Imo. Jenny's original name isn't Jenny. And she probably has multiple passports in other names. Jmo.

So unless the border scans documented fingerprints. Then she could have traveled back to the U.S and grabbed her stuff from Seattle while he was in Mexico. Idk.

But also imo. The Corona executives that he flew with, realized his deceptive intent and decided to no longer cooperate with him. Jmo.

Maybe she did leave him, and everyone knows (including JR), her parents know it, friends in China know it (because no one is posting) and now that JR drained everyone of their savings to help fund the find, he's slowly backing out, taking his funds with him.

He is single, according to his Facebook. He either he knows she is dead or she is alive and not wanting to be with him anymore.

Does he have two accounts? I've seen other comments about him being single but I've only ever seen "Married since 11 October 2013" on his page.

She would have a Chinese passport with her Chinese name. She could have left Mexico and went back to China without anyone in the USA knowing about it. And that's what I'm hoping happened because it's so much better than all the other possibilities.

I know in other cases people hope a missing person took off to start a new life but that's much more difficult than simply picking up where you left off.

I wonder if she would have to file for divorce and he would find out that way?

Was Jenny and Jonathan rich?

Who was paying for her 2 month adventure to 3 separate countries?

Why did he have to send her bus money?

Was he paying for the trip? Wouldn't she have her own money in her bank account?

Now he says he sent her money. But now the atm was not working.

But was she still able to by basic things from the truck stop store on her atm card? Like water and snacks for her road trip?

Now most families of missing people want to spill the beans for help. But sometimes the police or fbi tells them to not release certain information.

But Jonathan isn't in that category since the U.S isn't involved.

So he could freely tell us the basics of when her last atm transactions and phone calls and messages went down. Jmo.

Side Note : Every family will always tell the public messages that were sent from the missing loved one.

But for 1 month while she was alone in Mexico. He wants us to believe that the only thing she told him was that her phone will be out of reception for the next 3 days?

Btw. How would she have known this?

Did someone else send that message?

Or did Jonathan recognize her handwriting during the message he received?

And that's another thing. Most people will second guess messages they got from a missing loved one if not truly knowing if that person actually sent it due to them being missing. Jmo.

But ole Jonathan doesn't even offer a slight possibility that her last message to him may not have been from her. Jmo.

Frankly, I'm kind of surprised that HE hasn't filed for divorce. I mean, we're going on a period of time where he could start a proceeding for abandonment (in a lot of states). He would have to wait out a 2 year period, but if she doesn't surface by then/contest the filing, he would be legally "free" from his marriage at the end of the abandonment period.

Agree to a point.

His Chinese wife is missing in Mexico while supposedly traveling to see him. Jmo

So even if he knew she ran away from him.

He would still be obligated to clear any wrong doing of his missing wife that is on a temporary U.S status due to their marriage.

Jmo.

Most exchanged students on temporary passes have to be accounted for as well.

So you can't simply marry a foreign person and then say nothing while spending their money or acting like they simply left with no explanation of what the phug happened. Jmo.

So Jonathan knows that he has to implement some type of search plan so the law doesn't come looking for him while his wife is no longer with him.

So bottom line.

Whether <modsnip> she simply ran away or whatever happened.

Jonathan has to report something for his missing wife that only has temporary residents in the U.S.

Jmo

I believe it said Single until people started noticing and then he changed it IIRC.

Okay, guys and gals.

You may express your opinions regarding the husband's actions and behaviors that you were able to see prior to the Facebook page being made private. However, you may not blatantly accuse this man of lying or playing a role in her disappearance.

He is considered a victim unless or until LE indicates otherwise.

And since this is a victim-friendly site, please choose your words carefully.

Thanks.

After reading Jenny's blogs, I don't think she left him and she simply ran into bad trouble, unfortunately. As for JR, I don't question his actions or inactions. I just feel he doesn't communicate well and none of us act "perfectly" in all situations, particularly in situations like this.

I consider both Jenny and JR to be innocent victims in this story.

I've been reading the posts here once in awhile. I thought of Jenny when I read this news article. I always hope she's somehow found alive. I find the level of this kind of violence beyond understanding.

Yes. But for the Grace of God go I...
I think the responses have been spirited because Jenny's actions are so confounding. She goes backpacking in one of the most dangerous places in the world, leaves her husband hanging, won't give him her phone number, says she almost got raped but keeps hitchhiking, and the list goes on. I believe everyone on this thread wants to see Jenny get home; I just think we are all a bit exasperated by her careless actions. One can only imagine how the husband feels!

I hope we find out someday whether Jenny is found and whether or not she is alive. At this point, without information from JR or MSM, there's not much to do except hope for the best. It's a sad story all the way around.

Yes, it really is. My prayers do continue, but logic tells me she is gone. I hope for a miracle; that's what it will take at this point.

It was becoming apparent from her postings that she was becoming aware of things she hadn't expected to happen. She was coming to the realization of now naive she was. She's previously been critical of the Chinese government and now was changing her tune. Then couchsurfing families asking her for money for staying with them. Then the motorcycle helmet incident. She was seeing things begin to add up.

Particularly when people are young and idealistic and unworldly, they are often unaware of how the world words. Then they learn and then they have knowledge and some wisdom. Jenny shared that she wanted to explore and see how the "real" people lived and experience life, before she want to go back to the working, career world.

Putting this into perspective, how many people go hiking or boating or whatnot, naive at almost any age, and unaware of the dangers of nature and getting lost or getting hypothermia. They go skiing and don't take an avalanche beacon. LOTS of people, of all ages, go missing, due to being unprepared for nature's elements of wind and cold. A little hike on a small mountain, take a few steps off the trail to get some relief, turn around and realize they are now lost. So easy to get lost in a forest and this happened to a retired woman on the Appalachian Trail several years ago and they just recently found her remains. Just a short step off the trail and lost.

Jenny got lost in a different way, likely. Lost among a culture she was not fully familiar with. And possibly lost in a situation that many of us would be unprepared for.

We hope for the best. Hopefully JR and those close to her will soon no longer have to worry or wonder.

I just read this article. Seriously, what is going on in Mexico is freaking insane. I realize a lot of it is safe, but how can you know what is and what is not safe?

A coworker visited her sister and brother-in-law in Zihua north of Acapulco and she shared photos. One, they were following a pick-up truck full of police with machine guns. The police were all looking around bug-eyed, like this was a job of last resort. The sister's home had to always be occupied, and a maid stayed at their home, otherwise their home would be ransacked and robbed of valuables.

Basically, it sounds like human life to a lot of people there is worth nothing and slaughtering people seems to be no big deal when to comes to creating and protecting power.

Mexico is off my list of places to visit.

I don't, and he's not adding anyone to the group... so strange.

I remember JR commented that they would be placed near where Jenny disappeared. He didn't give a street name. I can no longer link his comment of course.
