They've changed this article to say that Banika Jones is the mother. So now I am wondering if Rakida Mitchell is the mother of the half-sister that is also two. The mother of this girl said that Deandre left with his daughter, Bianca, at 7:30 in the "breaking news" video at clickondetroit.com.

Mitchell is the name of the street where the house is in which Bianca's father was staying. Geez! Could local media have messed up on this, too?

Per Chief...did canine search of vehicle, did not get a "hit" that would produce Bianca

ay yi yi. Still praying she is found safely, hoping against hope...

Me too...she must be so scared right now, if she's out there somewhere without her family. :( I hope the locals will have a good update from the nightly news to share with us.

Here we go again...I am so sick of typing this - when was the last INDEPENDENT sighting of Bianca? Not parents/family members...

Just watched the horrific story of little 2 yr old Tierra on NG . It makes me very worried for Bianca.

Trying to go through the thread again.

The above msm article was updated. The following Jones being quoted is OJ, moms brother.

Jones said the girl had been staying with her father for the past week and last night was the last time that mom Banika Jones spoke his niece.
“We both talked to her last night over the phone. We were just talking to her and she was just over her dad’s house for a week and stuff. We were just talking to her because we hadn’t heard from her,” said Jones.

ETA: so it appears the child was staying at her fathers for the past week. Mom and uncle 'spoke' with the child last night. Bianca just turned two. I know each child reaches milestones at different stages, but there were two little girls aged two in the home. I find myself wondering, at 2, how much different the two little girls really sounded. I don't know many 2 yr olds that say much if anything on the phone. At 2, their attention spans are so short, I'm not sure we can consider this 'confirmation' Bianca was alive and well last evening.

thinking out loud and making notes as I try to go through the thread again. Note uncle OJ's comment "We were just talking to her because we hadn't heard from her". How many times did mom speak with Bianca this last week? What was trying to make contact like for mom this past week? Was she getting a lot of excuses from dad putting the phone contact off ? (speaking as an SP myself - coparenting is not easy.)

That would be creepy. Somebody slams into your back end and then tells you your tail lights are out. I would NOT stop and get out of my car, ESPECIALLY if I had a child in the car.

This guys stories are getting too detailed, down to the perps' clothes and car, yet he doesn't grab his own child. Sorry, this does not pass the smell test, and I DON'T expect to be eating any crow. I can imagine the mother is devastated.

Yep. In fact this ploy is used so often in Memphis, the cops warn folks to stay locked up in their car until the cops come; and if someone starts approaching the car to go to a safe place and then phone in the accident.

Video here says they searched the Dad's house but wouldn't say if anything that was found. 50 officers walked neighborhood looking in vehicles, under furniture, used helicopters and tracking dogs. Some officers went to the house were the father was staying on Detroit's East side. There was a two-year-old girl inside the house but this girl was determined to be Bianca's half sister. There was a woman in the house, the other girls' mother, who said the father left the house at 7:30. She said the father left with the girl (Bianca). She also said Bianca had spent several nights at the house. She declined a live interview.

So Bianca had spent several nights at the house, then why was her father taking her over to her mother's house to get clothes because she was going to stay with him for the next week?? :waitasec: Why couldn't her clothes be washed? Something happened to this baby while she was staying with her father's house, IMO. :maddening:

Nite all - prayers for Bianca's safe return.

“She is very intelligent,” said Olando Jones, 20. “She’s so smart and can speak and she’s really good and loves to read.”

This hurts my heart. :( Where is this baby?

New lead and new reward about to be announced. I am taping local news..will update here as I can. Also will post a suspect sketch being shown.

  • #151
Bianca's father still with police, still being questioned "extensively". Reward stands at $7.5k right now, accumulated. Fathers car has been gone over from top to bottom.

  • #152
Police are going back over fathers actions of past 48 hours to see if his stories match up.

Exactly! And I'm leaning strongly on the other childs mother knowing what happened. It's probably too soon to guess he lives with his other child and other childs mother..... but that is what I am speculating.....

Fox 2 reports the carjacking occured on the 200 block of Custer Street. Police later recovered the stolen vehicle on Beaubien between Euclid and Philadelphia, but Bianca Jones was not inside.

I'm pretty sure that this would be the intersection where the car was allegedly taken, if the MLive article is correct (hit or miss on their reporting sometimes).

ETA: This is the location given by their local TV news:
The father of the two-year-old Bianca Jones reported that he was carjacked near Custer and Brush Street just north of West Grand Boulevard. The child was in a car seat in the back of the grey Grand Marquis when an unknown suspect drove off
Read more: http://www.wxyz.com/dpp/news/region...acking-and-missing-two-year-old#ixzz1fOrdH5V7

And that would be: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&n...code_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCEQ8gEwAA

Brush and Custer cross at the second map location, however, Grand Blvd is two blocks over from Custer, and runs in the same direction. THe two map locations are only a couple blocks apart, so it was somewhere in that general area.

Still going over the thread. Sorry for the delays, too much real life going on right now.

The above map is where the alleged carjacking occured. I'm trying to find out where the car was found in relation to where the car was 'carjacked', where the car was found and where dad lives. Haven't gotten that far yet (and prolly won't tonight). I did however notice there is an Enterprise rental location within about 3 blocks of where the car was allegedly stolen.

Is it just me or does anyone else think the squinty eyed evil look is just a little too much description on this alleged carjacker?

Timeline from here: http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/...girl/-/1719418/4863614/-/cspr2nz/-/index.html

Timeline:

•7:30 a.m. Bianca leaves a home on Mitchell Street with her father

•9:55: a.m.: Lane reports he was carjacked on Beaubien, between Euclid and Philadelphia

•10:15 a.m.: Police find Lane’s vehicle just blocks away in an alley off Brush between Philadelphia and Euclid

This does not clarify things for me. How far is Mitchell from Beaubien? Certainly not almost 2 and a half hours??

Edited to add: per Google maps, it is 7.5 miles from Mitchell St to Beaubien.

Prayers for you, sweet Bianca.........

If I'm to presume the timeline to be true, what was daddy doing between leaving the house at 7:30 AM and 9:55 Am when the carjack was reported. If I look at this map, the distance doesn't appear to be an hour distance, let alone 2 hours.

See map attached --

My theory this many hours later. If this car was really carjacked the child would have been found hours ago. From memory when a car is found the child is found not too long after.

My theory, and I hate to say it, but I wonder if dad and step mom didn't like how Bianca played with her 2 yr old half sibling. Many of us remember how two two year olds play next to each other. They don't really play together. They get fussy over who gets what toy with one seemingly only interested in what the other one has.

I hate to say it but I think we're going to learn this was originally supposed to be a much shorter visit. Something happened and dad and step mom had to keep delaying returning Bianca to her mom. Which would explain why she needed more clothes. When mom finally said enough is enough, I want her home TODAY, or tomorrow if she made this demand last night, they had to come up with something quickly, hence the 'car jacking'.

Someone posted upthread how common it is for carjackers to ram the rear of a vehicle. Come on, we've known that for well over a decade. I might think an elderly person might fall to that kind of 'scam', but not a young man in his 30's. Nope, this was a quick ploy they concocted when they couldn't return Bianca to her mommy.

:( I hope I'm wrong........
