Do any of these guys have jobs? Did they lose them because of lock down restrictions or is the militia their 'job'?

I have wondered that, too.
I mean, they were mad that she closed the gyms, for crying out loud....

I had a very cursory search for any FB profiles for them and didn't find any. Could already be scrubbed byLE, or I didn't look deep enough. I did not make a huge effort, to be fair.

As far as jobs, the one guy lived in the basement of a vacuum cleaner shop that his friend who felt sorry for him owned. Does that count as a job? I bet he was great with customers, if it was an actual job.

Oh my giddy aunt. I worked for the guy who owns Huron Valley Guns for another business he owns twenty some years ago. That building used to be a restaurant.

The owner has some, interesting, shall we say, ideas, imo.

Domestic terror plot leader wanted to leave Whitmer on boat in middle of Lake Michigan, FBI says

The leader of a domestic terror plot targeting Gov. Gretchen Whitmer wanted to leave her on a boat in the middle of Lake Michigan after kidnapping her, an FBI agent testified.

FBI Special Agent Richard Trask said he personally interviewed Fox when the men were arrested Oct. 7.

“Mr. Fox stated his plan or his idea was to take her out on the boat and leave her out in the middle of Lake Michigan,” Trask said. “Disable the engine and just leave the boat around.”

I love Gretch and am proud to have her as our Governor, but the picture in my head of her set adrift on one of our Great Lakes while very concerning, is a little comical...but only now that we know it won't happen. Lake Michigan is very unforgiving

  • This highway bridge was checked for places to seat a bomb, the FBI says. (Julia Jones/CNN)
The Vac Shack sits in the middle of a row of single-story shops in a commercial part of Grand Rapids, Michigan, between a beauty salon and a taco joint.

Adam Fox had moved into the basement of the vacuum repair shop after his girlfriend threw him out. The owner, Briant Titus, was a hometown friend who hoped the younger man he’d helped to get through high school would soon get back on his feet.

At the corner of the shop, across from vacuum filters, attachments and hoses, a white door opens into a storeroom. In it, two flights of stairs under a wooden cover lead down into a dark basement cluttered with spare vacuum parts, a dog crate, and camping gear. At the end of a long hallway, there seems to be another room where the lights are on.

It was in this basement room that Fox, 37, and several other men are accused of meeting on June 20 this year to discuss how to vent their anger at officials they thought were violating the Constitution. It spiraled into a terrorism plot with Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer the target of a kidnapping scheme.

I’m not local but I’ve a lot of respect for her. What scares me is how these people were looking to bomb a bridge as she crossed it.

'Crackpots’: How attorneys plan to defend Michigan men accused in Gov. Whitmer kidnapping plot

“Was this really an intricate plan or just a whole lot of talk?”

The defense attorney for Ty Garbin has started to put his plan in motion. He is well-known for defending the “Hutaree,” a group formerly accused of plotting to overthrow the government.

One of the defense attorney called the men “crackpots," saying their deliberations were all talk.

Friend of Michigan militia brothers charged in Whitmer plot says they won't get a fair trial

Constitutional attorney Katherine Henry knows the Null brothers (twin brothers William and Micheal Null).

"The Null brothers, in particular, are kind, wonderful people," said Katherine Henry, a friend of the brothers.

"These guys are fathers, their husbands, sons, brothers, they are members of our community, they are US citizens, they're property owners. These are good men," she said.

FOX 2: "Are they part of a militia?"

"Absolutely, yes, I do believe they're part of the Michigan Liberty Militia," Henry said.

The Liberty Militia provides security for a number of rallies like the one on May 18th in Grand Rapids protesting Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's executive orders.

Henry was there, as was William Null who was seen working security, who took a picture with Senate Majority Leader, Mike Shirkey.

Michigan sheriff spotted at rally with men charged in scheme to kidnap, kill governor

Law enforcement leader says he has no regrets about sharing stage with suspect

BARRY COUNTY, Mich. – Two men charged in the kidnapping plot against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer have ties to a Michigan sheriff.

Suspects Michael and William Null who are brothers have been spotted protesting against Whitmer next to Barry County Sheriff, Dar Leaf...

Earlier this year, Barry County Sheriff Dar Leaf was joined on stage at Rosa Parks Circle by militia members, including William “Bill” Nunn and others at an anti-shutdown protest in Grand Rapids in May. Leaf was a guest speaker at the event, where he compared COVID-19 shutdowns to being arrested, and said the government was taking away people's free will.

Leaf has since said in a television interview about the arrests, that “perhaps they were just trying to arrest the governor and not kidnap her.”

“The Michigan Sheriffs' Association condemns the statement by Sheriff Leaf in the wake of the alleged plot by what appears to be organized domestic terrorists to kidnap Governor Whitmer, attack the Capitol Building and take hostages, and target law enforcement,” Matthew Saxton, the MSA executive director and CEO, said in a statement.

“It is, frankly, disheartening that any law enforcement official with any time in service of his or her oath could respond that way. His comments were dangerous, and let me be clear, there is nothing about this alleged plot that could be construed as legal, moral, or American.”

Sheriff’s remarks in alleged plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ‘dangerous,' state sheriffs’ group says

A Michigan sheriff defended the group of men accused of plotting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer

Leaf said yesterday that the Sheriffs’ Association was jumping the gun in condemning him and said no one from the MSA reached out before posting the statement. "This (is) precisely what I’m taking about ... coming to a conclusion without having all the facts,” he said in a text. He said he would contact the MSA Board of Directors directly.

Dana Nessel, the state attorney general, earlier linked to Leaf’s interview in a tweet: … “Let me make this abundantly clear - Persons who are not sworn, licensed members of a law enforcement agency cannot and should not ‘arrest’ government (officials) with whom they have disagreements. These comments are dangerous.”

When asked about the connection between the crimes committed and the Null brothers, Sheriff Leaf told a Fox Affiliate of Grand Rapids, “The two gentlemen that I know of from my county, were they involved in that? I don’t know. They’re innocent until proven guilty. And we really, really should be careful, trying to try them in the media.” The fact that Leaf attended this protest, in addition to the fact that he may have potential ties to the brothers, has fueled calls for his resignation.

As a Michigander, can I just say well I haven't always agreed with Gov. Whitmer, I certainly respect her. She's managed to gracefully handle a legitimately unprecedented statewide emergency, for months now. I mean it was a literal global pandemic, can you imagine the stress of knowing making the wrong decision could mean the deaths of thousands of your constituents... friends, neighbors, loved ones. She's done better than anyone could have expected, and shes thoughtfully made decisions with the safety of everyone in mind. I personally, would crumble under that pressure, but shes be a strong leader when we needed it. ..... and then there are THESE GUYS.

I know people are bored at home, but I'd like to humbly suggest maybe spending time with your family, or friends, or I dunno a therapist. Pick up an old hobby, read a book, be productive with all this free time.... plotting to kill the governor has got to be the worst way to spend your free time. what would it even accomplish? I mean it certainly wouldn't stop a global pandemic, unless these guys are God and have a say in that sort of thing or have convinced CD to see their side of it. I mean this is Detriot, were better than this. I mean we've literally watched the lions have a losing season for the last like 30 years, and literally blow it every game, and yet we all still remain hopeful "this could be the yea" (please note im using air quotes here, its never going to be our year we should all embrace that) .If we can all believe in the Lions, we should be able to get through anything. Detroiters don't throw a tantrum and conspire to commit murder when things get tough, we rub some dirt on it, suck it up, and get stronger from the hustle.

Every time you think societies reached some sort of bottom, other people decide it's time to compete for the title. What a bunch of fools. I bet they were all the same dudes who went to Costco and bought a lifetimes worth of toilet paper when the pandemic hit and got mad when they weren't allowed to return it. Embarrassed these winners are representing the mitten. I have no power to do so but I declare they get a lifetime ban on Faygo, Detroit sports, little caesars, all music from Detriot artist, and doing the Michigan thing where you use your hand as map when your trying to describe where a location is

The judge acknowledged some of the defendants did not have leadership roles, but said their participation in repeated discussions about kidnapping Whitmer and in surveillance of the governor’s home indicated they should remain locked up until trial.

Seven other men linked to a paramilitary group called the Wolverine Watchmen were charged in state court with allegedly seeking to storm the Michigan Capitol and providing material support for terrorist acts by seeking a “civil war.”

New, shocking details revealed at hearing for Gov. Whitmer kidnap plot

Three bond hearings were held Tuesday and bond was denied for all three defendants — Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, and Brandon Caserta. More bond hearings could be held in federal court in Grand Rapids on Friday.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Sally Berens said that two of the defendants — Fox and Ty Garbin, 24, of Hartland Township, want more time to prepare for their preliminary examinations and detention hearings. Hearings for Fox and Garbin will likely be completed at a later date, most likely on a Friday, she said.

New, shocking details revealed at hearing for Gov. Whitmer kidnap plot

Daniel Harris, a 23-year-old former Marine, also allegedly commissioned a hit on a Maine police officer in a text to accomplices that read: "Who would want to go to Maine to go kill a cop for a friend of mine?"

Brandon Caserta, 32, was enraged by a Sept. 19 police traffic stop near his home, during which he received a ticket for lacking a proper license or insurance. Using encrypted messages, he later told his co-conspirators that he had learned the names of the officers involved, knew they worked nights, and was considering conducting reconnaissance on them. "I could easily tap them," he reportedly said in an apparent reference to killing them.

Still later, Caserta recorded and shared a video, shared in court, in which he said he wanted to take out as many police officers as possible, referring to them as "motherf------s," and "government thugs." "I'm sick of being robbed and enslaved by the state," Caserta said in the video.

"Just talk" is going to be one of the defendant's defense?

I've been having "just talk" about doing a seven course Italian dinner for about ten years now. Did I actually plan the menu, buy the ingredients, invite guests, set the table and do the actual cooking? NO, no I did not.

These guys, they staked out her vacation house, scouted out a bridge and talked about blowing it up, plotted LE response time and were ordering stuff to make bombs. I'd say they left "just talk" far in the rearview.

MOO
