaper that published the statement that it was a blood covered bathroom. Perhaps that newspaper should be more responsible if people are taking their sensationalism seriously.

Not quite true. Many reporters have stated that they received information from PLE. In fact one conversation that comes to mind was the round table with Pisa, Nadeau, et al

ETA In fact Pisa stated something to the effect that if you can't believe the prosecution why would you need to confirm the source

If the preference is that we assume everything published by the Dailymail.uk is fact, it's okay by me. That certainly opens the doors for a lot of very concerning remarks about Knox.

Knox was actually fired by Patrick for hitting on customers.

"I fired <modsnip> for hitting on customers ... For four weeks he had quietly tolerated her wild mood swings, crass sexual innuendo and complete unwillingness to do any work so terminating her employment was, on the face of it, a wise decision. ... To be evil you have to have a soul. "Amanda doesn't. She's empty; dead inside. She's the ultimate actress, able to switch her emotions on and off in an instant. I don't believe a word she says. Everything that comes out of her mouth is a lie. But those lies have stained me for ever ... Her statements to police have changed four times, the only aspect of her complex personality remaining consistent being her extraordinary envy of her friend and room-mate, Meredith.

Both instances are the same. They're both misleading information which swayed public opinion against Knox.

We're talking about the photo because someone who hasn't frequented this thread thought it was real, directly countering this post you made a while back which is what set the whole debate in motion:

When you refer to the pink bathroom photo, how was that false? Surely no one thought that pink powder was blood!

Hence my nervousness. Amanda is not well-spoken, IMHO. She is kind of flaky and scattered in thought and speech. I thought her statements in her last trial did not do her any favors. Rather than declare herself innocent, she said things like, "I fear being given the mask of (killer or murderer or monster)." I personally thought that sounded weird. Who cares what someone CALLS you...the important point is that you didn't commit the murder, there is no evidence tying you to the murder room, and there was no motive, the timeline doesn't fit, and everything else was manufactured. THOSE are the important points--not what one fears being called.

She needs to hammer to that jury that their own court-appointed scientific experts debunked each piece of physical evidence that implicated her and those items and that original scientist's findings cannot be trusted.

I fear that she will talk about herself, how awful it is to be in jail, how she misses her family, how terrible to be thought of as a killer, how she has struggled for months to think of the right things to say to the jury, etc., etc. Those points won't win her any friends on this jury.
You have hit the nail on the head regarding Amanda. Shouldn't her attorneys be saying these things to her?? Why aren't they??:furious::waitasec: ETA: By the way, some commentators have said the decision has been made, and her speech will not weigh in at all....:waitasec:

We don't need to read them the prosecution, Kercher, and PL lawyer very nicely stated most of it in closing arguments :)

The professors from Rome didn't actually debunk anything. They agreed that the DNA on the knife could belong to Meredith, but they didn't test it even though they had the equipment to test the LNC DNA. The y haplotype on the bra clasp was rare and a perfect match to Sollecito. The theory given by the professors is that the DNA flew from some unknown place and landed on the clasp.

Perhaps it would do her some good to simply tell the truth about what she did that murderous night.
Right, that's the ticket. I predict she will break down and confess to all, like a blubbering idiot.:furious:

Some might find this an interesting read ... google translate all

"It is certain that the prosecution initially did not matter to Amanda Knox and who the murderess, the important thing was having a killer fit, so that when it came out the name of Lumumba was recovered once a super-swift witness to affirm that the night of the murder managed by the local Zairian was closed. His name was inserted in the order of arrest and he was sought by all journalists, to which journalists released this statement: "Yes, I think that that night the place was closed. I pour the 19 I left home and I seems that the door of 'Le Chic' was closed. As long as do not know. I do not remember what I did tonight. " And all thanks to him to play "From the Lumumba", because those who had spent the damn evening in his restaurant every interrogation lost memory usage and anticipated output times"

I understand. I think a response pointing out that the tabloid that posted the photo claiming it was a bloody bathroom and attributing the image to police is completely unreliable.

fact: The photo was taken by LE.

fact: The newspaper cites LE as the source of the photo.

What is the debate exactly?

How did you arrive at the conclusion that Guede acted alone? Not even the Supreme Court agrees with that.

Logic and Evidence sure does

And it was LE who leaked things such as the bathroom photo and how many men Amanda had slept with- and they did it all to garner public opinion.

As per the google translate above. Why is he not suing this person? He stated the bar was closed. I don't see his lawyer calling this individual a demon.

Gee, it couldn't be that they were given a bunch of bloody crime scene photos, of which one of them was not actually blood, but looked like blood, and came to that conclusion?

There was no reason to give the press that photo, as it served no purpose. Yet it was mixed in with actual photos of blood.

Did LE ever ask the paper to retract it?

Why is this photo relevant?

the Amanda today isn't the same one from the trial- she is acutely aware of how everything she does, every look, every movement will be picked over- she has also aged a bit and sees now she did herself no favors by how childish she acted. She has spent a lot of time on her statement so I believe it will be nothing like her last one.

But I am afraid that everything other people do and say is going to influence the panel.
