I agree with all of this..
I'm becoming less hopeful she will be found. He's covered his tracks well enough that he's still a free man so why would he leave her out in the open to end it all for him.

If Dani is no longer alive and was murdered and buried by the security guard, then she could be anywhere.
He could have driven 3 hours up north (or all the way to the Upper Peninsula for that matter) to bury her.
Anyway, there was enough time to drive to a very low populated area, where a body wouldn't been found even if it was not buried. Chelsea Bruck was only found after half a year or so, in an area that is not even that remote.

He could have driven 3 hours up north (or all the way to the Upper Peninsula for that matter) to bury her.

I'm not sure really I understand your meaning behind mentioning Chelsea. I don't believe police would've ever searched near that area and got lucky someone was building on that property. Otherwise I don't believe she would've ever been found and the man responsible would never be where he is now. I still remember the day they found her. It seemed so unreal after following the case. I know I'm off topic and I'm not arguing (if that's even the word to use) your view, just trying to understand. [emoji18] Or maybe you meant something similar about her being found.

Yes, the area SGs family lives in is actually very nice. I feel like a lot of people who are suggesting these vacant homes are really just giving into the stereotype of Detroit. Having lived here my whole life I wouldn't guess an abandoned house in Detroit.

I teach Economics and it used to drive me nuts when students from affluent areas used the term ghetto to describe metro Detroit. I tell them the definition of "ghetto" is a large group of people from the same socioeconomic background or make up living in close proximity to each other. Therefore West Bloomfield, Wyandotte, Livonia (my city) and Grosse Ile are all ghettos.

Hi there. No worries on the double post. Sometimes it happens here. Not on your end. There is only a very short window of time to edit a post or it stays. Again no worries as everyone has pretty much had it happen. Glad your here for Dani.

Nevertheless, I hope that there has been progress in the investigation.

The police could still have traced his movements: his vehicle could have been caught on security cameras, his phone could have pinged even if turned off, etc. They may have some ideas (even though they've kept the public in the dark).

If the crime wasn't pre-planned all the way, he may have used an accomplice in the transfer of the vehicle.

If it was pre-planned, he may have left evidence during the planning phase. (He may have been seen scouting burial locations, etc.) Also, if it was pre-planned, I think there would be more evidence of a different kind (electronic evidence that he was obsessed with Dani, etc.).

I'm still hoping, but it isn't easy.

I've been following missing persons cases for a long, long time, and no case has ever hurt like this one because I've never come across a victim like Dani. She is one of those extraordinarily rare people who make the world worth living in.

I allowed myself to get my hopes up in part because of the initial police statement: "The reason she is missing is not the issue. The concern is for her safety." That comment seems incredibly cruel in retrospect because it misled me--and misled a lot of people, I think--into believing that a voluntary disappearance was a possibility.

Dear Ozoner

I feel the same way as you do about the beauty of Danielle's personality. I know we all do because it seeps through all of the posts here.

While it is difficult to maintain hope after what seems such a long time, hope is what we still have to hold onto.

Along with all of you, I continue to hope and pray for answers.

I understand and greatly respect sleuthing and possible scenarios as to how Danielle disappeared. It never fails to amaze me when I see the great work everyone has put into logistics of what happened to Danielle.

I don't have much to contribute to those scenarios because I still believe Danielle is still alive.

Try as I might, I just can't shake off my hope in this case. I know we all wish this were true. Many times on these threads there are not good endings.

Just wanted to explain myself and express my deep appreciation for all of you on these threads.

Your compassion and kindness is evident in your caring about why Danielle disappeared.
