Detroit police searching for missing 12-year-old girl

She was last seen leaving her school on Friday.

DETROIT (FOX 2) - Detroit police are asking for help locating a missing 12-year-old girl, Canyla Turner.

Police say she was last seen leaving her school in the area of Moross and I-94 on Friday at around 2:45 p.m.

Police say she was wearing gold or yellow hooded sweatshirt with a
"Central" school logo on it. She is described as 5 feet, 2 inches, and 160 lb.

Anyone with information is asked to call the 5th precinct at 313-596-5501.

Apparently she didn't board a school bus unless someone grabbed her after she got off the bus. Was she walking home and something happened? Did she go with a friend somewhere, and something happened? Did she not want to go home? Did someone she knew offer her a ride home, and...
I can't see her getting lost on the way home from school unless her family had just moved into it and she did get lost.
And so on...

Here's some quick sleuthing/fact finding:

- Detroit PD post on FB specifies she was last seen in the block of 6100 Canyon, which narrows it down to her attending Marquette Elementary/Middle School, which serves K-8.
- According to the school's calendar, Oct 17-21 was "college week" and the students were allowed to wear college apparel Marquette / Calendar
- Without more specific info, "Central" is thus probably Central Michigan University, located in Mt. Pleasant, MI, about 160 miles away from Harper Woods (where Marquette is located)
- Bell schedule is 7:30 to 2:40 Our School / School Overview
- The website says there is transportation, so I assume they provide some kind of centralized school bus system. Can't find more detailed info at the moment.
