Prayers for Cpl. Edwards family. May he rest in peace.

Senseless. 🤬🤬🤬 had an extensive criminal record including robbery and assault with intent to murder? 🤬🤬🤬 shouldn't have been on the street.:furious:

From July 2015:

http://thenewsherald.com/articles/2015/07/24/news/doc55b15356dff7f917666301.txt

Early in the morning on July 23, 2010, Edwards and his partner, Cpl. Greg Piche, responded to an irate man pounding on his ex-wife's door at the Coppertree Apartments, in the area of North Line and Telegraph roads..

While Edwards and Piche were assessing the situation, the killer retrieved a pistol from a bag and shot Edwards several times. Piche exchanged gunfire with the man, Tyress Mathews, 37, of Westland, who was wounded and taken into custody.

Mathews, who had a lengthy criminal history, was later found guilty of first-degree murder and murder of a peace officer. He was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole.
