Ok. I misunderstood that.

So then, why can't we pinpoint where she slept, and on which nights? Where did the PI get his info? Why is it inconsistent?

Sadly, pretty much because the information JR and his "team" make public is incomplete, inconsistent, contradictory and piecemeal. We don't know where the PI gets his information but I assume he does fieldwork to find witnesses if he's doing his job. We don't hear about LE doing anything much, except to make promises and renege according to JR's posts. As was mentioned, JR and his team are under no obligation to share information with the public, but what they do share raises more questions so we really can't pinpoint too much to create an accurate timeline. This is how it's been from the beginning, unfortunately. We don't really know why communication is this way. Meanwhile, Jenny is missing.

Ok. I am thinking Jenny Chen has unfortunately met with foul play. Being military for 26 years and friends with many spouses....I just can't see a Chinese spouse living in the U.S.A wirh no income telling her American spouse that she will be backpacking across mexico, etc.. I want to think hubby tried to stop her and she had her reasons for doing so but why not the good old USA. We have lots of interesting states. I know what is done is done but I so wished they could have comprised about where she was choosing to explore.

It helps to understand that Jenny is from a different generation. Firstly, social media pervades their lives and travelling to foreign countries is very common now. Secondly, the US is expensive while places like Mexico are cheap, especially if you travel as Jenny did. Thirdly, young women are not as obediant to their husbands as they used to be, and often dislike being controlled.

What cell phone again was Jenny using? I think I read that she bought a phone but did she take her US phone with her? I'd like to know if he could have extracted location information from there.

From what I've read, all witness information was fed to JR from Mexican police efforts for the time frame Jenny disappeared. All of Jenny's steps are traceable until the last 12-24 hour period Jenny was last seen. In that time frame, I have read of no witness accountings, just information fed to JR from Mexican police. If the police aren't fully knowledgable about her fate, I'm certain they know who is. And JR going down there and poking around puts him and his relatives in grave danger. jmo

I agree. Poking around in Mexico, especially in to LE affairs is a very risky business indeed. Now maybe people will understand why JR appears guarded, and keeps blocking SM. This is a very dicey situation.

You would think he would be more guarded and controlled in what he says regarding the Mexican police, but I don't see that as being the case.

He has criticized the authorities there severly and often--most recently, on the Mexican radio program with Ciro Gomez Leyva:
"I want the police to take this case seriously & stop lying to me. They make promises when I go travel to face them in Mexico, & when I leave they do nothing but make excuses.
We have leads, and alls they have to do is follow up. How hard can that be? It makes me sick they don't treat my wife's case with any concern at all. My private investigator has come up with possible suspects & they won't even bother talking to them."

We need a PI to vet the PI.

JR certainly can not benefit by badmouthing the Mexican authorities, no matter how justified he may be.

Latest post: JR has been assured by his legal team that there should be answers from the Corona drivers within the next two weeks. There should be a break in the case within that time frame. He realizes things move slowly and will try to be patient. Someone comments sympathetically that two weeks rarely means two weeks in Mexico. Someone else asks if he's considered "economic incentives" for government officials and JR says that he will see how this two weeks goes and at that point he will consider anything.

It must be very frustrating. We have heard "this week" or "next week" over and over again regarding the Corona driver(s). Start the stopwatch...again. :waiting: His attorney is a very big name with friends in high places. He was hired in June or was it May? Surely he has enough influence to lean on the right people. Or is there something I don't understand? Is JR being taken for a ride? I wonder if the American PI's are making progress.

I kinda forgot she is the age of my sons and indeed things are different and the beer is hoppy. I am old. sigh.

I believe that was the route. She was supposed to fly to Cuba from Mexico on April 23.

What do we know about the PI he hired?

I went back and ran a search on the first thread, remembering that someone posted a link to his website, but I couldn't find it. I don't recall that it really told us much. We've been been suspicious of him for months. I think it's very telling that JR is now hiring other PI's from outside of Mexico, according to FB.

An interesting link was posted by KM today about a PI who is trashing the HFJ page. I remember this guy offering his services from the beginning. JR says he rejected his services and the PI is defaming the FB group. Apparently he has done that before. How does anyone know whom to trust?

For starters, I wouldn't trust a PI from Mexico. What tips did THAT PI provide?

What do we know about the PI he hired?

His name is Fernando Molina (JR provided the name on the 🤬🤬🤬 page, saying he was a top investigator). I had found an old news article where he had been key in case featured on the CBS 48-Hours show. (Thread #1, post 411)

On the PI's Twitter site he states he is a past President of WAD. The World Association of Detectives (WAD) is an international organization founded in 1925, and promotes high ethical practices for their professions. http://www.wad.net

So...seems like the real deal? I hope so, for the sake of this case.

I don't know how JR vetted this PI. But I don't have confidence in him anymore. Tips? Maybe that's a rhetorical/ironic question. :D In case it's not, he is the one who found the people Jenny stayed with in Juchitan (and we've already discussed how confusing that is) and the witnesses to Jenny going with the Corona driver. I don't normally suggest that someone go back and read the first thread, but if you haven't already, you will see that we've been going in circles with JR and his "team" for months. At this point I don't feel I can fully rely on any info we receive. JMO

Thanks, slowpoke! He seems legit, so I hope he's the real deal too. Perhaps it's the way JR reports the PI's findings that has us frustrated and suspicious of the PI. :dunno:
