ROCHESTER. Mich. (WWJ) - A former Oakland University student who was banned from campus is missing.

In a Safety Alert issued Tuesday, the Oakland University Police Department said it's searching for 25-year-old Alexander Walker, who was last seen on OU's East Campus in Rochester on Saturday, August 3.

Police said Walker suffers from mental illness and may be a threat to himself or others. Police added that, according to his family, Walker may have access to weapons...

His family believes he may be a threat.

He is known to frequently wear a grey suit with a tie, as well as sunglasses at all hours of the day and night. He also is known to frequently carry a backpack.

Walker is currently homeless and does not have access to any vehicles, police said.

Missing former Oakland U student found

Bloomfield Township police said an employee at a fitness center near Long Lake recognized Walker and called 911. Officers went to the facility, took the 25-year-old into protective custody and transported him to a local hospital for an evaluation.

School officials said Alexander Walker has been receiving support service since being located.
