Harry's Mom wants answers.

'Del Sardo said that Ann Devert was working to expedite the process of getting the body DNA tested.

"She's remaining optimistic and you know as she's doing the best she possibly could in this very trying time," Del Sardo told ABC News. "There's still many questions unanswered. She's trying to act on a serious lead, where in [his] motorcycle was found or to get some sort of closure if in fact the remains are Harry's."

The family of missing Pelham grad and world traveler Harry Devert continues to await results of DNA tests done on remains found near his motorcycle in Mexico Sunday, July 13, despite published reports they have been positively identified. Jackie Burrell, spokeswoman for the Devert family, said Harry's mother, Ann Devert of New Rochelle, who is currently in Mexico cooperating with authorities, has advised the family "not to listen to reports. Testing is being done."

Family attorney Darren Delsardo said the source of the published confirmations is unknown.

"No individual from the Mexican government has advised the family of any confirmation," he said in an e-mail. "We have been advised that it takes up to two months to do DNA tests in Mexico. We are trying to have tests performed in the United States to expedite the process."

"CNN) -- Human remains found in two plastic bags near a beach in southwestern Mexico have been identified as those of Harry Devert, a New Yorker who left his job as a trader in finance for a transcontinental motorcycle journey from the United States to Latin America, Mexican authorities said.
Devert, 32, vanished six months ago after sending his girlfriend an ominous text message from a troubled region in Mexico, describing how he was being escorted from "an area too dangerous for me to be."
Mexican authorities, acting on tips, last week located his green Kawasaki motorcycle in a shallow grave in the state of Guerrero, along with the badly decomposed remains of a man in two bags."

Mexican authorities said Tuesday they have arrested an alleged drug gang leader they believe was responsible for the 2014 killing of a New York man who vanished while heading on his motorcycle to Brazil for the World Cup.

Mexico’s federal police said they arrested Adrian Reyes Cadena, the purported leader of a drug gang in the Pacific coast resort of Zihuatanejo.

A federal official, who was not authorized to be quoted by name under the agency’s rules, said Reyes Cadena’s gang apparently thought motorcyclist Harry Devert was a U.S. agent.

The incredible life and haunting death of world traveler Harry Devert

Yet, those closest to Harry are unconvinced. The story seems too simple, too convenient: a hastily written last chapter to a twisting, turning, enthralling life that deserved a better ending — and still awaits full explanation.

“My gut reaction was the government just wants to tidy this up as a good news event, and say ‘Now we don’t have to investigate anything related to Harry Devert anymore,'” his mother, Ann Devert, told The Post in a telephone interview from Harry’s childhood home in New Rochelle, N.Y.
