What about the locks on the house door - were they bolt locks that needed a key to lock them and if so, where were her keys?

This reminds of that case up in WI - Mom disappeared and was found days later. Apparently the family was having financial problems which prompted her to leave. I can't remember her name though..........

James says he knew something was wrong when he called home around 10:00 am as he always did, but got no answer. When he drove home, his wife was gone, her driver's license and purse left behind.

“I thought maybe a friend stopped over and she went with them and would be right back, so I went for a ride to see her uptown and I come back and she still wasn't here and I knew if she wasn't back by the time the kids got off the bus something was definitely wrong,” said James.

James and family friends say it's not like Amy to leave without telling anyone and they say she would never miss greeting her two children after school.

“Never, not for any reason I could think of because she's a great mother, a great wife,” said James. “I just want her to come home safely.”

“She would not miss anything for her children,” said family friend Wendy Boyd, “she's just on top of it, organized.”

Friends and family are organizing search parties by snowmobile, car and on foot to try and locate Henslee.

As those efforts continue, James is dealing with a huge weight of emotion.

“Lost, helpless, don't know what to think, worried,” said James. “Just hoping someone out there knows something and can help us find her and bring her home safely because our kids need their mother and I need my wife.”

Did she exercise regularly - go on walks and/or run? If so, what was her usual routine and route? Did they have a dog or any animals?

I don't think the husband did anything to her. The police state in this article that that were no signs of domestic violence in the relationship.

HARTFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Friends and family of Amy Sue Henslee have been distributing flyers, alerting the community about the missing 30-year-old Hartford Township woman.

The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department issued a news release on Henslee on Tuesday evening.

She was last seen by her husband, James Henslee, in their home Monday morning, around 7:30.

James left for work around that time, and then tried calling Amy from his job at 10 a.m. He wasn't able to get ahold of her for the next half-hour, and then drove home to find the door locked and Amy missing, according to the release.

Amy didn't have access to a car, and left behind her purse and ID, police said. The couple lives in the 67000 block of CR 372.

She wasn't on any medication and didn't have any health issues, police added. After checking around with Amy's friends and some other family members, her husband called police at 10 p.m. and reported her missing.

Officers say they don't have many clues as to where she might be, and there are no signs of domestic violence in the marriage.

But - how many times did he try to call her before going home to check on her? I hope it was more than once! She could have been doing laundry, taking a shower, running a vacuum cleaner, etc. She wouldn't hear the phone ringing.

One of the articles stated he made several attempts to reach her between 10:00 am and 10:30 am.

okay... doors are locked... shoes and coat are missing... no sign of forced entry

that means she most likely went outside... but why lock the door if you are just going out to check the mail, etc...

are keys to the house missing?

I was looking for an article or video from when James said he used her cell phone to call her friends, thats where he got their #'s, I can't find it but I did hear on these tapes (the middle one) that James said "the dog was still outside"

which to me sounded like she wouldn't have left AND left the dog out ?

Good point about the mail, and what time it comes. Maybe she let the dog out, then went for the mail and something happened at that point ?

I'm baffled though about the locked doors though, if that was the case.

but someone just posted that the search has been called off by detectives... a group that had dogs was called off by detectives... fwiw..

street view addy's are approximate... if you go to white pages you will see that this is about bang on with the actual address fwiw...

man... it is a very rural area! where could she be?
