Wow, I can't anything on this case whatsoever. I was able to find an obit for Walter Kirkpatrick Sr, and he lists Kirkpatrick Jr as surviving him as of 2021.

Ashley would be in her 40s now. There's no reason she should still be listed as missing if she is an adult woman in her 40s... this seems to suggest she isn't so safe and sound.

If she has yet to be found, Walter Jr needs to be held to the fire a little bit. It's been long enough.

Can anyone find any articles or information on Ashley?

Well now I just feel stupid. I think this is her:

I wonder why she is still listed as missing?

Oooo @Aurora90 good find! Under her friends, you can find 2 men with her father's name, one older from Inkster, one younger from Detroit. I'm pretty sure this one's solved.

that’s how I found her!

Through her dad’s Facebook. It looks like the father was actually doing a good thing and removing her from a bad environment.

Judging by her profile, it’s evident that Ashley has grown up to be a beautiful successful woman.

One of her posts stated she was “doing all of this” for her mother. Insinuating that she may have passed. It’s easy to connect the dots here.

I feel terrible for assuming the worst I just didn’t expect this profile to still be up if she was found a long time ago.

I think this also highlights a bigger issue. No one was looking for a missing 12 year-old black teenage girl in Michigan? The case has still been open? That should be alarming in of itself. And then to find out actually she’s been alive and well this entire time?

Honestly, I think it goes to show not all cases are being “actively investigated “ I think sometimes it’s a cop out, excuse the pun.

Anyone want to send this to Namus? I will send info to Mary Bell at DoeNetwork. :)

I also want to state how glad I am to be able to see an update like this one.

Positive outcomes on cases like this are rare. Especially given the age, race, gender of Kirkpatrick combined with how long shes been listed as missing and how bare her profile was. I was worried.

I’m just really happy she’s alive and well!

Now we need to get her case closed. It sounds like it was a turbulent time that she was able to rise above. There’s no need to keep this up anymore.

It's awesome to see a missing child with a positive outcome! I am looking at Michigan cases right now, and is really disappoints me that Michigan has VERY few missing persons posters/flyers. I find them for most other states, but Michigan is really lacking. They have very few TV news stories or updates on these old cases too.

I sent an email. I’m glad to see that the case has closed. I expect NamUs to go down soon too. :)
