Police requesting help to find missing Flint Township man

Daniel Alan Vaughn, 34, was last seen Thursday, Feb. 4 at a residence in the 1100 block of River Forest Drive, per a Flint Township Police Department news release.

He left the River Forest Drive residence in a silver 2017 Ford Fusion, police said. The residence is near Beecher Road off Interstate 75.

Vaughn may have traveled towards Beecher and Mt. Morris roads.

He stands 6-foot-tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds.

Family, friends search for endangered Flint Twp. man after 7th day missing

It’s been seven days since Flint Township Police say endangered Daniel Alan Vaughn was last seen.

Today, loved ones went street to street searching through abandoned homes, fields, and deep ditches in the Pierson Rd area in Flint.

Although Vaughn, 34, was last seen in the 1100 block of River Forest Drive in Flint Township, investigators say he left the area in a 2017 silver ford fusion and may have travelled to Beecher or Mount Morris.

Vaughn is six feet tall and weighs around 165lbs. He was last seen wearing a light gray Nike hoodie labeled “just do it” with dark jeans and a pair of tan Timberlands.

Police found the body of a Flint Township man reported missing nearly two weeks ago and made three arrests in the case.

Investigators say there was foul play involved with Vaughn’s disappearance and death. Police arrested a 31-year-old man from Flint, a 31-year-old woman from Flint Township and a 29-year-old man from Flint in connection with Vaughn’s death.

All three suspects remained in the Genesee County Jail on Wednesday while prosecutors reviewed the case.

3 charged after missing Flint Township man is killed, body is burned

A Flint man has been charged with the murder and mutilation of the body of a missing Flint Township man. Two others have also been charged with assisting with hiding and mutilating the body.

Beinville Alexander III, 31, is facing 10 charges related to the shooting death Vaughn, according to Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton. Maranda Ide, 29, and Trevyan Harris, 31, have also been charged with assisting with burning and hiding Vaughn’s body.

Alexander believed Vaughn was seeing the same woman he was seeing, Leyton said. Alexander arranged to meet with Vaughn to allegedly sell him marijuana, he said.

“When they met up, Mr. Alexander, because of his belief he and Mr. Vaughn were seeing the same woman, shot (Vaughn), then attempted to burn and hide his body,” Leyton said.

"I heard something go 'bang,' and I immediately started crying, because I knew it was a gunshot, because we hear gunshots all the time around here." Maranda said that she did not sleep on Tuesday night but that she was not too afraid to go back to school. "I think tomorrow will probably be the same as it was before the gun was fired," she said. "But I think I'll probably cry for a while."
