Has anybody heard how they r cousins dads are bros or through mom? Just curious

They are cousins through James' father (the Henslee's).....and not sure on Juniors side if it's his dad or his mom.

It looks like a tiller to me. A generator usually doesn't have handles on it to guide it.

He could have used this to break up the ground.

IMO
This is an electric generator, it's portable so it can be moved from one area to another. That's why it has wheels and a handle, I have one similar to it because I live in hurricane country. This would provide electricity to his camper.

He's in the Van Buren County Jail..I don't see the booking sheet tho, maybe you can find it.

http://www.vanburencountysheriff.com/corrections.htm

Well, krout...I'm just not intelligent enough to figure out how to pull it up...maybe they don't have public access to those records, I don't know. Just thought we could verify his actual residence of either the trailer or Bangor through the information given on booking sheet or through court records, so much for that idea! :maddening:

  • #364
Regarding the trailer, I thought, in the beginning, it was said to be a hunting cabin/trailer. Not something that was lived in.

so why would 2 women go there???

I still think Amy went to help Tonya remove her personal items, made him mad, and he went bizerk! I don't think Amy and Tonya were best of friends, however I do think Amy was someone that Tonya perhaps looked up to. It was stated she was trying to turn her life around, and I'm thinking perhaps Amy was a role model for her to do this...and she felt comfortable around Amy, hence asking for assistance. JMO

This story was posted Wednesday January 26th at 12:00 indicating James knew at that time about the truck being spotted at his house and had already talked to Beebe.
http://videos.mlive.com/kzgazette/2011/01/henslee_friend_talks_about_amy.html
This video dated Thursday January 27th, Wendy Boyd indicated the morning before (again Wednesday morning) it was reported by the neigbor that the neighbor saw 2 women in the truck. I can only assume this was the "good lead" that was mentioned in several interviews during those 2 days.
http://www.mlive.com/news/kalamazoo/index.ssf/2011/01/henslee_family_friend_will_adv.html Wendy Boyd indicated that a police official advised them to hold off on calling the search-and-rescue dogs in. She stated “We wish we would have never made the phone call to put it on hold,” Boyd said. Boyd said she doesn’t believe they would have discovered Henslee alive but they may have found her body sooner.

I don't blame James at all! Sorry if it came across that way.

I believe he told LE about BB being there but can't fathom why he had no doubts in his mind re: he may have been involved with her disappearance..It's been reported he's known to have a "violent temper" & has a criminal background..Surely, James of all ppl had to know all of this about his cousin.

If he had no concerns at all that kinda tells me it's most likely BB had come by before while James was at work & it was just coincidence it happened to be this day..It also disputes he had any reason to think they were possibly having an affair..I personally don't buy this 'rumor' btw.

I do understand what you are saying somewhat amysmom but really as far as I know Jr. had never acted violently toward James or Amy before this.

Lot of people have a spitfire temper at times and those who knows Jr even said he wasnt that way all the time and he was very helpful to others.

I don't think there was anything in his criminal history that would have made James think it was dangerous for him to be around Amy. The domestic violence seem to be against women he was dating....not his family's wives.

But I have no doubt that James was up front and truthful with LE about his cousin. He did call him when he was frantically searching for Amy after the neighbor described Jrs truck and it was LEs job to investigate it and they did.

I do agree with you, I imagine Jr. had come by before. It isn't uncommon for kinfolk to drop by someone's house if they are in the area. I read that he also cleared the snow from the driveway for Amy and James so of course he would be there most likely after James had gone to work and he may have provided them with firewood he sold also.

I don't think for one minute James thought they were having an affair. I think he trusted Amy explicitly. She was known as a sweet loving devoted mother and wife.

That is why James knew something was immediately wrong because Amy was dependable and she was there when she said she would be. He called her everyday from work on his break and probably his afternoon break as well.

So I don't think he had a clue as to what happened to his wife when she didnt answer the phone but he did know something had happen because Amy wasn't the type to just leave and not tell anyone, imo.

Oh thank you GrannyP

Our generators down here in Georgia do not have handles to pull them around or I have never seen one and we are right in tornado country. The ones I see are set up on a small trailer that fits the generator and that is how they are moved from place to place.

James Henslee Discusses Amy's Disappearance, Murder:

The Missing You Foundation and Mid-Michigan Working Dogs contacted James and offered to search for Amy. "They're comforting, and they have a lot of confidence in their dogs and it shows. those dogs are something else," James said. He asked them to look at a cousin's property.

Hmmmm...so it was HIS idea to have them look at his cousin's property...that answers several questions we've had today...

It probably kept nagging at him that the neighbor said a woman was seen leaving in the black truck from his home and he knew it had to be Jr and Amy since there was no other sightings of her.

So I am so glad James persevered...........he is a hero in my eyes since he is the one that brought the dogs there that really broke the case wide open.

It shows blood kin doesn't always mean there is a tighter bond over the love someone has in their heart for their spouse.

Bless you James!

LE began the initial investigation Monday night. In my opinion, all evidence points to the fact that the neigbor gave the statement to LE about 2 women being in the truck when it drove away at some point Tuesday. I seriously doubt this neighbor who knew she had imortant information would have held it and waited to report this. When Bebee reported to James that he was alone, and drove away alone ... LE had to have made the connection that Bebee was not being truthful and there had to be a reason why he lied about being alone. It seems the neighbor's story was pretty solid, outside of the fact that she couldn't say 100% that it was Amy, but could say 2 women which is far from being alone. Tuesday this connection should have been made. In my opinion, I don't believe the family was given the 2 women story until Wednesday morning, or I believe they they would have acted in the same way Tuesday as they did Wednsday directly after hearing the 2 women in the truck story (reference again above video with Wendy Boyd) and called the search-and-rescue in. Then LE advised against bringing in the search dogs. Why after making the connection would LE advise against this? The family acted against the advice of LE on their own gut feelings and called again to ask the rescue dogs to come immediately. Personally, I am now convinced that the women were shot Monday, and Bebee spent as much time as he could burrying them and then returned to his mother's house in Bangor and acted as if nothing happened. I would bet that after Tuesday, LE had him under 24 hour surveillance. Maybe the reason for the delay was that they wanted to watch him to gather more evidence. LE must have been convinced that she was already gone, and that time was not of the essence. I do hope that it was only the public that they were trying to trick into actually believing she was still alive, and not the family. I guess we will never know what they were actually telling the family and what information they could talk about in the interviews.

Yes, he did persevere..Wow, just watching that video of him talking with that reporter...he is a strong person, and I believe a good person! My heart just aches for him and those boys...brought tears to my eyes....why do these senseless tragedies have to happen!

Oh my gosh...tears are just rolling down my cheeks as I watch this interview. I love how he speaks of her in the present tense. He truly, truly loved his wife.

ETA-

Any previous posts I have made about speculations, I believe, were totally off base. This was just a horrible, horrible tragedy and he had a hunch that something was wrong -- that's why he went home -- just a niggling hunch that something wasn't right.

May God bless James and his boys...and all of the rest of the families involved.

Everything he did, he did right and it's obvious he knew something was really wrong.

OMG, that was hard to watch. But what a strong man and you can tell he loved Amy so much. This crime is so senseless.

WTH was his cousin thinking? He had no right to take away anyone's life and now there are so many victims of his awful crime. :(

I admit I was totally off base to think James had not put 2+2 together re: his cuz..I really didn't get why not..Now I owe him a huge apology!

eta..Has anyone else noticed how often he changes from past to present tense when talking about Amy? So sad :(

eta..I see now I'm not the only one that noticed the 'present' tense.

James is everything BB is not! Cousins yet worlds apart in every way! It's so obvious listening to James in this interview..I hope he gets "Amy's Wish" off the ground! I have no doubt he'll try his best to make it happen.

A love like theirs is so rare..WHY oh WHY did this have to happen to 'them'! :banghead:

Damn that BB, Jr, or whatever name he went by..In prison it won't matter cos he'll just be another # like all the other SCUM in there!

If true I would've rather seen LE begin the search on that property then watch the suspect..They would've known much sooner Amy was dead for sure & what better evidence then to find her (& Tonya) buried on his property..But most of all, I believe the recovery should always be a priority..I can't stand the thought of Amy (or anyone else) being 'out there' a minute longer then necessary..I can't deal at all with it taking years to discover the body of a loved one or never finding it all..I won't get into all the reasons why, some of it gory, so I am relieved that Amy (& Tonya) were found even if I feel, in this case, it took longer then it should have.
