"There was no sign of forced entry and the apartment was not ransacked, said Lt. Jeff King."
POSTED: 12/05/16, 4:33 PM EST | UPDATED: 3 DAYS AGO: http://www.theoaklandpress.com/gene...slicki-of-farmington-hills-family-members-say

Did Danielle have a roommate or a boyfriend at one point, to whom she could have given a key to the apartment? Could she have given a key to someone she knew -a trusted neighbor, e.g.,- in case she locked herself out?

Have all of the staff (maintenance, office staff, etc.) at the complex been checked out (i.e., background checks, alibis, etc.)?

I'm just trying to think of someone whom Danielle would not have been surprised to see inside her apartment (in the case of someone with a key, the person could have contacted her ahead of time, asking if s/he could borrow something, pick something up, etc.).
No to both roommate and boyfriend. Had a boyfriend a while back, but they broke up and he lives far away in another state. He is not a suspect and is just as confused by this as everyone else. Don't know if she ever gave anyone else another key. Staff has been checked out, yes. The police have been all over this.

Just a gut feeling but I don't think her vehicle ever left the complex once she parked. IMO

I agree, and if that's true then something happened outside the complex. Her house had no evidence.

There will be a candlelight vigil held for the public under the arch outside the Raleigh Officecentre, MetLife office, on Saturday, December 10th @ 5:30 PM EST for Danielle.

25300 Telegraph Rd, Southfield, MI 48033-7401,
Plenty of parking in both the front and back of the building. There will be no access to the inside of the building for restrooms.

The family is coordinating this event with The Friedman Management Company and MetLife for the safe return of Danielle.

Candles with drip guards will be donated by friends of the family, Marilyn & Jeff. If you can't be there, please join us in your thoughts and prayers at 5:30 P.M.EST Saturday, December 10.

On page 2 of this thread it talks about concerns of her recent behavior. Was that an accurate statement or was it ruled out to be poor reporting? Just trying to catch up.

Very concerned for this young woman -

Michigan expats are everywhere; a product of the various downturns in the auto industry. The last big diasporas of Michiganders happening in the early 2000's (after 9/11 and the accompanying economic downturn) and then again when the sub-prime/banking crisis tanked the economy after 2008.

Boston might be Boston-Edison district---several blocks of insanely huge houses that are just north of "mid-town" Detroit; but were originally actually outside the original city limits of Detroit city--Grand Blvd being the original city line.

At some point, they extended the city limits of Detroit out to 8 mile, assuming jurisdiction over Boston-Edison and a lot of other neighborhoods. Tho Highland Park and Hamtramck held out; and so are actually wholly independent cities completely surrounded by Detroit.

Grosse Pointe is on the far east side of Detroit, along the lake. Typically older money and established familes. Bob Bashara, the guy with the sex dungeon in a bar who hired a guy to kill his wife, is from the Grosse Pointe area.

There have always been pockets of middle class and even wealthier hoods inside Detroit. Indian Village, Palmer Woods, etc.

Recently, the rejuvenation of downtown Detroit (Quicken moving downtown, new hockey arena, new light rail, new casinos, etc) has led a lot of folks to move back into downtown and the immediate surrounding areas. However, the vast majority of Detroit is a poorly maintained wasteland, fo sho. It's really a huge area with not enough people per block to justify maintaining city services and public utilities throughout.

Detroit's definitely making a comeback; google new restaurants in Detroit for evidence of that. Getting rid of Kwame and electing a businessman from the suburbs as mayor seems to have helped. But, so far, the comeback is limited to the downtown and downtown adjacent areas.

I disagree with the comeback limited to adjacent areas. I work for Quicken and our company along with others have spent thousand of hours and volunteered to clean up, assist, work with those challenged areas with cleaning up the neighborhoods, schools, food pantrys, kitchens that serve the needy and so much more.

They just said they did not think the remains were those of Danielle----

Was just listening to the noon news and my ears perked up. Hope she is found soon.

I think the concerns for recent behavior has to do with Danielle not contacting family/friends, not showing up for scheduled dinner with friend, not going to work on Saturday to conduct a training session. Poorly-worded media reports. :moo:

I was in the Farmington Hills community earlier in the week to do some shopping. Flyers are EVERYWHERE.

Unfortunately her complex is a) located directly across from a freeway entrance ramp leading to a large interchange and b) known for car break ins, car theft and petty crime.

Hoping she's safe, but with each day it seems less and less likely.

We have a snow storm coming in tomorrow night into Sunday. Danielle give us a sign of where you are at/clue as to what happened to you. I am sure she came home to feed her cat/clean litterbox? Was her trash empty (i.e can of cat food in there). Took her bag to trash. Spoke with someone outside of her place. Hopefully there is a nosy neighbor peeking out their window or balcony that observed her? I know the first thing I do when I come home is feed my cat as he is meowing to be fed lol.

LMustang, we're only expecting an inch, that shouldn't slow things down too much

I have read much of but not all of this thread so I apologize if this has already been addressed. The reason that LE said in the beginning that they have no reason to suspect foul play and their only concern is if she is in danger because she has a right to go missing in their eyes and since no signs of foul play were left behind, they view this as a person who is missing of her own volition and if there is danger they probably feel that the danger to herself is her.

We look at it like "THIS IS CLEARLY SUSPICIOUS LET'S EXPLORE EVERY POSSIBILITY" but LE does not, because that's their protocol. This is why when a person goes missing it is very important for friends and family to work diligently.

Pretty brazen to abduct her at the dinner hour whether it was inside her apartment or outside. Too big of a chance of her drawing attention to what was going on outside and apartments have notoriously thin walls.

Wonder if she knows the person?

Anyway, just my opinion but here are a couple thoughts that have crossed my mind:

- I don't know how big her apartment complex is but every door needs to be knocked on and notes need to be taken. IF Danielle is the one to have parked her car, there's a good chance someone saw her park it.

- It's fully possible that Danielle is not the one who parked her car. This would probably indicate that whoever was last driving her care knew where she lived.

- It would be a good idea to ask around about where Danielle normally parked (or if it was assigned parking) and if her car was found parked in it's usual spot.

- Does anyone know what time of day she was last seen? I can't find that info. I'm wondering if it was still light out or dark when she was last seen.

Danielle's car was reportedly parked in the usual area in front of her apartment building. I don't think there is assigned parking or if her vehicle was in the exact space she usually parked, but it was in that general vicinity.

Danielle was last seen leaving work at about 5:00PM Friday. Yes, it is dark at that time now.

But it had rained earlier in the week and with the warm/cold weather we were getting here, the dirt roads kept freezing and thawing, which made them wet. I still think the mud was on her car from a Thanksgiving trip to see her family the previous week, not from the time of her disappearance. Also, as someone who drives a dirt road everyday her SUV was definitely not drove quickly down a dirt road because there would be more mud on it. As I mentioned previously, I drive 45 to 55 MPH on a dirt road with my SUV and it is frequently covered in mud, not just the bottom half. Her vehicle was driven with care down a dirt road, something I don't think a perpetrator would do. Also, in regards to a previous poster's comment that she "has never seen people wash their vehicles so much in the winter as she had in Michigan." I have lived in Michigan my whole life and I rarely wash my vehicle in the winter or summer because it just gets dirty again the minute I pull out of the car wash.

I don't usually wash my car in the winter either because it's always getting dirty with the salt and stuff. Guess we are cheap lol

Apartment complex is very large and per reports from people close to the case, it sounds like police have knocked on a lot of doors and asked a lot of questions.

Per reports, her car was parked in her "usual spot" near the door to her apartment.

She was last seen leaving MetLife in Southfield, around 5:00 PM (I believe a little bit before 5 because she asked to leave early that day per news conference). Sunset was at 5:01 PM on the day she went missing, the sun would have been down by the time she pulled into the apartment complex. It was also overcast that night and Nov 29th marked to New Moon phase, so natural light would have been limited.

Alright, so chances are if it was her who parked her car and if it was parked there on that day, it would have been in the dark and it sounds like it was a low lit parking lot.

Good thinking on the moon. I wonder too how we know she left work safe - was there a parking garage at this place by any chance? Did anyone see her physically get into her car (alone)? Just thinking out loud.

Also to add. Outdoor parking lot lighting poor at best No security cameras. Sadly I have read of cases of an abduction in broad daylight in a busy area. Yet nobody saw anything. Luckily in some cases cameras did. Hoping for the best here.
