Timeline:

•7:30 a.m. Bianca leaves a home on Mitchell Street with her father

•9:55: a.m.: Lane reports he was carjacked on Beaubien, between Euclid and Philadelphia

•10:15 a.m.: Police find Lane’s vehicle just blocks away in an alley off Brush between Philadelphia and Euclid

According to the father, the car was hijacked and he ran to Bianca's mother's house and they called LE.

Do we know where that house is on the map? Remember, it took him nearly two and a half hours to get from his house to the place where he was carjacked.

He was carjacked at 9:55, then ran to Bianca's mother's house and they called LE at 10:15.

It took him 2.5 hours to drive a mile, or so and 20 minutes to run from the car to the mother's house.

It was reported upthread it is appx 6 miles from Dads home on Mitchell to Moms home. (and that the alleged carjacking occured within a few blocks of moms home). But yes, whether it was 1 mile or 6 miles there is no way to explain that 2.5 hour commute that morning. (iow no hurricane or blizzard weather to really explain such a long commute).

Anyone got a live link for the press conference? It's already 5 minutes after 3.

I can't imagine another 2 year old posing as someone else.

"Hey Bianca, how are you baby"
"I not Bianca"

If you have ever spoken to a 2 yr old on the phone they don't even have the attention span or the verbal capacity to reply with "I am not Bianca" yet.

My 3.5 yr old nephew doesn't have the capacity for more than a few minutes at most on the phone with his 9 yr old cousin. And far less for an adult. I might be lucky if I can hold his attention for 30 seconds on the phone.

I can't find a link anywhere, I'm hoping they'll post the raw video after it's over. Yesterday they posted it on clickondetroit.com.

All three of my boys, when they were 2, could state "I not _____" if called by the wrong name. Her mom's description of her indicates she's really chatty - uses an old cell phone as a toy and has animated pretend conversations - so I would think another 2 year old would be easy to distinguish from Bianca on the phone.

But I agree, most kids just sit there and stare at the phone and often don't even answer questions.

We can't be sure about the last part of that, because it's also been reported that the mother had to find out from other family, and that she has not spoken directly to him since Bianca disappeared.

I meant the mother's parents' house - I believe they all lived together.

I might have missed this info but was bianca's car seat found in the abandoned car?

Also, it doesn't seem reasonable a man carjacked another person at gunpoint just to dump the car a few blocks away. I've wondered if, maybe, biodad was known to sell drugs and he was targeted for that reason. But, drug runs don't usually occur that early since drug users don't function well in the early morning hours.

Another thought, this is like that law and order svu episode that was discussed on sky's thread.

But you'd be able to tell them apart, wouldn't you, if the child laughed, or if she did something unusual (like not talking when you know she's verbal and likes to talk on the phone), no?

I am not sure. These 2 girls were half sisters, so they may have sounded a lot alike. I like to think that I would recognize my own 2 yr olds voice over a half siblings, but I am not sure I would if she did the usual 2 yr old mumbling and quiet talking.

And even if your kid is usually verbal on the phone, we all know that 2 yr olds are very unpredictable. I could see a mom just assuming it was her child even if the child seemed shy or did not talk that much that call.

I fully agree with your scenario in person. But on the phone not so much so. I'm really interested in finding out the details on how often Binaka tried to phone her daughter this past week and what kind of response or excuses she may have heard from Dad and his girlfriend.

I'm also very much interested in hearing about why her daughter was immediately sent to stay with dad and his girlfriend for a full week. Did dad delay and make excuses for not wanting to return her when she was originally expected back? Or did mom have a situation where she needed daycare and dad and gf were able to provide such on short notice?

When my son first met his dad he was 4 and we started with a few hour day visits only. He didn't transition into overnights for almost a year, dads choice.

So kind of waiting to see what transpires on some of these unanswered questions.

Not if mom says "hey baby, we are playing a pretend game. Biancas mommy misses her can you pretend and say HI MAMA to her for me?"

Especially if she was aware of what scary things had already happened.

As I posted earlier, Bianca's family said she was really talkative, smart, spoke well, like to watch Jeopardy and read. They said she carried around an old cell phone and talked on it. Yet, when they talked to 'her' on the phone she just said words. Now I wonder if it really was her. Maybe we will find out eventually.

Two year olds are very unpredictable, I agree.

Maybe the half sister was planted in front of the tv watching her favorite show and they just put the phone up to her. She could've just babbled about her show. 2 year olds have difficulty splitting their attention.

Good point on the voices sounding similiar. Especially being related. I've noticed that in some people too. In fact, my plumbers nephew does contracting work for him and they almost sound identical on the phone. My son, when he was younger, sounded almost identical to his great grandma.

Plus, sometimes 2 yr olds will just repeat what someone else says... so it's possible instead of saying I'm not Bianca, the other child could have simply repeated what she was hearing and said Bianca. Especially if she had started using her half sisters name.

Lots of twitter activity #BiancaJones. Mostly folks asking to BOTL, but one from a family member states she also goes by the name "be be" in addition to bacon, and she usually wears a purple coat w/ a hood and white fur trim, she has light skin, brwn hair.

Glad to see there is so much activity!

The car seat was found in the car and the car was found running.

And drug dealers like to stay low key. They don't want to get caught. Kidnapping a child would draw far more attention to the average street dealer than they'd like imo.

Melissa Isaac, 30, was walking her children to the school bus stop on Glendale Street near 14th Street just before 8 a.m. when she saw Lane drive by, though she didn't pay attention as to whether any children were in the car. One of Lane's daughters is in her son's second-grade class at a school in Highland Park.

Some time could have been taking sibling to school.

So if there's a school age child living in that house, she'll be able to answer whether Bianca was there that morning.
