The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) POSTMORTEM WARNING! Not gory.
Today’s promised Jane Doe! She’s so recognizable IMO but why would nobody come forward to say “that’s my friend” or “that’s my mom” or “oh, that’s [name]! I went to high school with her!” Just so crazy.
She has some really good identifiers IMO but nobody knows who she is!

Here’s her information.
On April 14, 2022, a woman was found unresponsive on the sidewalk in Detroit. She was taken to Beaumont-Dearborn by EMS, where she was pronounced dead.

The deceased was a black female, no exact age on her, but they think she is under 50, so I would say in her 30s or 40s.

She had black hair and brown eyes. She was 5’9” (175 cm) and weighed 380 pounds (173 kg). This is extremely obese, with a BMI of nearly 60. The normal BMI is about 19-25, but BMI isn’t the most accurate measurement of health.

For example, I’m technically *barely* normal weight at 5’2” and 105 pounds. I look super muscular and actually, my arms are quite large because with my family’s natural body size we are extremely thin. Most women in my family of my height can be about 85-95 pounds and healthy.

So that is something to take into consideration, but 380 pounds is morbidly obese for someone of a normal size, or even a taller person like this woman. It’s overweight unless you’re like 8 feet tall.

This distinct feature is not listed but she has a Chinese lettering tattoo on her what looks to be upper arm.

She just seems so recognizable to me. The Chinese tattoos! Yes I know they are relatively popular but they are still all pretty much unique from one another. Also her height and weight. You don’t come across a 380 pound, 5’9” woman every day, do you?
To be honest I wonder if the weight is accurate. Her face does look big and round, yes, but she doesn’t look like she’s almost 400 pounds to me. It could just be my perception since even I, a 105 pound woman, have a fat face and double chin despite being very muscular. Different people store fat in different places but her arm doesn’t look that fat either. I think maybe they meant 280 pounds instead of 380? I could be wrong.

Hoping that this woman gets her name back and goes back to her family.

I sketched her out. She doesn’t look that great because I suck at shading and have never drawn a sketch of a black person before. Sorry. :(

She also has what appears to be a big scar on her face ( unless it’s a crease marking from lying on something)

Bless her heart.

I do hope she is recognised & can ‘go home’ to her family.

Keysha Preston maybe? Missing at age 41 from Houston. She’s 5’7” and 300 pounds. I don’t see anything too different between the two other than Keysha’s nose is bigger. It says Keysha has been murdered but her body has not been recovered. Same hair too! The UID looks like she has a bit of a darker skin tone but that could be because her picture is in black and white.

i never go by BMI. i am fat rn, but i am 5"8 and am healthy and look my best around 200, wich by BMI is obese. which i am not fat at that weight. bodies jus all differ. that being said, she was surely a larger woman at over 300 lbs.

Yes. At 105 pounds most would think of me as being skin and bones. I’m actually very muscular with a 6 pack and big biceps. I’m 5’2”.

and in Detroit, her size is not that uncommon. No judgment, just facts. The tattoos look great - wonder what the characters are. May she get her name back soon and those missing her find some peace.
Oh! I’ve never been to Detroit. Well, I’ve been to a few cities but mostly just Houston, TX (live there) and Tempe, AZ (hometown). I am also curious about it too since my Chinese is limited to “ni hao”. I know somebody’s missing her. She’s someone’s sister, daughter, aunt, mother… I could go on.

Our brains are getting reprogrammed. I'm the same height and weight I was in the 90s. "Fat" then, "slim" now.
Just like me. 105 lbs at 5’2”. I work out daily at the gym and lift heavy weights. I’m very muscular. Most people think of me as being about 130 or so just by my build. But no, people think 105 lbs is starving… lol

We could all but positively identify her and in Detroit it could still take six to eight more years for them to make it official. We literally just had that happen last month I think.
Yeah. Of course. I thought about then remembered, “oh it’s Detroit”. LA loves to cremate, Detroit loves to withhold names! ;)
