We don't know the exact timeline, but if the security guard raped and murdered Danielle between 5:15 and 5:30 PM and then visited his wife at 11:30 PM, he could have made it all the way to Cleveland or Ft.Wayne and back, maybe even to Dayton or Gary. If the crime was planned, he may had a burial site picked out in advance. It's sickening to think of someone committing those crimes and then visiting his wife late at night--waking her up, probably--purely to create a bogus alibi for himself.
It's also possible that he disposed of Danielle after visiting his wife. His first priority may have been getting the Jeep back to Dani's apartment, which could have taken an hour or two if he did everything himself.

Can you please provide a link to the info about the SG going to see his wife that night? I don't think I've ever seen that reported in main stream media.

Or, hypothetically speaking, they are being patient and will make an arrest when the DA feels the case is strong enough to prosecute without a body. There is no statute of limitations on murder in Michigan. They can be patient and build a solid case.

I do believe that with good weather in the Detroit area new evidence will come to light and the case will progress rapidly.

This past weekend my son played in a soccer tournament on an island located at the mouth of the Detroit River where it opens into Lake Erie. It's about an hour drive from Berkley, and 45 minutes from downtown Detroit. The weather was perfect on the first day, so the kids and I drove around the perimeter of the island twice, looking for Danielle -- between games.

Even during the games, the goalies would have to go through the woods to find the ball from time to time, and all I could think about what if one of them were to come across Danielle .

I wonder if the investigators have any inkling as to where she may be, and if so, based on what evidence. I do not mean to suggest they disclose whatever information they may have to the public. I just want her to be found so badly and wonder if they are any closer to being able to bring her home.

I've often wondered why her jeep was returned to her parking space at her apartment, it could easily have been abandoned anywhere. I think he knew he was seen that day getting into her vehicle. So he had to make it look like she made it back home safely.

I go through waves with this case. Sadness, anger, hopeful, etc. ... Today, I'm just mad.

Same! I can honestly say I have never cried over a Missing Persons case until Danielle. This just makes me so incredibly angry and heartbroken for her and her family beyond belief. I have no words. I have never been more impatient and confused about a case. This just kills me. She seems like the best person and I cannot IMAGINE what her family and friends must be feeling on a daily basis. I don't even know the girl and I love her and want her to come home safely so bad.

Hair doesn't undergo changes at death. Hair is essentially dead. It does degrade over time like any other fiber, but those are changes that take place on a different timescale than changes you see organs and tissue after death.

Reminds a bit of the McStay case where their vehicle was moved as an apparent ruse...

Not sure if in our case here he was seen with her vehicle anytime during the day -- but there was something that prompted/caused LE to act quickly to investigate him and get things out of his house...

Unless a person denies every having contact/relationship with a person gone missing, evidence found can be explained away; unless it shows a victim couldn't survive.

Unless a person denies every having contact/relationship with a person gone missing, evidence found can be explained away; unless it shows a victim couldn't survive.

A suspect, or a suspect's attorneys, can try to explain evidence away, but jurors aren't required to believe those explanations. A good jury will look at the big picture and decide what's plausible and what isn't.

Thanks - I did actually almost say something about the situation being different with the root -- the only part of the hair that's "alive" but thought I would be getting too much into the weeds. Usually hairs that are found don't have root balls attached, but when they are, it's very fortunate because, among other things, it's easier to get DNA from the root.

I'm glad people aren't forgetting. I stopped by the Livonia Civic Center Library a couple of days ago and saw one of Dani's fliers in the lobby.

Well, yes, I guess so if this person is inherently diabolical. Which makes me think it has happened before and/Or could happen again.

That's what I meant by creating a crime scene...

Sometimes I struggle to think whatever happened wasn't there. It's so easy to think of it happening as she exited her car. I'm anxiously waiting to hear the LE has found to believe she may not have been the one to park her car.

I'll admit I miss the SIL crazy rants so I can learn little snibbets of info.
