Michigan State Police searching for missing toddler, mom

Snipped from article:

On Friday morning, state police tweeted that Sheldon had called her grandfather to tell him that her vehicle had been broken into and she would call him back.

"He advised that he has not heard from or seen Tara or Alydiauna since 1-12-20 after hanging up with her, neither have other family members or friends," police tweeted.

Not much info being provided here...

Are they from the area, or were they visiting someone?

Where were they last seen?

Presumably, TS has her phone with her, since she spoke with her grandfather on the phone.
LE will be tracking cell movement, obviously.

Does TS have a SO?
Any custodial issues or concerns? Medical and/or mental health issues?

Need a good reporter to do some digging on this one.

Police searching for missing Sanilac County woman and 3-year-old daughter

SABBM:

Tara Sheldon, 31, was last heard from when she was on the phone with her grandfather at approximately 9:45 p.m. Monday, according to Sanilac County Sheriff Gary Biniecki.

Sheldon told her grandfather that her vehicle had been broken into. This occurred at an unknown location, according to the Michigan State Police.
_____________

I'm wondering if it's possible that TS told her grandfather her car had broken down vs. being broken into.

I was wondering the same thing. Broken into makes me worry. Of course, breaking down and being missing is worrisome as well. Moo

She has been missing since Jan 12. I wonder why it took so long for this story to hit the news.

When was she reported missing to LE?

Do we know if it was grandpa who reported them missing, or someone else?

It would be odd if TS' grandfather didn't follow up with her after she called him to say her car had been broken into and had told him she'd call him back.

Surely LE will be able to ping TS's phone and get their location, at least at the time of the call.

Did TS tell her grandpa that she had AM with her at the time of the call?

I'm getting a little bit of a weird vibe with this one.

I agree. Either there is a lot more to the story and LE knows and it not particularly alarmed. OR they both disappeared and something awful happened and LE is clueless. Either way, a 3 yr old is missing and supposedly the car was broken into. Where is the alarm, searches. Etc?

I'm thinking LE may have only just gotten the miss per report...anybody seen mention of when LE was contacted?

O/T, but I've alerted a post to see if a mod can change the thread title to reflect that LE has classified AM as "Endangered Missing."

The word "endangered" has a way of generating a greater sense of urgency, as well as drawing more attention.

Does Mom have custody, or do the grandparents?

Good question! So many more questions than answers.

Did anyone see a Facebook missing page or anything? I did not.

Missing and endangered advisory issued for mother, 3-year-old daughter

SABBM:

Investigators say 31-year-old Tara Sheldon and her 3-year-old daughter Alydiauna Munn were last heard from around 9:45 p.m. Monday. A concerned grandfather reported them missing Thursday afternoon.

During a call with her grandfather on Monday, police say Sheldon told him her van had been broken into. She ended the call and told him she would call back, but she never did.

Police have contacted several friends and acquaintances, who also have not heard from Sheldon. She hasn't come to work at the Double Tree Hotel in Port Huron or made any contact with her managers.
______________

We're starting to see more details being reported now.

Grandfather is the one who reported them missing.

Unfortunately, he didn't report them missing until Thursday, which accounts for LE not issuing an alert earlier.

The fact that TS is employed but didn't call in to her employer is another detail I haven't seen in prior articles. I wonder if TS has ever been a no-call/no-show to work in the past or if this is completely out if character for her.

This new info makes their disappearance even more concerning.

Where is the “Munn” fellow who is either the little girl’s dad or, at the least, contributed his DNA & last name to her?

It concerns me that it took 3 days for them to be reported missing. Lots of lost time for LE.
