Authorities have confirmed that a missing Dallas area man crossed into Mexico at an international bridge in Brownsville.

HARLINGEN — The mother of Noel Shankle, the Dallas-area man who flew to Harlingen and then disappeared after driving into Mexico two weeks ago, has been contacting everyone she can think of but getting little information.

The FBI is now helping investigate the case of a Carrollton man who disappeared 3 weeks ago when he went to Mexico for some dental work.

A month later, his mom has made the same trip, driving all the way from Carrollton, Texas with four male family members.

“I drove over the same bridge,” said Nelly.

The group traveled into Matamoros, Mexico, Friday and began posting missing persons signs all over town.

Was Noel ever found? I tried Googling but nothing newer than 2012 came up. I also tried NamUs, since while he disappeared presumably in Mexico, he was a US person, but no, he's not listed there.

The most recent thing I could find was this, which is dated August 2014 and says he's still missing:
