I never said I thought she acted alone.

Based on her statement that she "feels it is now time to move on with life" (2 weeks after her husband is murdered in front of her - apparently not very traumatizing to her)
I suspect we will hear shortly that she is dating...perhaps she has turned to one of David's bestfriends in her "grief".....can't wait to see if there was any life insurance on david, as per her facebook page they attended a david ramsey seminar and from what I have read online the step 7 is getting alot of life insurance on each other....and since they completed the seminar it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this angle.

I believe that if David is dead then Tiffany played a role in that death. If David is not dead and this some kind of scam where he "survives" a brutal "pirate" attack and starts making money off interviews, books and the like it would sure solve their money problems and since Tiffany refuses to demand justice or give any descriptions of the killers then no one is hurt....

Really can't see David resurfacing, how on earth would they explain that and get away with it. Unless they said their good-byes and he's gone off to live another life-but with what money? No she wants us to know he is dead so I think we'll never see him alive. I think sadly he is indeed dead but where on earth is he????

jdj125, Thanks for the info and the model id.

jjenny, I agree, it would be hard, nigh impossible for Tiffany to dispose of the jet-ski on either land or water (and very difficult for "pirates" to do it either). If Tiffany wanted to kill David and stage it to look like "bandits" did it, she would leave the jet-ski and David's body right there where the Mexican authorities would expect to find them. The effort and risk of concealing the body and Jet-ski would only raise all kinds of questions. Further more, she would most likely claimed that: "they came towards us , started shooting, we took off, David went down, but I was scared;I kept going, I don't know if he is alive or dead" That is what people would have expected. Assuming that she isn't telling the truth, the only point I can see in claiming she went to help David while under fire (aside from making her look brave and heroic) would be so that she could claim, with certainty, that David was dead. This will become an issue if there is a Life Insurance claim.

I am also very interested what that "witness" told US law enforcement (and who he really is)

I am not "positive" this is a hoax but taken as a whole: the very strange story (with all the twists and turns), the pleasure she seems to get going on TV and talking about it, PLUS, the "coincedence that she happened to have the key to the truck and that David just happened to mention the trip to his mother that morning and, well it all smells real funny.

exactly! plus being pulled over for the plates too, and the unlikely timeline, so many elements are odd

Not a direct quote but "covered in blood" according to the Sheriff's account of what the witness saw.

http://archives.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1010/05/ijvm.01.html

She didn't say anything until she was close enough to speak. Then she first asks if he speaks English? Not help, my husband has been shot, or I'm being chased? Weird...

Also, call the authorities and possibly an abulance. Possibly? Well, yeah, they guy's been shot.

Now she is screaming, and blurting out...doesn't ask him if he speaks English?

Does anyone have any idea where the island is? Where was the witness standing that he saw both the boat, and the jet ski, and the expression on her face?

Does anyone remember Rosa Lopez?

Saw her this morning on the Today Show. I found it very odd whan she spoke of him not being there to hold her.

I don't get this girl, when people I love and care about are gone...I think about how I will not be able to hug and hold THEM, not the other way around.

I STILL think she's a liar and have since page one. imo

Legally, is David considered a Missing Person or Dead?
I don't know how this works about declaring someone dead when you don't have a body and the incident occurred in a foreign country.

Has David been declared Dead? Has a Death Certificate been issued?

She said this morning she was on "task mode" when asked how she was doing./coping.

I find that a perfectly normal feeling from a wife that misses her dead husband. I've heard MANY widows say that actually.
Gosh, this woman can't say ANYTHING right can she?

I caught a couple minutes of an interview this morning on CBS show. It was David's sister and father. I didn't get to hear much of it. Will look of the link.

Just wondering if those widows appear to be deceptive, cold and a tad narcisstic too?

I believe and only my opinion that Mexico stopped the search not for methods of intimidation, however they simply do not believe Tiffany after sixteen hours of interrogations. I also believe that if Tiffany claims this happened on the Mexico side, Why is she being a "Self appointed spokesperson for National Border Security"? Even though I am not a supporter of the current administration, This woman has no inclination of anything. I would advise her to check the local want ads. I believe she could get a job at the nearest seven-eleven. I do believe her fifteen minutes have expired since she is barely given time for the national media. After four weeks of hearing her story, I feel she is ridiculous, and may of gotten away with the perfect murder. Again this is only my opinion.

did anyone see her on the today show this morning? My kids were running around and I only heard bits and pieces...but did I hear her say this morning they didn't know anything about drug issues on the lake?

[snipped for space]

And here are a few more:

So aside from the innocent bystanders, all of the victims in these attacks were, or were perceived as being, involved in the drug trade.- EXACTLY! Perceived being the operative word....
Tiffany has never claimed that she and David were innocent bystanders.

If we assume the Hartleys were attacked by drug cartel members, then going by these instances, the motive would seem to be that they were either involved in the drug trade or perceived as being involved in the drug trade.

Yet if it was a case of mistaken identity, why would brutal killers of this ilk give the Hartleys a friendly wave and let them take a few pictures before attacking them? Somehow I can't see the perpetrators of these other crimes being so gracious. - How do you know they weren't snapping their photos as the pirates were approaching? Is it inconceivable that the Hartley's got there, took their photos and then the pirates discovered them? I do not believe that to be impossible, nor disproven.

For clarity's sake, I am not suggesting that the Hartleys were involved in the drug trade. I am trying to understand what relevance these cases have to theirs. - My point was to show how many other people where shot in a THREE DAY time span by similar individuals to the perps we are discussing. I felt that had relevance.

I saw this article on another thread and once again, feel that it has relevance to this case. This is an excellent description of what the Mexican police are up against and how they work. This 20-year old woman has just been sworn in as the police chief. Her only police experience is a stint as the police department secretary, and she has not yet finished her criminology degree, yet was sworn in as police chief on 10/20/2010. She as two bodyguards, but refuses to wear a gun. Her plan to curb the violence is to hire more women, then assign them each to a neighborhood to go house to house "to talk with families, promote civic values and detect potential crimes before they happen". :shakehead:

Twenty-Year-Old Woman Named Police Chief in Dangerous Mexican Border Town

Published October 20, 2010
Associated Press

Drug cartels in many drug-plagued parts of Mexico have killed or threatened police chiefs and their departments, buying off some officers and prompting some others to quit en masse.

In past months, soldiers and then federal police largely took over patrols in the Juarez valley, but they stick mainly to the main road, afraid to venture down unfamiliar dirt roads that are well-traveled by drug traffickers.
