I knew about the Etsy account, but I believe a lot of us jumped on that MJ bandwagon before we heard of or saw the Etsy account. I heard the MJ theory back in Thread #1, but I didn't hear about the Etsy account until the last week or so. Even with the Etsy account they could still be unrelated. Unless, she is posting on the Etsy account with a photo of the smoke buddy and stating that is what it is for.

The etsy account goes back to the first thread as well. I've been here since day one and we talked about it from the start

Yeah, I was SO FAR off on that case I couldn't believe what actually happened. But I believe that was the case with most of us that followed it.
Who is SP?

I'm upset I stumbled across your stupid websleuth website. It's 6 hours later here in Sweden which means I don't get to sleep until 3AM, stuck here reading all your words. And my Swedish boyfriend is about ready to ship me back to the USA. You guys are ruining what was the best relationship I ever had.

I was 101% (no, I never was good in math) confident of the affair gone awry theory. I didn't like thinking that about two people who seemed like the last two people to behave that way. I convinced myself that FG went for "strong women with strong personalities" and was feeling very alone in recent years, scared about things around him which were out of his control. He needed a woman to lean on. And I was convinced that DS struggled with long term healthy relationships so in a way he was safe--and kept a secret. But she couldn't handle it, overcome with guilt, broke it off... Then he came to the lot to talk to her and poof, she was gone. The car then parked back home, an attempt to redirect the focus--divert attention. 101% sure. Yes, I was.

Now the family is promoting National Trafficking Awareness Month. And the thought of 12 agencies participating immediately comes and haunts me. And I second guess what I have thought all along.

And I don't sleep.

I hate this. I hate Websleuths. I hate Facebook. I hate the press. :tantrum:

I dont think a human trafficking ring will park your car back home if abducting you 10 miles away at work. Jmo

It sounds like an ex or someone that wants to distance her car from being seen near their house or something.

Btw. The perp either had someone pick them up or they called Uber/taxi to pick them up near her complex. Jmo

Outside of the perp walking back, it's difficult to imagine them leaving there without an accomplice, eye witness or a taxi record. But then some of these criminals have done dumber things.

My two theories have not changed since the early days -- 1) abducted (not human trafficking) 2) disappeared by angry bf/ex of friend. Nothing that has happened in the last 24 hours changes my mind, though I would be delighted if my being totally, totally wrong means she is alive and will be reunited with her loved ones.

A HT ring might not, but a "contracted" or "recruiter" of sorts, might.

We have been told that SG and DS knew each other, even if just in passing. Maybe he did stalk her for a little bit so he could get away with the crime longer? Maybe he was instructed by the person he was giving her to to make it look like she was home or had been? Maybe she did actually make it home where she was then abducted by SG?

I'm thinking SG is kinda a middle man in the HT scenario.

HT wouldn't be such a puzzle or so hard to get people back from if it was a point A to point B situation. Hence the reason they haven't named SG- there's other points of contact that could crack. Calling out SG by name could make all of those people nervous. Nervous people panic. Panic could be bad for DS.

Desperate people do dumb and sometimes awful things. I think SG got involved because he is desperate.

Not sure about all this although I could definitely buy into theory SG was desperate. Maybe desperate for money and desperate people do desperate things....

I do agree with the "parking the car back". Unless the person involved in human trafficking knows her.

But I MUST ask this....

WHY WHY WHY is her family in the last 24 hours promoting and asking us to attend an awareness program on human trafficking?

IF they were not touched by this personally, it seems there would be other things on their mind.....

It's confusing for me.

Maybe because a HT organization donated money to them to help find Danielle. So they want to reciprocate by helping spread the word of HT Awareness at the vigil. Idk

It's a deep scar in my WS psyche. I just can't talk about it. ;)

I thought HT from the beginning after first news conference with words used, info given and then news reports after. The leaders of these rings don't do the dirty work people are contracted. A leader may not do specifics mentioned but another may. When you have HT you have drugs, etc. Could be that a POI has not been named because there are many involved and a POI is a small piece of a bigger operation and they cannot risk releasing much information. I could be wrong. Any theory I or orders have is unfortunate.

With all the HT talk here I just wanted to say that the article I referenced earlier today has some very specific information which could point that way IF you read through to the comments.

As a little bit of some background to just how bad HT is in Michigan: I am from a smaller town in Northern Michigan, anyone who knows the area knows what the demographics are like up there. Less than a year ago a man showed up at the school of my friend's daughter. She was in 10th grade at the time, she is beautiful, sweet, goofy, and goes out of her way to talk to, and help pretty much anyone. She is a "good girl" (not that it matters when someone is a victim) but she has colorful hair and wears a fake nose ring and quite often has henna tattoos, etc, meaning some people assume she is NOT a "good girl". Her father is a blatant racist and in her attempt to be as opposite as him she made an acquaintance at the mall who was a different race...who also happened to be well into his 20s but told her he was 18. He claimed he was up from "downstate" and was looking for apartments by the college and asked for her help. She sat in the food court with him for a bit, gave him her cell phone number in case he needed help finding a place. He reached out to her numerous times and was basically wooing her. She wasn't interested but being the sweet, naive girl that she is, she didn't know how to shut it down.
Well, that man is who showed up at her locked-down-tight private school with a dozen pizzas for "Katie" and her friends. The school was smart and called the parents and the police immediately while pulling "Katie" into the teacher's lounge without letting her know what was going on. The guy got spooked and takes off. Everyone is scared at that point, she has to fess up to giving a stranger her cell phone number, her racist dad has more ammunition to fuel his stupidity and they're all on pins and needles until two weeks later when the cops call. The dude was picked up trying to cross the Canadian border with underage girls, he was a trafficker and had been on their radar as potentially such. "Katie" looked like a girl who might fit some of the parameters a trafficker would look for in a potential victim, but despite what she looks like she actually comes from a warm, double-income, college educated home who's parents would have sounded the alarm if she was 10 minutes late from anything.
HT is a huge problem in the state and the bad guys do not always follow the "rules" of who gets trafficked.
Not saying it's what happened to Dani, a year ago I never would have contemplated it but IMO it shouldn't be discounted completely.

I found the Etsy account way back on 12/12, thread #1 post 881.
It wasn't anything to do with the Smoke Buddy. It was that she had favorited a shop that sells specific goods, pretty exclusively. I usually only favorite shops that sell things I have an interest in, unless I'm shopping for someone else.
Maybe she was shopping for a pipe for a friend as a gift? Possible, I guess.

IMO, it's hard to logic one's motives when they are desperate or drugs are involved. Not saying that SG is a user, but if the trafficking theory pans out, drugs are not far behind. A quick sale to someone who may (may not) be out of work caring for a sick wife, could be motivation enough for someone not thinking they would ever be connected. Someone posted up thread about returning her vehicle to her apartment as the perp realized he may have been the last one to see her and was covering his tracks (making it appear as though she had returned home that night). Perhaps that's part of his alibi, "she gave me a ride home, dropped me off and I haven't seen her since." JMO

Thanks to those pointing out the family of D.S. may only be directing attention to human trafficking for some of the reasons you gave i.e. the request of a friend, someone they may have met through social media who lost a child to human trafficking and not because their child fell prey to it,... Now I'm really messed up!
