witness was unable to get a good print off the gun (only partial ridge), says the success rate of getting prints off a gun in any case is only 10%. I think I heard next witness is firearms examiner (for gunpowder residue) they are leaving the gun up there. Defense wanted clarification that this does not necessarily mean someone wiped the gun down - witness agrees.

Thanks for all the update postings - the above postings cover the testimony for the past hour+ from the State Crime Lab firearms examiner. I was also going to post screencaps and snippets from the live trial but got pulled away grrr... will try once we're out of the morning break.

Too bad they couldn't make Beebe get in there and attempt demonstrate his version of events. That might have sealed a conviction for murder 1.

pros: so we understand when we collect a sample and 2 donors, does that mean 2 people bled?
KM: not necessarily, other biological material could have contributed to sample for other donor.

pros: next sample L11D, what is it?

KM: swab of entry doorway bottom corner, 2 donors - major DNA types matched, TH, JB, JH excluded - inconclusive as to AH.

moving on to swab 12 (kitchen countertop)

KM: L12D bloodstain matches JB, TH & AH & JH excluded. No dating on stain, could have occurred weeks ago.

L13 - swab of kitchenette baseboard blood

KM: 2 donors associated - major DNA matched TH, JB & AH & JH excluded.

L14D blood (still kitchenette)

KM: matched TH, AH & JH excluded, no determination as to JB

L17 swab of right bottom corner kitchenette

KM: 2 donors, matched TH, JB cannot be excluded, AH & JH excluded.

L3D swab of shotgun grip

KM: match JB at 12 diff locations incl sex typing marker, TH & JH excluded from DNA typing, no conclusive on AH

pros: TH not a donor?

Hunt: bedding found in hole outside trailer - any blood

KM: yes, but not processed

Hunt: why not?

KM: both victims bleeding onto bedding, no need

Hunt: what if turns out hole wasn't dug until 3 days later, then bleeding on bodies would have stopped right...if bodies not placed in grave until laying for 2/3 days - at that point would not be contaminating bedding right?

KM: not necessarily, still could be a transfer of blood

hunt: had you tested the bedding, might you have been able to determine likelihood that one or another primary donor of blood?

KM: the whole stain itself would not have been collected, just a portion large enough to develop profile - cannot look at stain and determine who was larger contributor, just the number of donors.

I cant watch the trial due to my slow computer connection so I appriciate all the post from those who are watching.

This case has baffled me from the beginning and the trial doesnt seem to be clearing it up much for me. I dont think I will know what happened for sure even after its all said and done. JMO
