Authorities following up on tip in relation to missing Alpena teen

“Police are currently searching property behind a house on Naylor Road in Alpena Township, following up on a tip in relation to the disappearance of Brynn Bills, who was last seen in Alpena and has been missing since Aug. 3.”

“A backhoe was brought in about 12:30 p.m.

Police indicated the residence has been unoccupied the last few days. According to court records, police arrested a resident of the house on Monday night, on charges separate from the Bills case.

On Tuesday, Joshua Wirgau, a resident at the home, was arraigned in the 88th District Court on charges of unlawful imprisonment and assault with a dangerous weapon.”

“Wirgau is also being charged as a repeat offender, as he has a long list of prior charges, including felonies, for CSC and drug crimes.”

Hmmm wonder if AH who has a warrant and has not been seen is involved in any way? I hope there isn't any "body" where they're digging, but answers would be a great relief for Brynn's family if that is the case here. Thanks for updating us on this!! moo

Update:
Michigan State Police have been searching a home in Alpena since Tuesday morning.

Details on the care are still limited, but troopers have been coming and going since about noon, all working to find Brynn Bills.

The State Police Crime Lab from Grayling is still on the scene and a team has been digging in the backyard.


9&10 News has learned that the homeowner at this property was arrested on charges of assault and unlawful imprisonment.

State Police say the arrest is connected to an unrelated investigation.

9&10 News has learned that the homeowner at this property was arrested on charges of assault and unlawful imprisonment.

State Police say the arrest is connected to an unrelated investigation.

So this guy is a registered sex-offender and is charged for keeping someone in his house against his/her will (unlawful imprisonment)? An unrelated investigation? It might be someone else buried there, if there is someone buried at all? Is that what this means? Are there more people missing besides Brynn. Could it be AH?

Trying to be patient and wait for the presser.

So it looks like there was another person living at that address besides Joshua. Since there are toys outside, it makes me think that a woman lives there also. Did she file the charges for which he is being held? I'm also wondering if she - or the person who co-owns the house with him - is the one who provided information about Brynn.

Hopefully, we'll know more tomorrow after the press conference.
