On Saturday, 1 March 2025, the body of a deceased woman was found in the River Waal near the village of Winssen in Gelderland. More than six months later, her identity has still not been established.
Given the direction of the flow of the Waal River, it is possible that the unknown woman ended up in the river in Germany. Unfortunately, an appeal on 17 September on the German crime show “Aktenzeichen XY ... Ungelöst” did not yield any useful information.
The Dutch criminal investigation department is asking for your help with this investigation. Please get in touch if you have any information or suspicions about the deceased woman. Her age is difficult to estimate; she was probably at least 15, but she could also be much older.
Characteristics of the deceased
Small in stature: approximately 1.54 m
Dark, possibly shoulder-length hair
Presumed to be an adult: at least 15 years old
Slim build, clothing sizes XS, S and M
Possibly a scar on the front of the neck
Information from the video: the woman could've already been in the water for a few months.
The cause of death is unclear. A fatal accident has not been ruled out, nor has foul play. The main priority is to establish the woman's identity. Below are photos of the clothes she was wearing.
Hopefully, you can link the socks, shirt and/or T-shirt to someone who has been missing for a long time. In addition to the items of clothing in the photos, the woman was wearing size XS leggings and underpants with the text “love to lounge”, both purchased from Primark.
Another possible identifying feature could be the woman's teeth. Below is a photo of part of her teeth. Her front teeth overlapped slightly and she was missing two molars on the lower left side. Please contact the police if this means anything to you.
