CENTREVILLE, Mich. — Two young girls are reported missing out of Centreville, Michigan, says the Michigan State Police, and the mother who lost custody is a suspect.

Alexandra Jay Prewitt, 6, and Jerrica Hope Tucker, 11, disappeared from the yard of their foster parents Thursday afternoon around 12:30 pm.

Recently, mother Samantha Hope Prewitt threatened to take the children as they played outside. MSP says that Prewitt lost rights to the girls.

MSP described Jerrica Hope Tucker as standing at 4 feet, 6 inches, with brown hair and eyes. She was wearing a grey shirt with black leggings and blue Crocs.

Alexandra Jay Prewitt is described as 3 feet, 7 inches tall, with blonde hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a white shirt and pink shorts with Crocs.

MSP confirms that Prewitt is suspected of having taken the children from Centreville.

Prewitt may also be traveling with a Scott Gray, says MSP.

Police are also looking for a dark blue Dodge Grand Caravan car with the Michigan license plate reading EPE5916.

If you have information about their whereabouts, call 911 or the investigating law enforcement agency at 269-467-4195.

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. — Two young girls taken from their foster parents' front yard in St. Joseph County Thursday were found safe in Kalamazoo County Friday, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office.

Michigan State Police troopers were searching for six-year-old Alexandra Jay Prewitt and 11-year-old Jerrica Hope Tucker.

Both went missing Thursday at a home in Centreville around 12:30 p.m.

The girls had been living with their foster parents for about a year, their foster dad Gilberto Trevino told News Channel 3.

He said he had just been outside with the girls before they went missing.

“I had just got done cutting the grass so I came over here to start doing the weeding and my battery went dead so I went inside to charge them back up," Trevino said. "I came back outside and asked my wife, ‘Where are the kids?’ [She said] they are probably walking around. We couldn’t find them nowhere.”

Trevino said due to previous threats that were made, he had a feeling they were taken by their biological mom, Samantha Hope Prewitt.

“After all the walking around, driving around, going to the stores and back, I said okay, this is serious. My wife called the case worker and I called 911," he said.

Trevino said he was most concerned about how Prewitt had found his address.

The girls were found at an apartment complex in Kalamazoo County and their biological mom was taken into custody to St. Joseph County Jail, according to St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite.

Prewitt had lost rights to her children and recently threatened to take them while they played outside, Michigan State Police said.
