It all started on Saturday when a homeowner saw a body floating in a pond near their property and immediately contacted police.

Around 4:00 p.m. Ingham County deputies responded to South Onondaga road in Aurelius Township.

The crews on scene found the body and removed it from the pond and took it away for an autopsy.

The Sheriff confirmed the victim was a man today, and also said that the body was in the water for some time so it’s hard for them to identify.

Police identify 43-year-old man found dead in Aurelius Township pond

The medical examiner identified the man as Michael Paul Kredell, 43, of Harrisville, according to a news release from the Ingham County Sheriff's Office.

Kredell was not reported missing, Daenzer said. Police are working on a timeline to determine when he was last seen.

Kredell allegedly cut off his house arrest tether in Alcona County, according to TV station WBKB 11. He was on bond for a violation of a personal protection order and was supposed to appear in court for an aggravated stalking charge stemming from a June incident.
