LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Officials with the Berrien County Sheriff's Office were investigating Sunday after the body of an unidentified woman washed up on the shore of Lake Michigan just north of Warren Dunes State Park.
A statement from the department reports a person was walking on the beach at 12:40 p.m. and spotted the remains of the unidentified female, who had washed up on the shore of the Lake Township beach.
Several agencies responded to the scene, including Lake Township Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources from the state park. The incident remains under investigation and an autopsy of the female is planned for Monday at WMed in Kalamazoo.
