Just a gut feeling but I don't think her vehicle ever left the complex once she parked. IMO

  • #322
I wonder if there are any cameras inside the building? I don't hold out much hope based on poor lighting and no outdoor cameras.

One of the links states the car was locked. Keys and phone missing. Contents of purse intact.

Correct:
"The vehicle was locked, police said, and Stislicki’s purse — along with her ID and credit cards — was found inside. Police said they found no signs of a struggle." (BBM) (December 9, 2016 7:54 AM at http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2016/12...-tips-in-disappearance-of-danielle-stislicki/)

"The next day they contacted the police to file a missing person's report. Later Saturday evening, Danielle's purse was found in her car, which was locked and parked in front of her apartment.
Inside her car was her purse with credit cards, driver's license and other belongings." (BBM) (DEC 07 2016 03:05PM EST at http://www.fox2detroit.com/news/local-news/222206952-story)

"Her car was found parked in front of her apartment, locked with her purse and wallet inside." (BBM) (5:24 PM, December 07, 2016 at http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/...woman-apartment-complex-offering-50000-reward)

My conclusion:

1. Danielle's car was locked when found at 6 PM on Sat., Dec. 3, the day after she was last seen. Her purse and wallet (which held her credit cards, driver's license, etc.) were left in the car.

and

2. Her keys and cell phone are missing ("Police have not located keys to her apartment or car or her cell phone." at http://www.dailytribune.com/general...slicki-of-farmington-hills-family-members-say; "Investigators following up on tips say the key to the case is finding Stislicki’s cell phone, which they believe is turned off" at http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2016/12...-tips-in-disappearance-of-danielle-stislicki/)

So she locked her purse in her car because she didn't want it to be stolen while she went inside to do whatever she had to do before going back out again. I see nothing at all unusual about that. She had the good sense to take her keys with her so her car wasn't stolen, and locked the car so her belongings weren't stolen. Unfortunately, it sounds like SHE was stolen :(.

I just checked and it was raining Sunday that weekend, not Friday. The temp was between 31-40 deg. A change from the recent "heat wave" we've been experiencing

But it had rained earlier in the week and with the warm/cold weather we were getting here, the dirt roads kept freezing and thawing, which made them wet. I still think the mud was on her car from a Thanksgiving trip to see her family the previous week, not from the time of her disappearance. Also, as someone who drives a dirt road everyday her SUV was definitely not drove quickly down a dirt road because there would be more mud on it. As I mentioned previously, I drive 45 to 55 MPH on a dirt road with my SUV and it is frequently covered in mud, not just the bottom half. Her vehicle was driven with care down a dirt road, something I don't think a perpetrator would do. Also, in regards to a previous poster's comment that she "has never seen people wash their vehicles so much in the winter as she had in Michigan." I have lived in Michigan my whole life and I rarely wash my vehicle in the winter or summer because it just gets dirty again the minute I pull out of the car wash.

No cameras inside the building either, unfortunately.

I agree...I strongly believe she parked her vehicle and it never left. Here is the the article that mentions her car was found parked in it's usual spot. Also, in the pictures released from the police of her vehicle it was parked good, not crooked, not over the lines. I don't believe someone who is being held against her will would think to park in her usual spot or park it so perfectly. Nor do I think that someone who abducted her would have been able to magically park the car in her usual spot or park so close to an entrance that they might be seen exiting the vehicle.

Has it been reported what the condition was of her apt. Anything disturbed?

I have not seen this posted here, if it has been I apologize. This is the route between MetLife in Southfield and DS's apartment complex in Farmington Hills. I lived in Farmington Hills at 13 mile & Haggerty for 2 year, while working in Southfield. I never took 696 home if I left after 4 pm on a Friday because traffic is terrible. I am assuming that DS would have done the same if she was trying to get somewhere at 5:30 PM, meaning she took one of several of the routes home. It would be nice to know when her friend received the last text from DS indicating that she was able to get off of work early and would be there at 5:30 PM, as planned (her mother mentioned this being the last text that DS sent).

From what I understand, there was no sign of disturbance inside. K9 Unit was unable to detect anything either. The area had been contaminated due to a high volume of traffic going in and out of her apartment on the day of the search party (family and friends), however it was still essentially ruled out that there had been any sign of disturbance inside the apartment.

[h=1]Missing for one week: Reward in woman's disappearance reaches $120,000[/h]
She worked at MetLife in Southfield at 10 Mile and Telegraph roads. Met Life is offering a $50,000 reward for information about Danielle's disappearance. Danielle lived at an Independence Green Apartments at Halsted and Grand River in Farmington Hills. That apartment complex is also offering $50,000 in reward money.

Danielle's family has also set up a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for the reward....So far, they've raised more than $20,000.

Me too. Oh so sad :( She was protecting her items and she wasn't protected herself. Please just be out there safe, Danielle. :please:

Has it been reported what the condition was of her apt. Anything disturbed?

"There was no sign of forced entry and the apartment was not ransacked, said Lt. Jeff King."
POSTED: 12/05/16, 4:33 PM EST | UPDATED: 3 DAYS AGO: http://www.theoaklandpress.com/gene...slicki-of-farmington-hills-family-members-say

Did Danielle have a roommate or a boyfriend at one point, to whom she could have given a key to the apartment? Could she have given a key to someone she knew -a trusted neighbor, e.g.,- in case she locked herself out?

Have all of the staff (maintenance, office staff, etc.) at the complex been checked out (i.e., background checks, alibis, etc.)?

I'm just trying to think of someone whom Danielle would not have been surprised to see inside her apartment (in the case of someone with a key, the person could have contacted her ahead of time, asking if s/he could borrow something, pick something up, etc.).

Does anyone know if the door to Danielle's apartment was locked when her friend, family, LE, et al. went over after it became apparent that she was nowhere to be found?

  • #337
I sure wish it was law that proper lighting, cameras inside and out be provided by all complexes. Grrrrrr.........Heartbreaking. Bad enough but at Holiday time..... I cant imagine.

What was her job at MetLife?

West Bloomfield police: Two people being questioned after woman’s remains found inside burned vehicle

By John Turk, The Oakland Press
Posted: 12/09/16, 7:34 AM EST | Updated: 46 secs ago

...Chief Michael Patton reported that detectives believe they know who the victim is, but are collecting dental records and awaiting the results of an autopsy the chief said began this morning.

Patton did say, however, that the victim is not believed to be Danielle Stislicki, who has been missing from Farmington Hills since Dec. 2. There are also no similar missing persons cases in West Bloomfield, Patton said...
