In October 2008, Vincent Polasky, 16, of Allen Park was killed after he was struck by a car while he was crossing Reeck Road at Allen Road.

Nineteen months later, in May 2010, his mother, Barbara Tyslicki, also an Allen Park resident, disappeared without a trace. She was last seen by her brother, Walter Tyslicki, at a church in Taylor across from Southland Center.

She'd lost her only child:

We don’t have any details about any relationships or other info really at all. She could have been distraught at that point still, but again, where did she go? Are there Wooded areas nearby? Did she have firearm access or anything like that?
