Did he stop to re-load? A shot gun holds two shells right? God bless those poor women.

Hi Breathe, we were talking about this earlier and if it was a shot gun there would be multiple wounds from just one shell. At least I hope that's the reason.

I find it very curious that cousin took the call from James & that he was able to answer at that time.

We know James got home shortly after 10a to find Amy gone..James calls neighbors & finds out about the truck prompting him to call cousin who said he had been there 9-9:30 but Amy not home..James at some point goes uptown looking for her but was this before OR after he talked to cousin? I'm only asking cos I'm trying to determine about what TIME he spoke to cousin..I assume by then he had already SHOT them..If not, where were they when he took the call? I also would like to know why he answered the phone in the first place..Was he afraid if he didn't James would stop by? And if it was so close to the time he SHOT them wasn't he too busy digging the grave when the call came in? And was it a cell or a land line phone at the house=he had already buried them or had just left them dead near the trailer while he went back down to the house to figure out what to do with them.

Bottom line is I'm pretty sure they were already DEAD when he talked to James..It makes my skin crawl just thinking about how EVIL someone is to do this to his cousin's wife & then to LIE to him knowing how frantic he was to find her.

I don't know whether they "had" to, or whether it just happened to be them who called. This is from thread 1:

Thanks Carbuff, I'd missed that. Thank goodness for MTrooper's help.

All good questions, my guess is he didn't want James trying to find him.

Pump action or semiautomatic shotguns can hold maybe 5-10 rounds depending on the make and model so he didn't necessarily have to reload.

I fear that the truth will never be known about why he picked up Amy and how both women ended up dead. Whatever story he tells is likely to be a lie unless he spills his guts and pleads guilty to spare all three families the misery of a trial. Any story he gives if he chooses to go to trial will be whatever he can come up with to save himself from the double murder charges.

Imagine the torment his kids will get at school and around town, they will be victims along with the two women and their families.

OMG. It would take quite a while to shovel by hand. Yes, everything is frozen solid.

And we have what is known as "lake effect snow". Meaning Lake Michigan has its own weather system that dumps waayy more snow on us than seems neccessary. I hate that phrase. I hate hearing it on the news describing our weather. Ugh.

I suppose it could be possible that he had dug the hole prior to the ground freezing for whatever purpose, and then this happened, so he used the hole already made....:dunno:

Tonya lived with him and the neighbor said that there had been two women in the truck. Tonya's kids and parents also said that she had been at the trailer with him all week...that is why they didn't realize she was missing.

The Uncle said BB lived with his parents in ?? & Tonya stayed there at the house to take care of the dogs but she'd often go to where BB was..Tonya's parents said BB called to tell them she was away at a friends house & her phone was broken which is why she couldn't call them herself..He did this obviously cos he feared someone would be looking for her at some point.

I'd provide the links to the video interviews if I could but there's so MANY of them on so MANY diff news sites I don't know where to begin to look..We don't often see this MUCH coverage on a case!

There's a house not far from the road..IOW! I don't believe anyone ever stays in that rundown 'trailer' located back in the woods behind the house..There seems to be some confusion over that?

Oh..........I didn't even know there was such a thing. (Gulps) Thank you!

I just pray he doesn't lie to hurt the family worse by saying he and Amy were having an affair if it isn't true. (Personally, I don't feel they were)

The comparison between a shotgun and BB's: A shotgun shoots so much shot and at such a high velolicty that the effects on a human or animal at close range are disfiguring and lethal. It can make identifying people difficult as the results are very destructive.

Is it possible to shoot a shotgun with one hand? Difficult but possible?

I've NEVER heard a gunshot in my life & I hope I NEVER do!

I'm very happy here in the burbs on the east coast..No offense to anyone :)

Hello. I have lurked about for quite some time, and decided to join and voice my concerns, to see if any of you can help me sort this tragedy out in my mind and heart. So senseless. I, like all others, have many questions...I can't help but wonder if he did not shoot one of them going out the door, and the other one was in front...and the same shots killed them both in the doorway...and why did he not clean up the blood pool in the doorway....I just don't understand why this had to happen!

I am still alive and well...

Welcome, Missouri Mom...what a sad case to bring you to post...

Welcome MM!! I don't understand why it had to happen either :(

I also don't get why he just left the pool of blood..He took the time to bury them days before so it wasn't like he didn't get a chance to do it.. Very strange! imho

Welcome Missouri Mom! Glad to have you here. There is no reason this had to happen. He made a very selfish permanent choice that destroyed dozens of lives. I'm not sure why he didn't think to clean up either. He may not have been able to stomach cleaning it up after he buried them.

This really depends on what gauge and shot size a person is using. People hunt dove with shotguns, so there are great variances.
