A "Special Elite Task Force" sounds like the Mexicans are being sarcastic. Are they messing with him?

Or is JR messing with us?..that is, those concerned about Jenny. Is this special elite task force with the state police, federales, military, his attorney and PI, the chamber of commerce...or what? And whoever it is, why would they be getting involved? Is it so elite and special he can't explain? And what happened to interviewing the drivers? I think LE put a stop to that. Or the drivers got smart and got attorneys.

Maybe the task force he is referring to is this one: Disappeared Persons Task Force (Unidad Especializada de Búsqueda de Personas Desaparecidas, UEBPD)? If so, the article didn't instill me with much confidence as to their effectiveness...

It was meant to be a little humor in light of the seriousness of Jenny and others that have gone missing in Mexico. (Linked page to article "now missing")
Ok back to business of finding and reporting. I am just amazed at the number of people that go missing! Scary!!

Yes it is scary.
I have been praying for Jenny as I do believe she is being held against her will, if still alive.
I think the only way to find her is to engage a credible, local detective, take money, and go in to the bowels of the brothel scene.
If her family is reading this thread, I hope they will also work with the local church. They can sometimes help get these girls out, but it's not easy. Harder if it's a foreigner, but the economy relies on tourism...this is bad for business.
God bless Jenny. Please pray for her.

JR is now saying that Jennys case is now be handled by a Special Elite Task Force. Okaaaay.

The president of Mexico also confirmed that he will personally search for the driver and Jenny and sue Corona on Jonathans behalf by any means necessary. Lol

<mod snip>

Oh good lord. He's watched too many movies. She's not a Mexican citizen and frankly while I love Mexico and have spent a lot of time there, their government and law enforcement are not exactly known for working all that hard to solve their own missing persons cases, let alone one involving a foreigner with an obnoxious spouse. Everything JR says comes across as bluster and drama with no substance or facts behind it IMO.

Lol. Once we posted about possible go fund me refunds; That's when he got the news of the Special Elite Task Force now joining in because they recognized his hard efforts. Lol

You must keep the Donators updated if you do not want someone to feel betrayed. Jmo.

But I do hope that Jenny is seriously okay.

I agree first and foremost is finding Jenny where ever she may be. Jenny is a daughter, sister and wife and loved by many.
Something just seems so wrong! This is one time I will be happy to be proved wrong that nothing is hinky.
If I can check out some dates and contacts, maybe. Time to journal what is being said...and what isn't for Jenny!

Ok. Seriously. If my husband brought me over from China or not. There is no way as a spouse with no income would I be able to just take off and travel under my own terms! Just No! I would be with him or getting a divorce! And my hubby is not a controlling type.
I am sure after almost 30 years he would at time been happy to send me off on an adventure...just because I am strong and stubborn.
Is there life insurance on Jenny via spouse?

Ok. Maybe he didn't know that Mexico can be dangerous!?? I have friends that go over every so often to unwind/vacation. I do know where they go is more of the touristy area but they still keep a watchful eye on their young adult daughter and her friends. As a spouse she should not been able to put herself in harms way. I don't know you funded this but it should have been no...via spouse.

*correction-how she funded this trip but it should have been no, not alone.

Sitting here thinking about this missing persons case an important point just occurred to me. (And apologies if you have already discussed this). She was there alone DURING SPRING BREAK. Sorry to be indelicate, but you only go to "spring break" for two things....to party, and to get ..... What was a married woman doing in party town during Spring Break? And I assure you, no one knows how to do Spring Break like the resorts in Mexico.

I find this to be peculiar.

Interesting. No we haven't discussed this. Even if Jenny was not familiar with spring break customs and popular locations, one would think her husband might have known and discouraged her strongly. Maybe he did. But I honestly don't think anyone could have stopped Jenny short of withholding money as Lisa mentioned...if that was even feasible. Perhaps her earnings had gone into her own account and she decided to go on the cheap without JR's money or blessing. She strikes me as a rather reckless dreamer who was determined to take this trip. She doesn't strike me as a spring break type though although she could have gotten caught up in it. JMO

Maybe the husband was being sarcastic when he posted that. As in no one is helping in any meaningful way.

I think it is very odd that Jenny just immigrated to the US, and was so excited about it and with all of the US to see, she chose to backpack through Mexico. Alone.

How did she plan to get to Cuba and New York? Did I read that a ticket,(air) had been bough or did they just checked to make sure she hadn't flown out of Mexico?
I wonder if JR is withholding info that may help find her?

...“She was due to be back on July Fourth,” says Reinhard. “This was a big trip for her before she started school.”

This week, Chen would have been in Cuba. But she never got on the flight.
