Why Cancun?

Why Cancun?

Because that is where JR and Jenny planned to meet, according to JR.

Cancun has always been in the back of my mind. There are multiple stories from JR about meeting her in Cancun. One was that he was to meet her at the airport, the other was that he waited at the hotel for "days and days", supposedly visited a few hospitals, contacted LE (again, supposedly - if he did - why didn't he follow up? He never mentioned his interactions with LE in Cancun), then came back to Seattle and set up a Go Fund Me page and called a few local reporters ... and here we are today. Luckily I picked up one of those local stories as Jenny being missing never made national headlines. Ho got his $10k from 🤬🤬🤬 and is now slowly slipping away from social media.

MOO, of course.

I doubt he checked hospitals or called LE, to be honest. Why didn't he travel himself to Oaxaca from Cancun if he knew that was her last stop (based on her Facebook posts). Why did he return home knowing his wife was somewhere in Mexico? Makes no sense. Also not making sense is traveling to Mexico multiple times since then, never once organizing a search, talking with people who last saw her, etc. Nothing, just breakfast meetings with a "team", nothing more - all for show, and I wouldn't be surprised if he hit up a couple of massage parlors there, too.

Where are you Jenny? JR?

Well yes, everything about this case is super hinky.
However, I'm trying to stay focused on this supposedly credible lead with the Corona truck.
I do think Corona would have shut this down if it weren't true. There is something to it, IMO.
While anything seems possible with this wonky case, it seems most likely she was murdered within an hour of being picked up by the truck.

Does anyone have the link for the Chinese consulate that had the article about Jenny running free in the south of Mexico? I'm wondering if they have any updates, since google searching doesn't seem to bring up that website. I looked in Thread #1 but couldn't find it.

That's a good idea to check. Here you go. This is the link from their site. It show the story as originating in the "consular services" section of the site, but I don't see this story actually listed among other stories under consular services and I don't see any updates. There is a caution to Chinese tourists traveling in Oaxaca that's intersting.

Here's the link to Tarabull's post where I found the link.

Where are you Jenny? JR?

Hey Honey. While you're hitchhiking and couch surfing with strangers in desolated areas; Can you please find the time to hitchhike further into the abyss and meet me in Cancun for a lovely reuion?

Now of course I can meet you where you are currently staying. But I think it's better for you to hitchhike and couch surf more for the next 3 days while continuing to face your fears.

Lol.

But seriously. Jenny never mentions next stop Cancun. Jmo.

Only Jonathan and the anonymous witness who was privy to hear or know the supposed conversation that took place with the supposed Corona driver. Jmo.

Can Jonathan at least tell us the name of the resort he stayed at for 6 days.

Or at least show us his messages to Jenny of telling her which room number he was in just in case she was running late. Or how to get to the resort that the person she hitchhiked with can easily find. Especially since he never went back to the supposed meeting place at the airport until it was time to go home.

Now if she was meeting him at the hotel. Then what bus will take you from Oaxaca or wherever directly to some hotel resort.

But since he doesn't mention sending her money for a cab after her supposedly making it to the airport; Then I guess he knew the bus would drop her off at the resort. Idk

Or maybe he knows Mexico enough to know where to meet her at if she did call him from some isolated road 100 miles away from the resort.

Can he at least show us his phone bill of how many times he called Jenny to find out her whereabouts from the 12th to the 20th.

I would love to speak to the maids that were cleaning his room on his 5 or 6 day rendezvous in Cancun. Jmo.

Which hotel was that again? And how many bottles of massage oils were strewn around his rooms during those 5 days? Hmmmm

Oh but Dexter, don't you remember, he didn't have her number!

When I first looked at Jenny's FB page months ago, I had trouble believing it was real. But I thought, if this were a hoax set up by JR, he would have trouble not deleting certain replies. Then we found out that he had access to her page. To me, that's strange. Then he started deleting replies and her posts. Now he's either deleted all evidence of the trip, or just made it private. If he deleted it, that's very troubling to me.

Is there a possibility that Mexican authorities have requested he shut the FB pages down? I'm still trying to be open minded about this case, but I don't know why!

Has anybody heard from concerned friends or family of JR?? If even an acquaintance of mine had a friend who was missing in Mexico, I'd be glued to the page and offering help in any way I could. I haven't heard a thing from anybody, except one or two posts from his ski friend and her hubby.

At least the 🤬🤬🤬 page is still up... <Smirk>

BBM

Great points, Dex. I have to correct you that Jenny never mentioned going to Cancun because she did on her Weibo.

In case the link doesn't come through for you, she said the most important thing about traveling is learning to face fear...even more important than sightseeing, museums or knowing another culture. So she decides to hitch hike from Oaxaca to Cancun, half the distance of Mexico. She says this after her rape post and before she says it can only take one person to ruin her life but she has to be positive if she chooses to hitchhike.

I'm getting a different picture than perhaps some of you are. I'm seeing this middle aged man who married a significantly younger woman who leaves him to go off on an extended soul searching journey. That has to be a bit humiliating, especially for a man. Then, apparently, she doesn't give him her cellphone number and only communicates through social media. She's in control of communications, not him.

I think it's pretty obvious she had left him, was dumping him, and he was trying to hang on. The husband is taking alot of heat, but really, I think she had dumped him.
Sounds like this fellow ended up with a bit more than he had bargained for. Perhaps he is nothing more than a victim in this himself?
I think there is just much more to this story than we can even begin to know.....

I find the combination of Mexico, Cuba and New York (for soul searching) to be very odd. Is there even internet at all in Cuba? How was she expecting to couch surf in Cuba?

i just looked for the Help Find Jenny page on Facebook and it's not there, so it's not searchable on Facebook anymore?

I'm beginning to think those billboards are photoshopped.

MOO!

Good post, Roses, and if true, he is in a very bad position. If I were leaving my husband though, I'd change my passwords. But it doesn't look like she really used that FB account very much anyway... Thanks for a different perspective!!

Yes, well after reading her Weibo postings, it's my amateur opinion that Jenny was operating in a distorted sense of reality; mentally imbalanced. I'm not saying that to be rude or disrespectful, I'm just sharing my honest opinion. It could be relevant to her disapearance.

I pretty much agree with you that she dumped him and that there is much more to the story, roses. But he loved her enough to marry her I imagine, so unless he knows she's safe or dead for sure, I don't understand closing the group, erasing her FB page and seemingly putting the search on hold...unless there is a criminal investigation going on that needs everything on SM quiet. But why her FB page? Is there a clue there? Are they investigating JR?

<modsnip> I will never understand JR leaving Mexico so quickly, embarrassed or not. She's a missing human being who is legally his wife and he didn't know if she was safe. Is he so wrapped up in his hurt feelings that he just leaves her there? Wow! <modsnip> I don't mind anyone calling me judgemental about my opinion. I am. Who is so cold that they would abandon her in Mexico? I can't wrap my mind around it. JMO MOO

I don't know about searching for it, but it's still there for me. I've kept it open on Safari so I wouldn't lose it.

Maybe she did leave him, and everyone knows (including JR), her parents know it, friends in China know it (because no one is posting) and now that JR drained everyone of their savings to help fund the find, he's slowly backing out, taking his funds with him.

He is single, according to his Facebook. He either he knows she is dead or she is alive and not wanting to be with him anymore.

The link is still valid but it is no longer searchable in Facebook, meaning that if I didn't have a link to the page, I can't type help find jenny anymore in Facebook and land on her help page.

I agree. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that her mental state is very relevant to her disappearance. I hope we aren't going to discover that her disappearance was suicide. She seemed very fragile to me in her last few Weibo posts after the attempted rape. Even though she was trying to be brave, I wonder if it was more than she could handle. Did she imagine that JR was upset with her? That she was disgraced? Or? If the Corona truck story is accurate, it seems that she started toward Cancun, so we don't know if she aborted the trip herself or if she was harmed. Poor Jenny. :(
