Murder trial of man accused of dismembering victim begins

Two mysterious and threatening men, duck hunters who stumbled upon a dismembered body and a chainsaw dumped in a swamp are elements of a murder trial that began in Muskegon County court Tuesday.

Anthony Blamer of Fremont is facing four felony charges, including armed robbery and open murder, in the shooting death of D'Anthony Keenan of Muskegon nearly a year ago. Keenan's dismembered remains were found in the Manistee National Forest in Newaygo County a day after he was killed on Aug. 4, 2017, according to the Muskegon County prosecutor.

Man guilty of second-degree murder in dismemberment case

"MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI - Anthony Blamer, accused of killing and then dismembering a Muskegon man, is guilty of second-degree murder.

The verdict was announced Wednesday morning by Muskegon County Circuit Judge William Marietti following a bench trial last week....

Sentencing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sept. 10. Second-degree murder is punishable by any number of years up to life in prison. First-degree murder carries a mandatory life sentence.

Marietti also found Blamer guilty of felony firearm - committing a felony while in possession of a firearm. He earlier found Blamer guilty of carrying a concealed weapon...."
