I can only speak for myself but this case is local and specifically drew me to this site. The lack of information and continued local focus keeps me interested. I can't answer why other unsolved missing cases get less attention and don't see how that is relevant.

Similar here. I'm not local but my dad was raised in Romulus/Ypsilanti and I spent summers visiting his relatives in the Ida/Petersburg area. I have fond memories of the area and the people although things have undoubtedly changed in the decades since I was there last. My sister lives in SE Michigan so cases like Dani's and Sierah Joughin's piqued my interest.

If stalked and abducted maybe its possible that it could be someone from her past? The twitter account presumably owned by DS with the same handle as her IG is intriguing. Her last tweets on this account were Nov 2012 then in 2014 there were a few things re-tweeted that seemed to be very different from the things she actually tweeted about. The list of who she is following, interesting. Almost seems like the account got hacked? JMO

I'm pretty sure LE will not be answering that question.

Agree.

And I am very frustrated about some of these easiest cases going cold while everyone thinks that LE knows what they are doing.

Jmo.

Crystal Rodgers not solved.

Terri Bevers not solved.

Sherri Papini not solved.

Pike County 8 not solved.

Zuzu case not solved.

Heather Ciccone not solved.

And 1000 other cases.

But still these LE people still act like its a easy case but the families should just wait for years until we make an arrest. Jmo

Just wanted to say, I'm not sure that the women (and young girls) are "appearing less than willing" as this is how they are forced into prostitution. Backpage is notorious for the the trafficking of victims, hence why faces are often not visible in the photos. The owners were charged a few months ago, but were never prosecuted. It's ridiculous. Shutting down Backpage would be a huge step in limiting the ease of trafficking these victims. JMO
I agree as Im sure many others do too. I was shocked to see the number of young women/girls. Many look asian or phillipino. I know two phillipino women personally who married American men to escape poverty. They were over 18 and entered the marriages. That said, how many others left their country to become prostututes unknowingly and are threatened with deportation is they go to the authorities? Backpage and any website or publication like it should be shut down!!

I agree but it is sickening to think about this site full of obvious illegal activity just being out there untouched. If there was a stance taken on it, similar sites that came up could be taken down as well. Of course, each site would get a little "wiser" with how things are posted and advertised.

On a positive note, to those that think nothing is being done about it, that is not true. I personally know of FBI detectives specifically assigned to monitor backpage daily and follow up on leads that do lead to stings.

One of the largest barriers, though, is that many of the victims do not see themselves as victims and when rescued, go back. They often also will not testify against or even name Johns, which makes prosecution very challenging. This can be out of legitimate fear or because they do not want to betray the john, who they feel loves them. All Johns are not physically abusive and violent- many are charming and referred to as "Romeo" pimps. Pimps /Johns seek out vulnerable girls who they see as weak and can easily be manipulated. Just more reason I don't see this being the likely scenario for DS.

It is more likely, I think, that she has been abducted by someone that she knows (maybe a stalker) and may be being raped and held against her will or..

I have a friend that is ICE. They do humongous raids quite a few times a year that they sometimes coordinate throughout different states across the country simultaneously....they net tons of people and things slow for a bit but it's like when you dig a small hole at the waters edge at the beach...the next wave comes in and it fills it back up and it's like nothing has ever changed...virtually impossible to slow down, let alone ever stop.

Annndddd I was basically just going to comment here to mark my spot. I have my theories and I'm not interested in the totally off the wall ones, so I keep checking MSM, the Find page, and I skim here for updates.

Speaking of... for a few days I've been getting the nagging feeling this case will go like Zuzu's before it's over. The answers are in our face, yet no resolution. It's really ridiculous that so much evidence isn't enough (in Zuzu's case).

I'm just reading a little on this case and I am not familiar with past threads.

Can somebody help me understand how the DEA, FBI, & the Secret Service is involved? That's different compared to other missing person's cases isn't it? FBI maybe but what's with the other entities becoming involved? I am sure I could Google and figure out the protocol but I want to know how it pertains to this case?

By secret service do they mean CIA? OR have I forgotten an agency? Lol

In the past threads, you will find a lot of talk of this. I know the other day we were discussing it again, so check thread 5. There is a search feature on Tapatalk that may make it way easier for you to locate. Just search for fbi or secret service within the thread and a bunch should pop up. :)

In this case it may help because it could clue to whether she would have had to/wanted to stop at a store for food or wine and whether she discussed this possible errand with her friend. That opens up more store videos to check

For one, I'm genuinely wondering if I'm missing something. Like everyone else on here I'm just trying to understand things. Secondly, I'm wondering if there is something about this case specifically that has everyone so fascinated or if it's more in how this case was presented that has got it so much attention. It would be great if there was a specific way the authorities and/or media could present cases to call the most attention to them.

I feel the family did one helluva a job getting this out there in the sm world. There was never a lull in actions. They played the perfect missing person hand. Local news, rewards, candlelight vigil, new conferences even when there were no new findings, national news, major fb campaigning , ready to go flyers. The most important thing is they personalized DS/victim. We basically felt like family knowing all the little details of her life they have shared. Many relate to this case as though they personally know her.

I was searching backpages last night in just a last ditch effort. 1 i came across looked similar, most likely not but I screenshot pic. Is there someone i should send to?

Omg I'm so glad you said that. I watched this documentary of sex trafficking yesterday and later that night my mind thought about two missing people on here that I've been following, danielle and Krista and part of the documentary talked about that website and keywords they use in advertising these girls to indicate they are underage without saying it (doesn't apply to danielle but Krista is 17)

Anyway long story short I decided to look through the site both for danielle in michigan and in Florida for krista...I didn't see any girls who looked like them but God my heart broke seeing all of these girls and my mind kept wondering how many of them are being forced against their will. Just going to the site made me feel dirty and creepy but I too thought maybe it was worth looking. I had a strong urge to call these girls and beg them to go home or to offer to rescue them...obv that wouldn't work but gosh these poor girls. I hope danielle and Krista aren't in the situation the girls on that site are in. I had to stop looking because I just wanted to save them from a life like that

I'm not sure if our VI can assist in this, but a quick look at DS's Instagram displays some things I want to inquire about.

Liberty Greens - What was it? A community for foodies or a place?
Bishop Lake - She mentions she's made impromptu trips to this place to hike around. Is this a regular thing? Has it been searched? She seems to post pictures of the same location multiple times, is this Bishop Lake?
Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve - She found this place close to her work. Has this been searched?
"Secret spot" on Howard - Another forest or trail or park she visited. Same question as before. She earlier mentions the homes on Howard are amazing. (Is this what she speaks of:

Howard is my absolute favorite road. I live a couple of minutes from it. Very wooded with beautiful homes. I have increased my trips down it just in case.

Yes, I agree. I decided to go back to find the original post on case for some reason FHPD called me back, but when I did I clicked on a pic and more pics of the girl came up and it was not her definitely was not her. So, I can't go back there either and I seriously do not think she is there. I hope FHPD does know who it is and is just waiting for all evidence. All of these cases are so sad.

I am new here and found Websleuths because of this case. I became interested because I used to live close to her area. And I have always been interested in investigation, everyone who knows me knows I am goid at getting info and finding out info on people. Curious mind. Definitely, should have been a PI!

I really feel like I'm missing something here. Every time I check WS out, I have pages worth of new posts to read on this case, yet there hasn't been any new development in what, 2 weeks or more? I keep getting my hopes up only to read the same details rehashed & the same couple of theories dissected to Nth degree.

Dani is a very sympathetic victim. The case has some intrigue (but really not that much). What gives?!?

I don't want to take away interest, I'm just baffled why this case is getting so much more attention than others.

Personally I think there's a lot of intrigue. And she lives just minutes from me so it has become that much more important To me. Not a day goes by that I don't see her posters. The more time that passes the stranger it gets. To each their own.

I don't really think you're missing anything. I think the reasons certain cases get more attention are as varied as the people here. For some, it's happening in their community (it's great when they join us here on WS as verified insiders, as Holocene has). Others have a soft spot for children and follow those cases. Some cases are so strange they garner attention here on WS (recently a case involved a missing couple and it seemed the man was still active on Facebook - it wasn't him). Survivors of domestic violence have a unique perspective and might follow cases involving suspected abuse. Still others are drawn to serial cases. And that's just in general.

The truth is that some families and LE agencies are better at getting the word out there. There are resources for families who have missing loved ones. This is an Australian organization but they have good info:

I think people gravitate to people. If a case has enough details to get a discussion started then people will chime in. The more people posting equals more people reading..equals more people posting etc. in cases where there is just a small blurb ablut the MP and no further details, there isnt much to sleuth or discuss until LE, MSM, or VI gives more details. Anything else in those cases is against the TOS..generally.

Danielle is an everyday girl. So many relate to her. She could be any of our sisters, friend, daughter, neice. There's something innocent and angelic about her because of the way her personality has been portrayed. People feel protective of her, defensive of her reputation, a kinship.

Why? Because of her. She is earthy, goofy, real, adorable, simple, and strives for all those things we do. She has a robust life with nothing but hope and promise before her.

To think someone would just snuff her shining light for their own selfish satisfactions makes people want to rise up and know more. Because, if this can happen to the Siera Joughin's, Danielle Stislicki's and Cassie Compton's of the world, it can happen to our sisters, friends, daughters, nieces and granddaughters.
