she is still missing. What sort of advice are you looking for?

A poster started another thread, included an IUD. I couldn't find Adele's thread, so started -- a third one (embarrassed.)

Always good to bring a thread to the top, right?

Thanks a bunch for checking Adele's thread!

They have been missing in Michigan the longest: 12 people last seen before 1970

Adele Marie Wells was last seen on Nov. 21, 1958, in Flint.

Police said Adele was walking to Jefferson Elementary School after staying home that morning with a slight cold.

She stopped at her grandmother’s house first, just blocks from her school, to show her how her mother had nicely done up her hair that day for school.

She left her grandmother’s home and was never seen again.

She was last seen wearing a grey cotton coat, a bluish dress with small animal figures along the lower hemline and red knee-length socks.

it’s great to see people still looking into this case. There used to be a convenience store called Mazie’s on the corner of North and Marengo. My dad grew up in that neighborhood and knew Adele’s family. He remembers a man living in the house next door to the convenience store who tried to abduct him a few years before Adele went missing. Sadly it was a pretty bad neighborhood even back then.

Did your dad ever report it to LE?

It looks like they kept her till she reached maturity, and then disposed of her. :(

What do you think? See the dent in the forehead?
Did you submit this? I see it.

Adele has DNA available. So I'm thinking any UP that also has DNA available can be considered auto-ruled out. But I always say, when in doubt, submit.

I went ahead and submitted them. They have not been compared before.

It doesn’t seem like every case is automatically cross checked. The state of Virginia seems to have run their cases through. It probably requires a bunch of money to do that.

The uid didn’t have any comparisons. Neither did Adele. The doe was found in Detroit, about an hour’s drive from Flint, where Adele lived. It is haunting how similar the faces look. I’ve never felt compelled to submit a match before.
