Just as I thought, no suspects....geez I wonder who leaked such inaccurate info

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/39612179#39612179

This video shows Tiffany standing in the garage showing her jetski and lifevest to the reporter. The sheriff has stated that blood on the vest corroborates Tiffany's story, so why did they give it back to her? Wouldn't the vest and the jetski be kept for evidence?

This sheriff doesn't seem very smart to me. If he is this sloppy with all of his investigations, how do crimes get solved in his county? Do all of the jurrors simply take his word for what he says happened? I don't trust this man at all!

IMO, the vest and jet-ski were returned to her after the testing was done. She is not a suspect. Why would the sheriff keep her property?

I wonder if it's bad reporting or if there really was "microscopic" drops of blood on her life vest. If it were microscopic, it would not be seen with the naked eye, only under a microscope.

It does seem odd that the only physical evidence so far (her life vest and her jet ski) have already been returned to her. The sheriff says it is the Mexican authorities that have the jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute this crime because it happened in Mexico. Right?

Probably the Mexican's themselves just like the "suspects" they randomly gathered that they claimed were behind the 300 some murders of women in Juarez. I didn't believe it either, about these "suspects" it was too soon and the Mexican's aren't always honest with their info, to much corruption over their. These guys they targeted were probably low level cartel and could be sacrificed to satisfy the American people that the job had been done and the suspect caught, case closed "ya dejenos en paz", (leave us in peace), that's the Mexican way. (Not trying to be mean I'm hispanic with Mexican ancestors and grew up on the border.)

The sheriff and his family may have already been threatened by the Cartel, if indeed it was they who committed this murder, or he knows if he sticks his nose in it they will retaliate against him, which they will.

Evidence must be preserved in a manner which is documented and secure in order to preserve the "chain of evidence". This insures that, if a case ever goes to trial, neither side can have the evidence thrown out due to an opportunity of tampering.

Rules of evidence would apply, regardless of whether the item in question belonged to a victim, perpetrator, or innocent bystander.

There is an American man who is missing and presumed dead. We don't know for sure that it happened in Mexico...it could have happened in American territory. The crime was reported to the American authorities, and until this case is closed, evidence should be preserved, whether Tiffany's story is true or not.

I am no legal expert, obviously. Preserving evidence is just common sense.

If that's the case, it sounds as though he might be in over his head. He probably should call in some bigger guns. JMO

Cocaine is packaged in "bricks". I've seen them anywhere from 10-12 inches in width and 6-8 inches in length with a depth of 4 - 5 inches. Those are little ones, they are usually packaged in much bigger bricks. Herion is a different story and yes, mules will swallow packages of herion to smuggle through on airlines. However, a herion mule (swallower) will not likely carry "six figures" in their belly. They usually use 3 - 5 mules to get it in.

For them to carry bricks of coke or even herion in those cubicles in the jet skis - not going to hold an amount that would make it "worth it" to risk an international run.

As for the guns - I agree. It wouldn't be hard to carry one on a jet ski, albeit it would have to be smaller in size (not necessarily caliber). Definitely would be very very difficult to shoot. You would have to stop the jet ski - or slow it down to almost idle. Jet skis take both hands to control properly and even taking one hand off and trying to aim and shoot a gun would be very very hard.

Tiffany said 3 boats and the witness who watched her come in only saw one - so the other two could have stayed back and done the "clean-up". One boat getting David and the other taking care of the jet ski. Heck, even one guy could have jumped in the water and onto the jet ski and rode it off. It still had to be taken to the shore somewhere and gotten out of the water - not that easy to do if you don't have a trailer to put it on and from the looks of all this - it was a somewhat desolate place where any type of activity like that would have left trace evidence: ie drag marks, tire marks, whatever.

I'm just not going with this drug running story. It doesn't fit.

Just a kilo (2 lbs) or even a 1/2 of cocaine, heroin, or meth would be lucriditive enough for a little run to Mexico and the storage would be no problem....just as in vehicles...it could be hidden very well within the jet ski or a life vest for that matter. Just think of how many dime bags are contained in 2 lbs. The coin is a dime. Not saying this is what they were doing, but very possible indeed.

Has anyone heard if the FBI or any international LE is involved?

Oddly, no. I have heard that the Mexican authorities are involved, as well as the Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez.

I found an interesting website. Live streaming from hidden cameras along the Texas/Mexico border. Viewers can create a free account, choose which camera to view and then report suspicious activity.

http://www.blueservo.net/

I hope Falcon Lake had the cameras.

Warning: could be as addicting as the scanner website.

Wow! This is cool! I wonder if any of the cameras are in the locale of where the saga occurred and if they record?

Because someone is missing presumed dead and no one should be cleared until all the facts are known and confirmed, and added to that any evidence should be free from contamination and held securely.

Even if she isn't a suspect and the testing has been done?

And as many have pointed out, it didn't happen in Texas.

Wow, Mexican authorities have confirmed that they are now searching for two suspects. As of 2:15 p.m. EDT CNN is reporting this. Will we ever get straight answers from the Mexican authorities? They are quoting yet a different spokesman for the state attorney general:

The suspects are two brothers who are "well known to this area," according Luis Homero Uvalle, a spokesman for the state attorney general. He identifed the suspects only as "El 27" and "El 31."

Over the weekend, news reports indicated that two suspects connected to a Mexican drug cartel were linked to Hartley's disappearance, but Agent Antonio Garcia of the ministerial police said there is "no truth" to the report."

Authorities from both nations are conducting separate searches and are coordinating and holding regular meetings, State Department spokeswoman Virginia Staab said. But because the disappearance happened on the Mexican side of the border, the United States cannot prosecute or make arrests in the case, the sheriff said.

I get the feeling this case is going to be a very ugly mess. :(

Thanks foe posting that. When the 2 names were initially released, I was glad, but concerned. First, for the safety of the Mexican official named in the media, next that the suspects
Would dissappear into the rugged terrain of Mexico.
I wonder if Mexico has an equivelant to our Crimestoppers program? With a large enough reward, I believe someone would talk.
