Do we have anyone on the thread who is fluent enough in Mandarin to scan the MSM posted from China? I would be interested in knowing if there is any MSM coverage on Jenny still, and what their theories are.

J
His request for a Chinese translator is still getting responses as recently as a week ago, even from people who know Jenny’s parents. I doubt he sees them.

Respectfully snipped for focus. I just saw what you are referring to Lilibet, and let us hope JR has jumped all over this offer of assistance. Better yet, he should have a P.I. handle it.

And well, I now have 7 out of 10 hinky alarms that have been triggered. O.K., maybe 8. Hmmm....
Just not sure whose getting one over on who. This whole case has been one big hinky pie from the get go.

With China being Jenny's home country and corrupt and crime ridden Mexico being the place she disappeared in, it is no wonder that answers aren't forthcoming about her whereabouts! I'm astounded that she would not have been warned not to travel there alone, and that her fiance let her do so! It's weird.

Weird indeed.

According to the Find Jenny FB page, Jenny's parents are now taking over the investigation and have hired people to look in Mexico. He says he will update the Find Jenny page when he gets updates.

Well then I guess she didn't return safely back home to China as some people speculated.

I highly doubt she is alive & well in Mexico FWIW.

Although technically she could still be alive if she was a victim of human trafficking in MX...

Just thinking outloud.

Where are you Jenny Chen???

I dunno. Something about this particular statement is leaving me with more questions. I guess I would feel better with that statement coming from her parents. My hinky meter is still beeping. This case has been a cluster f*ck from the get go. Why are they taking control now? IMHO every couple of months we get an update that things are happening and then silence. This kinda feels the same way.

Worse yet, they were married, so you’d think JR would have a little more clout than a fiancé. But having read Jenny’s posts about her travels, I get the impression that she is/was a woman on a mission to “conquer fear” as she put it, so I doubt he could have influenced her not to go.

I share your hinky meter beeps. If, in fact, they have really taken over, I think it’s because they have seen that JR doesn’t follow through on much of anything. He never even rescheduled the appointment he missed with attorneys in December! Apparently Jenny’s family will meet with them.

JR is now able to wash his hands of the whole thing and if nothing more happens, it’s on them. Of course, we don’t really have any way of knowing that her family is taking over the investigation. But I hope they have and I’m sure they can avoid alienating everyone in Mexico, unlike JR.

Here is an older post by our resident Mandarin speaker about why Jenny’s parents may not have been able to get MSM coverage in China. Basically, Jenny burned bridges. There are some interesting posts in this general location.

Here’s hoping they can make some headway.

Hot mess indeed! More beeps:

Eleven months ago on both of his fundraising pages (Help Find Jenny, Justice for Jenny) he said that Jenny’s family was “assisting” with the help of the Chinese Embassy to “to pressure the corrupt and complacent Mexican government to do their jobs!”

Nine months ago he asked for a Chinese translator to contact Jenny’s family about some important events coming up.

Two months ago JR replied to a supporter on the FB page that no one was helping, including Jenny’s family.

But as of 6/15/19 he posts that they have “taken over” the investigation and are meeting with the Chinese Embassy.

Stay tuned...

Jenny, where are you?

When this story first broke the local news station in Seattle (I believe KOMO or KIRO) did an interview with Jonathon Reinhardt. Something about him struck me the wrong way so I paused the interview with his computer in the background and zoomed in. Notice the name he has given her in the instant message, “Jenny The Idiot.”

Welcome to Websleuths and to Jenny’s thread! Thank you for your interest in her case.

My recollection is that Jenny gave herself the screen name “Jenny the Idiot” on WeChat. My memory on a lot of this case has faded, so anyone can correct me on this, but I don’t think it was JR who called her that. With that being said, JR struck most of us the wrong way...whether it was just his personality or something else.

Here’s a recent post on the Help Find Jenny FB page.

Apparently someone on the FB page wrote to a senator in Mexico and got a response that they are willing to connect with JR. The person who wrote the email asked if he should give the senator JR’s contact info or Jenny’s parents. JR says both and that he can forward the email to her family.
