First post here. Anyway, I don't have any hard "evidence" for this, so I'm not stating it as fact. Just something that was relayed to me that I thought was worth sharing. Someone I know works for an apartment complex in the area that is associated with Muirwood Apartments (the complex right next to Independence Green). Muirwood has a gate attendant, so every guest that passes through has to talk to the attendant first. This person I know spoke to the attendant who was working that day and she said that she saw Danielle that day during rush hour (not sure of exact time, but rush hour can be anywhere from like 5-6:30.....if not longer....so who knows). Anyway, Danielle turned into Muirwood and told the gate attendant that she turned too quickly (because the Muirwood entrance one street over from IGA's) and was just hoping to turn around and exit. The gate attendant said she seemed out of it (like, frazzled, not under the influence of something). I guess they called the police and reported this at some point, but, for whatever reason, the police never came out to investigate it further. Unfortunately, they have cameras but they weren't recording or something, so there is no real evidence, just an eye-witness account.
Omg!!!!

Stopped working there, but does that mean he stopped showing up for work? Could he have run into her in the parking lot..."hey! I haven't seen you in a while! Are you back?" ..."Yea, I had to go out of town for some family things and help take care of my SO. It's been a rough couple of weeks and now my car!"

Let's not pretend that a person responsible for the disappearance of another is an honest person ever.

I've been thinking along those lines, too. A so-called chance meeting/chat that wasn't really by chance. "Good to see you again, it's been a while. I just came back to say hi to/have lunch with /drop something off for former co-workers but now my car battery died /ride bailed on me. It's so nice to see you again. I don't suppose you could give me a ride?"3

Have they tried following up with FHPD? That seems like something they would follow up on.

I really do understand your hesitation and I have not ruled out that someone else may have been staying there. That said, if I (or my spouse) owned a home that was connected to multiple searches in response to a missing person investigation, I would not be silent. I would want to clear my name and help LE in whatever way possible. The fact that I may be harboring someone capable of such a crime would probably eat me alive. But that's just me.

I agree. But, I've never been in that situation and as others have pointed out here, many attorneys would advise you to be silent in that position. I certainly would want to be clearing my name immediately, though!

They called in the tip, but the police never came out. But, no, I don't think they ever followed up. I've thought about calling it in myself, but that probably doesn't make sense, especially since I wasn't actually involved.

The month of October is interesting. I know somewhere I read that DS worked remotely a fair amount of the time and then was back in the office in October. Anyone else remember reading that? I have no idea if that's the case or not but if so, she resumes work from building in the same month SG stops working there?

Her IG says 20 weeks ago she had to start working in the office again. That gives it a date of August 26 (roughly). Was a breakfast picture.

If someone has the address handy I thought I found announcements that that building had been recently renovated in MetLife started leasing the space that was dated in October 2016. I'll see if I can find the info. If they didn't arrive until Oct and the SG left in Oct, maybe there was a complaint filed. Not sure if there are any insiders who can verify how long MetLife has leased this space (more googling).

Edited to add link saying MetLife was new office tenent October 11, 2016. Just not sure
www.friedmanrealestate.com/news/friedman-transforming-galleria-officentre-in-southfield-michigan/.(I will figure out links soon).

I'm leaning towards renter, just seems that EMTs and security guards may operate in the same circles. Same softball leagues, bowling leagues, etc... EMT is with wife at hospital all the time, 4 bedroom house vancant a lot of the time, renting out a room would be a way to make money and keep house safe. I would be singing like a song bird though if a "friend" resulted in my name being drug through the ringer. Even if I just had my lawyer prepare a statement that said "It's him not me."

When I was in the hospital (sepsis) for a week, my husband was there 9-4 but I sent him home beyond that. The morphine made me sleep anyway, he may as well be home with the dogs, horses, cows, chickens and ducks. That is a considerable amount of free time.

I would think SG would have finger prints on file. If one of those prints is from him sneaking in the back hatch seems like probable cause, especially if he doesn't work there. If he worked there he could say he walked her out to the car and lowered the back for her. No excuse if he doesn't work there.

(Morbid thought process here)
Another thought, the I-45 killer liked to flatten his victim's tires and come to their aid. Then when he had the tire iron... If I remember the local story right he picked a woman out at the Waffle House, flattened her tire, then followed her. When she pulled over, he pulled over to help her change her tire.

Flat tire, open the back to get spare out, along comes "help". He closes the hatch after putting her inside. Would leave lots of evidence in back of vehicle though. Drive her vehicle to the house (insert black box), drive her vehicle to her apartment (not sure why). Then a brisk walk back to his vehicle or some distance to catch uber/taxi.

Missing key charm maybe trophy, maybe the reason he's no longer working there. Maybe she liked it because of the smiley face and toy quality (she had other toys on IG, robot and octopus I think), SG recognized it as weed related and commented or offered goods. DS reported him, out he goes.

I get it.
As the mother of two girls, I absolutely understand what you mean by this.

I don't. What does "girl" have to do with anything?

I would absolutely call it in. They can decide whether it makes sense or not.

Call in the tip! You never know. Anything could be speculated here, could be mistaken identity but in the actual chance it was her, maybe she pulled in there on purpose trying to get help somehow.

Ok this is very telling. I worked for a long time at Muirwood and still live up the street from both complexes. I can tell you, without question, that she would not turn too quickly and end up in Muirwood. Yes they are sort of next door to each other but are separated by condos, doc offices, a restaurant, etc along Grand River. They are at least a 1/2 mile apart. So she would not accidentally turn in there. If this is true and she in fact turned there it was purposeful. And to turn into the complex you have to actually get into a far right lane designated only for Muirwood. I hope that all makes sense. I'm just frazzled by this.

Could the SG have taken a leave of absence during his wife's illness? "Stopped working there" doesn't necessarily mean that the SG was fired.

Yeah, that's what I was asking earlier. That would make sense to me. It would mean he was probably still on good terms with the staff so his presence there wouldn't be alarming.

Oh, interesting, I didn't know that. I've been to Muirwood a few times, but never to IGA, so I just looked at the map on my phone and assumed that the next street over from Muirwood was the entrance to IGA.

It doesn't matter. We still don't know so we can still discuss.

Uh, I never said anything otherwise. Just commiserating. <mod snip>

I guess beliefs on gender norms plays a role here. I try to respect those that ascribe to traditional roles but admittedly really struggle.

Question. I've seen pictures of FG's wife. You could say she and DS are similar in appearance and personality. But I have not seen pictures of DS ex boyfriend. I wonder if he is dark skinned, dark hair? Mexican, Spanish... and often we have a "type" we're drawn to. I can see that FG could be drawn to DS. And if I saw a photo of her ex, I could tell if she might be drawn to FG. I think there is more to the friendship than most of you.

No, not at all. And my 1/2 mile estimate is very conservative. Muirwood is at Drake and IG is at Halstead. So not really room for error. [emoji20] this is so heartbreaking.

DH and I are expecting dinner guests shortly, so I won't be able to follow new developments in the case this evening. I'm feeling less comfortable regarding Danielle's possible "safety" but more confident that LE is tying up loose ends with their investigation for an eventual arrest and prosecution.

FG doesn't look like her ex. There are pics on instagram. I get what you're saying, too. I thought from the beginning that FG wife looks like DS (-ish).

Casually smoking weed isn't a big deal though, IMO. I believe she could've been buying from the SG- I don't really picture her being a seller because I agree that she had better things going on, but buying is very plausible.

Very plausible, indeed. However, I'm still not convinced that SG is not involved with Danielle's, dinner friend's, incarcerated, ex boyfriend that has been charged with homicide in his 10 week old son's death. MH is a habitual offender with a dark background. She could have easily been called as a witness in that trial (when it actually goes to trial) the postponement dates of the hearings/trial and her "gone missing" date are oddly coincidental. If SG really needed money, if wife is ill as it has been said, that could be motivation enough to be involved. Wayne County Jail has a lot of transient workers that come and go... Whose car is the third?
