Was Amanda meeting someone at the gas station? Why would she ask to be dropped off there?

Nice sleuthing!

I, too, am wondering why she wanted dropped off at the gas station vs. a ride to AND from it. What else is around there? (Like a bus station or hotel etc?) Was she planning to meet someone at the gas station?

It appears from FB comments that someone is using her phone to post on Facebook.

If not her, then that's very strange and you'd think the police would be tracing it?

Great find! There is a March 16, 2020 post on one of Amanda's FB pages (https://www.facebook.com/amanda.hypes.3), which is a repost of a news story about the coronavirus. Could this be Amanda? Would she post on FB without telling her close family and friends where she was? Could it be someone using her phone? Would the DPD get a warrant to get the information from Facebook, if indeed facebook keeps that info? Have one of her family or a friend notified the Detroit PD about this post?

Amanda has done reposts in the several months preceding her disappearance. Before that, most of her posts were suggestive selfies. IMO, I can't decide if it is her or if it isn't her, but someone needs to alert the DPD about this. Perhaps they can even get a warrant for the phone records. Amanda has been missing for over one month.

I noticed the missing person poster says missing since Feb 20, 2020 which is different than the articles I’ve read that state she was last seen 2 days earlier. Not sure if family made the poster after they were able to report her as a missing adult (24 hours). That’s my best guess. I fear she may have met with foul play especially after I saw the suggestive photos which may be indicative of a risky lifestyle MOO. I hope I’m wrong

Sad to say, but that area is the epicenter of risky/unlawful behavior in Detroit. Arrests for drugs, trafficking, soliciting, are frequent. The strip clubs nearby are thin fronts for illegal activity.

Dozens of abandoned buildings nearby, many open, strewn with needles, condoms, pipes...

Thank you for your local input. Although google can pull up Amanda's location in seconds, it is hard to know what the human activities are in that particular location. I'm sorry to hear that where Amanda was, is an area with so many illegal activities.

Someone has put on her FB profile that she was found deceased. Can't find any verification of this.

Her grandmother passed away in June 2020 and Amanda "Brookie" Hypes is mentioned as having preceded her in death.
